Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Meet one of the cutest pups ever,  Brandy.  Whatever you are doing, she is doing. If you are not doing it, she is going to convince you that you should be.  A true teenager with lots of energy and always up for an adventure.  She did well with her foster siblings and anyone else who wants to join them in the back yard for play time. She does well, figures everyone out and adjusts her play style.  Walking is an adventure for her, meeting and greeting everyone, she's just that friendly and eager to meet you.  Brandy is learming that mouthing is for toys and not for getting attention. Give her lots of  exercise and fun and she will soon relax.  She  is a smart girl and will learn fast with  Crates are ok but she really would prefer to stay out of them. We are recommending she be crated when left alone, she is busy and can find toys all through the house.  House training is on track but please keep her on a schedule until she figures out her new environment.  We recommend no snall children because of her energy and herding tendencies. Homes with a backyard and active fur sibling along with plenty of hiking and outdoor time on the weekends is her absolute dream family.  She is fully vetted and around that 6-7 months. Best guess on breed collie mix. And that is a real guess.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Upcoming adoption events:                Saturday  Jul 25th 12-3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280-C Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston     Saturday Aug 1st 12-3pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 11135 Lee Hwy; Fairfax     Saturday Aug 8th 12-3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280-C Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston     Saturday Aug 15th 12-3pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 11135 Lee Hwy; Fairfax VA 22030 We are always desperate for foster homes, now more than ever. He’s just a puppy and working on his potty training. Rescued from: Virginia Story: We are so happy to have Bill safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Story
Hi, I’m Smiley—and I think my name suits me pretty well. If you look closely, you’ll notice my adorable little grin, but it’s my big brown eyes that usually do all the talking. They’ve seen a lot, but they’re still full of hope that my forever family is out there. I’m a 7-year-old Border Collie mix, which means I’m just barely a senior and still have plenty of adventures, walks, and cuddle sessions ahead of me. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but if you’ll give me a little patience and let me get to know you at my own pace, I promise you’re in for something really special. Trust is a gift I’d love to share with the right person. Once I know you’re my friend, you’ll discover that I’m the sweetest boy around. I absolutely love snuggling up with my soft, squeaky toys and I’m perfectly happy entertaining myself for a while. But don’t worry—I have plenty of room in my heart for cuddle sessions, kisses, and just being close to my favorite people. I’m a little goofy, a little independent, and a whole lot of lovable. One of my favorite things to do is go for walks. I stroll nicely on a leash without pulling because I’m much more interested in taking my time, sniffing all the wonderful smells, and enjoying the trails. Every walk is a new adventure, and I’d love to have someone to explore the world with. If you already have a dog at home, that’s even better! I absolutely LOVE other dogs and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy to share life with. As for cats, I’m not sure what I’d think since I haven’t met any yet. I’m also healing beautifully. My skin and fur are growing back after recovering from Demodex and a flea allergy, and every day I’m looking and feeling a little better. My outside is catching up to the sweet boy I’ve always been on the inside. All I’m really looking for is someone who believes that the best things in life are worth waiting for. If you’ll give me the time to trust you, I’ll give you my whole heart in return. I can’t wait to meet the person who sees past my shy beginning and discovers the loyal, loving best friend I’ve been waiting to become.

Meet Carmie! 💕 QUIZ: DO YOU QUALIFY FOR THE CARMIE VIP LIFESTYLE? Some dogs are built for any old boring routine. Carmie? She requires a fun and active lifestyle. If you answer YES to the following criteria, you might just be the chosen one destined to adopt this Laughing Buddha lookalike. YOUR HOME IS A "NO PETS, ALL PEOPLE" SANCTUARY • The Lifestyle Fit: You want a ride-or-die canine companion, and your home is free of other dogs and felines. • The Carmie Reality: Carmie wants to be the undisputed center of your companion animal universe. In return, she offers universal love. She is obsessed with all humans—every age, shape, size, and color. If your lifestyle involves hosting friends, greeting neighbors, and being the popular house on the block, Carmie will act as your official welcoming committee. YOU WANT AN ADVENTURE CO-PILOT • The Lifestyle Fit: Your weekends involve road trips, exploring new places, and occasional home improvement projects—and you like a clean car. • The Carmie Reality: Carmie has a 100% perfect track record of never getting carsick. She is crate and potty trained, handles road trips like a seasoned pro, and knows plenty of commands (which she will happily perform... when she feels like it). Her favorite places include Lowe’s and Home Depot, where she charms shoppers with her Laughing Buddha smile and crinkly eyes. YOU’RE HAPPY TO SHARE CHORES • The Lifestyle Fit: You find laundry tedious, wish you had a fuzzy foreman to supervise, and wouldn’t mind a canine surveillance camera either. • The Carmie Reality: This 1-year-old, 40-pound, adorable girl has that cattle dog vibe and loves jobs. She actively helps get clothes out of the dryer and runs strict quality control to ensure no socks or underwear are left behind. Plus, she guarantees 100% protection against completely undetectable security breaches. YOU THINK "WALKIE-TALKIES" INVOLVE SNEAKERS, NOT RADIOS • The Lifestyle Fit: You view daily walks as an engaging team sport, not a mindless chore where you stare at your phone. • The Carmie Reality: Carmie is working hard on her leash reactivity and needs an active handler who can continue her "Walkie-Talkies"—structured walks where we train with high-value treats. She would also benefit from a fenced-in yard where she can zoom safely when she’s not out on official training missions. YOU DON’T TAKE LIFE (OR TOOTS) TOO SERIOUSLY • The Lifestyle Fit: You have an easy sense of humor and want a dog who makes you laugh whether she means to or not. • The Carmie Reality: Carmie is the reigning champion of Mrs. Steal-Your-Seat. You’ve been warned. You must also be okay with a dog who occasionally startles herself with her own toots and literally "talks" back when she's annoyed with you. THE VERDICT • If you answered NO: No hard feelings! The Carmie Reality isn't for everyone. • If you answered YES: You have found your canine soulmate. Carmie has a managed heart condition (ventricular arrhythmia), but that doesn't slow her down. She just needs a family who will commit to her medication schedule. As she’s not quite a puppy and not quite an adult, Carmie also needs pet parents who will continue her good dog training. She comes with six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer in the first 60 days to help you start off strong together! And the secret weapons to getting her to behave are ham and cheese and cheek scratches.

Story
Meet MJ (“Max”)! Max is a handsome 1-year-old Border Collie mix with brains, energy, and a whole lot of love to give! This smart boy is neutered, crate trained, house trained, and eager to learn. He already knows sit, lay down, wait, and stay, and he’s currently mastering spin and place. Max absolutely loves people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s happiest when he has room to run, play, and frolic in the yard—sometimes with a few excited barks to let everyone know he’s having the best day ever! Because of his herding breed mix and active nature, Max would thrive with an active family and a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor adventures. While Max adores dogs and humans alike, a home without cats is best for him. This young boy is looking for a family that will continue his training, keep his mind busy, and give him the love and exercise he craves. In return, Max will reward you with loyalty, fun, and endless affection. Could Max be the perfect addition to your family?
