Story
1-2 YRS OLD / COLLIE MIX / MALE Jake is a happy, silly boy! He is new to the rescue. We will add more information as we get to know him better. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a DOG: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CDCK/Dog City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. Not Ready to commit to adopting yet? Foster a dog today! See our list of dogs needing foster: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt-foster/foster-a-dog/ Apply to foster: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/CDCK/Dog

Story
Amber sure lives up to her name where the color of amber imbues, warmth, positivity and wisdom. Would you see when you first meet this beautiful, young girl is an 18 month, 60 pound Collie mix that loves to receive affection as well as nd she has so much to give back. This girl just want to be right by your side and enjoy the people round her.  She was found by some local residents in a very small, rural community but soon realized that no one was looking for this very good girl. Critter cavalry rescue volunteers readily took her in and quickly found out how smart she is.  As she is learning to walk on a leash, we also have learned that due to being astray and wandering on her own for a while. She is developed a bit of a clingy personality that will need a little bit of work and reassurance. Amber loves to play with her stuffed bunny who seems to be her BFF and she also likes to be brushed. She's a sweetheart with other dogs, but we haven't had a chance to cat. Test her and can, if that is a trait that you desire her to be good at.  Critter Cavalry Rescue is offering this girl as a special companion to a family or individuals who just want a good dog.   Please email at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 10, 2025, 12:27 am

She is a young and sweet South Carolina girl on the hunt for her forever home. Once she gets to know you, Apple is very affectionate! You will have a true and loyal friend in Apple. Apple can be a bit dog selective as she is fearful of some dogs. She would do well as the only dog in a home or with a male dog that is not dominant. Apple loves being outside and playing! Apple has a lot of unconditional love and loyalty to give. She's just waiting for that special someone who will be hers forever. Could that person be you? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Bailey is a gentle and easygoing girl who will absolutely melt your heart. She is a shy girl at first but warms up quickly with food. She is super sweet and does well on leash. With people she trusts, Bailey loves affection and will seek out her favorite people for love and pets. Senior dogs like Bailey don't belong in a shelter. This sweet senior girl deserves a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years in peace. Despite her age Bailey still likes to romp around the fields at the Trails Home Farm or go for walks with her trusted people. Take a chance on this sweet senior, you won't regret it. KNOWN WITH DOGS: Bailey had done well with dogs who respect her boundaries. She has played with some of the younger puppies as well as been happy to just coexist with other laid-back dogs. To learn more about Callie please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Callie will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event she will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events. Sweet Callie is an adorable Blue Heeler/Aussie mix with the biggest, floppiest ears in the land! It comes as no surprise that she absolutely adores ear scratches. And belly rubs, definitely belly rubs too. Callie will do well with a patient dog in her forever home, one who can play with her and show her the ropes. But she’ll also be fine as your one-and-only, as long as she gets some daily exercise. Even a long, slow walk will do, if she’s given enough lead on her leash to sniff her little heart out. She is crate training and learning that it’s a great place to take a snooze. Callie enjoys entertaining herself by wrestling with her stuffed animals. Spoiler alert: Callie always wins.
