Story
ADOPT WANDA ✨ Wanda is a one-year-old auburn beauty, and at 45 pounds she's that perfect middle size — sturdy enough for adventures, small enough for the couch. At her last adoption event, she talked to everyone. Not nervous chatter — Wanda just genuinely did not want to miss meeting a single person. She takes treats gently, rolls right over for belly rubs, and hands out puppy kisses to anyone who gets close enough. This fun-loving Border Collie mix has a big, loving heart, and she's thriving in her foster home with KIDS, a DOG, and a CAT. Yes — kid friendly, dog friendly, cat friendly. All three. She's also house trained, crate trained, and settles quietly in her crate like a pro. Someone already did the hard part. All that's left is loving her. Ready to meet your forever best friend? Story
Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This boy was dumped with siblings and is a sweetheart! He is very friendly and gets along with other dogs. He has some housetraining and also knows how to use a dog door. He has done okay on a leash and in a crate. He will need daily exercise but is not overly energetic. He is ready to get a forever home.

Story
Hi!  My name is Leo and I am looking for a forever home.  I was reported to animal control lying injured in a ditch and they came and got me and took me to the shelter where it was determined I was probably hit by a car and had a broken front leg which was beyond the type of help the shelter could give me.  A plea went out to the rescue community and unfortunately no one was able to step forward for me until a small local rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could and they said yes.  My first stop before going into foster was to a vet who set my leg; however, after my arrival at my foster home, she noticed that I also appeared to have something wrong with my back end.  BCAA then sent me to an orthopedic specialist/surgeon who said I had also suffered an injury to my pelvis but that other than strict rest w/ minimal walking, he was not able to do anything surgically and it would just take some time to heal.  Well, I just got my clearance for my leg and my pelvis is almost there and should be much better in a couple of weeks when I will be on the hunt for my own home ... boy, will it feel good to run and play as my foster mom says I'm getting a little frisky on my short walks.  I am young, probably around a year old, and my foster mom has been doing her best putting a little weight on my lanky self (I don't mind, it means I get extra helpings at mealtimes!) and I am currently a little under 50lbs ... I probably will top out between 50-60lbs as a good weight.  No one is willing to go on record about my breed mix but foster mom says maybe collie with some type of retriever, but whatever mix I am, she says I'm a super handsome dude.  I love all the people I have met and everyone has been super nice to me.  I haven't really had a lot of interaction with the other dogs due to my restricted activity but my foster mom says I am going to start meeting some of the nicer ones and will update you; I have shown some interest in the cats I've been able to see in my crate so I might not need a home with cats.  I have done really well in my crate and in a small kennel without any accidents; I have barked a few times but that's at the cats prancing in front of me.  I am good on leash and really look forward to the controlled walks I get to go on and look forward to longer ones in the near future as I love exploring.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Kaia just turned one in March 2026. She's very active and needs a home with someone who can give her all of the attention. She is house trained and stays in our yard without us outside. We are a very busy family that cannot pay enough attention to her. She's super loving and loves cuddles. She's a big love bug who thinks she is a lap dog.

Story
MATILDA WAS LEFT AT A CHURCH… DON’T LET THAT BE THE END OF HER STORY 💔 🚨 Someone left her at a church door… and walked away. No name. No explanation. No one coming back. Now Matilda sits in a loud, scary shelter trying to make sense of it all… wondering why she was left behind. She’s about 6 years old and only 25 pounds—a tiny, gentle soul who never asked for any of this. And here’s the truth about her: ✨ Once she’s out of the kennel, she is soft, affectionate, and loving ✨ She just wants to be close to someone ✨ Quiet, docile, and incredibly sweet ✨ Dog that will bond deeply once she feels safe She’s nervous in the kennel… but that’s not who she is. That’s fear. That’s heartbreak. 💔 She is not broken—she is just scared and needs someone to show her she’s safe again. Dogs like Matilda don’t do well in shelters… and they don’t get much time. 🙏 PLEASE — Matilda needs a calm, loving home ASAP. Give her the second chance she never got. Because being abandoned shouldn’t be how her story ends. PLEASE TEXT KAREN 4136298152
