If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Apple  (APP0624CHEFD)Estimated Breed:   Collie MIXApproximate Age:   3-4 yearsApproximate Weight:   55 lbsCurrently Living at:   BoardingAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet Apple! She is a young and sweet South Carolina girl on the hunt for her forever home. Once she gets to know you, Apple is very affectionate! You will have a true and loyal friend in Apple. Apple can be a bit dog selective as she is fearful of some dogs. She would do well as the only dog in a home or with a male dog that is not dominant. Apple loves being outside and playing! Apple has a lot of unconditional love and loyalty to give. She's just waiting for that special someone who will be hers forever. Could that person be you? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
The Sweetest Senior SoulIntroducing Cooper:  the Sweetest Senior Soul   Cooper needs a new foster parent or Adopter.   Life hasn’t always been kind to Cooper, but you’d never know it by the way he looks at you—with soft, trusting eyes full of gratitude. This gentle collie mix, approximately 6–7 years old, has endured neglect and hardship, yet he still radiates warmth and kindness. His spirit remained unbroken.   Cooper’s journey to a better life began when he was rescued by Tara’s House from an outdoor kennel where he had spent nearly all of his life.   He arrived four months ago - emaciated and heartworm positive .  He had never known the comfort of a home, the security of a soft bed, or the simple joy of a loving touch. But thanks to his dedicated foster mom—who gave him nutritious meals, cared for him through heartworm treatment, and, most importantly, showed him love—Cooper is now ready to begin his next chapter.   He is on the mend and needs a quiet, peaceful home where he can continue to regain his strength.  A cozy spot to rest his head, a gentle hand to reassure him, and the time to slowly ease into an active routine—those are the only things Cooper asks for. He is a calm, sweet-natured old soul who gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and people of all ages.   Cooper is proof that resilience and love can transform a life.   Whether you are ready to foster or adopt, Cooper is waiting to meet you with open paws and an open heart. Could you be the one to complete his journey?   If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Cooper is waiting to meet you! You can to foster or adopt Cooper by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.net or www.tarashouse.org.  His adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.June 9, 2025, 1:49 pm

Meet Princess Meet Princess, an amazing combination of playful, sassy and cuddly. Princess loves dogs and really loves kids of all ages. Medium energy and very loving. Expected to be about a medium sized dog when grown and has such soft fur. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging.
