Story
I'm in a FOSTER HOME! If you would like to set up a time to meet with me, please email my foster parent at Lauragabatino@hotmail.comMeet one-year old Daphne! She's as cute as a button and sweet as pie. Daphne came to the shelter as a stray and has been fearful and timid. She warms up slowly and is looking for someone who is kind and patient. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs. Please email her foster person if you have questions or are interested in adopting Daphne!

Story
Max belonged to my Mom. He is loving, smart, obedient, and house trained. He is VERY FRIENDLY! He gets along with Cats and kids. My Mom really loved and spoiled him. She got sick in May of 22. I took care of him since then. My brother, who was there when she adopted him from a shelter in Ga, said he would take him. He backed out at the last minute. I travel internationally for work. I HAVE TO GET BACK TO WORK AS I AM ALMOST BROKE NOW. I don't have the time or the money to care for Max anymore. Need to rehome him ASAP so I can get back to work!

Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ISO fresh start and love!LOLLY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!Name: Lolly     Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age:   3 years 11 months as of April 2024        SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 32 lbs Gets Along With:   Lolly does well with other dogs. Because Lolly is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12.We haven't seen her with cats or kids but she can be tested once she has arrived in the DC area. Currently Living at:  DC area foster home. Special adoption considerations:   Because Lolly was rescued and pulled from a shelter before she could be altered, she is not yet spayed. We have scheduled her to be spayed; however, if she is adopted before the spay, her adopter must assume responsibility for the spay. It must be completed by May 13, 3024; there are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. The adopter may take over the Lucky Dog appointment slot.  Lolly is also from a hoarding/cruelty situation, and was very scared at rescue. Because Lolly is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12. Lolly is Looking For:  For a loving home that delivers all the sweet things her rescuers whispered in her ear.... 'You're safe now, sweet girl. The life you deserve starts now. You get lots of love, quality kibble, a cushy dog bed - and a warm lap if you'd like too. You're safe now, sweet girl.'  Lolly was rescued from a hoarding/cruelty case and landed in a massive south Texas shelter that routinely has 1200-1500 animals in their care; her chances of being adopted in that area are, well, low to nil. Once she arrives in the DC area, she likely will be nervous in new environments. She is eager to get her own humans - ones who get that she might need extra support during her adjustment and give her all the love and patience she needs. And ones who take her for sniffy walks and all those adventures she's been missing out on - she's in his prime and has lost time to make up for! And what do her humans get in return? An incredibly sweet and loving dog with an enormous stockpile of adoring gazes and loyal companionship to offer the humans in her new chapter.   What do you say? Will you help her write it? What My Foster Says About Me:  Lolly is still decompressing in our home, but is making progress.  She likes to hang out in a corner of our house with a comfy dog bed, blankets and a stuffed bunny.  We sit and lay next to her throughout the day while we work from home, give her scratches and pets, and lay with her a bit at night in her 'expen' to tell her stories.  She is still very shy and nervous, but is starting to trust a bit more everyday.  Lolly was extremely underweight when we started fostering her, but we give her frequent meals and snacks throughout the day to help her gain weight.  She hasn't mastered the art of drinking water out of a dish, so we mix her meals (wet food, some dry kibble, and pumpkin) with water to help her stay hydrated.  She loves her snacks and once she trusts you, she will gently take them out of your hand. Lolly is still learning to go potty outside, so we carry her into our fenced yard frequently throughout the day with her leash on.  Lolly will not walk on her leash yet - we are still working on that.  She will do her business outside as long as you give her plenty of space to walk and sniff around.  She is learning to run back inside into our house on her own when we approach her, and she finds her dog bed in the corner. Lolly will cower when you try to pick her up to take her outside, but she lets you pick her up and carry her without any issues.  She is still learning the ways of the world, how to trust humans and play with other dogs, so she'll need someone who has the love and the patience to continue her socialization and training. Lolly is definitely a sweet and gentle soul.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and transport from the shelter.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .
