Story
The first thing you notice about Littleman? Just how handsome he is! Littleman has no ego about it though-he's content to be part of the pack in his foster home and would never be a snob about his gorgeous coat and his beautiful face. The second thing? Littleman doesn't walk! Why not, you may ask. Well, it seems that his brain didn't fully develop, so the mechanics of walking never made those connections. Is he happy? Absolutely! He can flip himself over, observe the goings on of his foster home and wiggle himself into the best sun spots in the yard. Is he in pain? Absolutely not! Bathroom breaks are a little different-Littleman can go on his own but he doesn't always ask to go outside. So it does take a little clean up in his space. He sure doesn't need walks! Littleman can be a wary of new people and handling since they need to learn his routine. You may be surprised just how easy it is to care for him! If you're interested in learning more about caring for a differently abled dog, we'd love to connect you with his foster!

Story
Zooka is a gentle, loving senior dog who will be a loyal best friend to someone special. This dignified lady has a heart full of affection and a calm, quiet nature. She is a true couch potato who loves nothing more than snuggling up with her favorite people or animals. Zooka is a friendly soul who gets along with everyone she meets, including cats and farm animals—she's even gentle with children! Her easy-going personality makes her the perfect companion for any family. Zooka is a chunky girl with a big heart and an even bigger appetite. She prefers to be indoors, but she will need a fenced yard to call her own as she is smart and social. If left alone outside, with no human or animals to interact with, for long periods of time, she will find a way to socialize. Inside, she does well on her own, with no destruction. While she is a senior, she is healthy and has had regular checkups. Zooka still has a lot of love and life to give. She is a true gem who will bring joy and companionship to her new family. Her ideal home would be one where she can relax and be loved, with plenty of kisses and snuggles. Easy to walk on a leash. Unfortunately, Zooka lost her family life when they had to move because of health issues with their child. A friend stepped up to foster for the family and has stated that she is the most loving and gentle soul, especially around children. No herding or nipping from this girl. If you're looking for a faithful friend to add some warmth and love to your life, Zooka might just be the perfect dog for you. Come and meet this wonderful senior lady today and see for yourself!

Story
Meet Kip: The Border Collie Who Didn't Read the Border Collie Manual If your idea of a perfect Saturday involves sleeping until noon and binge-watching TV, Kip respectfully suggests you keep scrolling. But if you're looking for a running buddy, hiking partner, or someone to guilt you into actually sticking to that "I'm training for my first 10K" promise... Kip has already laced up her imaginary running shoes. At around a year old and 30 pounds (she could stand to gain a few more), Kip is all enthusiasm. She'll happily chase, run, explore, and make sure life never gets boring. Now, Border Collies are rumored to be among the smartest dogs on the planet. I'm not saying Kip is questioning that statistic... but let's just say she's currently earning a solid B student status. She has plenty of enthusiasm, occasionally skips the homework, and sometimes gets distracted by her own feet. Fortunately, she's incredibly eager to please, which counts for a lot. Speaking of Border Collie things... yes, the herding instinct is alive and well. When I throw a ball for my Shepherd mix, Kip immediately appoints herself Assistant Herding Manager and tries to direct traffic by gently nipping at his heels. He couldn't care less because BALL, but she'd do best with someone who understands the breed and can give that busy brain and body an appropriate job. The good news? She's incredibly sweet. Kip is generous with kisses, loves the other dogs in my home, ignored both my foster kittens and barn cat after a quick sniff, and sleeps quietly through the night in her crate. She's also making great progress with her house training and leash manners. Kip isn't looking for someone who wants the easiest dog. She's looking for someone who wants a dog they'll have adventures with. The person who smiles when the trail gets longer, who doesn't mind a little dirt on their shoes, and who knows that life is simply more fun with a slightly goofy Border Collie by their side. Kip is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and ready to find her forever adventure partner. Apply here https://www.centraltexasruffugees.org/copy-of-foster

Story
Mousey is an adorable dog and will make a perfect family pet! She loves all other dogs and romps and plays all day at the ranch with many other breeds...kind of like a dog park in reverse. She came from a very high-kill shelter in California and had been dumped as a puppy in the hard streets of a high-crime area. She had one friend in the world, Sopita, who was also saved by Dogtown. When she first got to the ranch, she could not be separated from her friend, but she quickly found a hundred other buddies and learned that life can be a good thing after all. Mousey loves to play, chase a ball and also fun to cuddle. Please get in touch and meet our precious Mousey who wants a family to call her own.May 22, 2024, 5:48 am
