Story
Darby is truly a one-of-a kind dog! At around 5 years old, she is past the puppy energy phase and just wants to be loved. She is a gorgeous Cattle Dog/ Red Heeler mix. She is very smart and already knows basic training cues, listening to direction very well. She has an adorable silly side and can find joy out of the simplest things; even a balled up towel can successfully entertain her. Darby gets along great with other dogs and is curious about cats but acts very polite and respects boundaries. But she loves humans most of all! She is medium energy. Inside the house, she is relaxed and super content with sitting by your side and lounging on the couch or bed. She also enjoys time outside exploring and going on new adventures. She would be a perfect companion to a semi active person who enjoys walking or hiking. She does wonderful walking on harness and is working on learning how to not pull. She rides perfect in the car, hopping right in and just gazes out the window or lays down during the ride. She is fully potty trained and has never an accident in the house. She does not enjoy the crate but she is nondestructive in the home. If you are interested in adopting Darby, please fill out the adoption application located on our website: www.savingsouthtexas.com/adoptables

Story
Mousey is an adorable dog and will make a perfect family pet! She loves all other dogs and romps and plays all day at the ranch with many other breeds...kind of like a dog park in reverse. She came from a very high-kill shelter in California and had been dumped as a puppy in the hard streets of a high-crime area. She had one friend in the world, Sopita, who was also saved by Dogtown. When she first got to the ranch, she could not be separated from her friend, but she quickly found a hundred other buddies and learned that life can be a good thing after all. Mousey loves to play, chase a ball and also fun to cuddle. Please get in touch and meet our precious Mousey who wants a family to call her own.May 22, 2024, 5:48 am

Little Lucy was saved being given away in front of a store to just anyone. Luckily our good friend and fellow rescuer at Dogtown Ranch scooped up Little Lucy. All of her littermates died, but thanks to Dogtown, Lucy has survived. She is super gentle and a very calm dog for a little puppy. Super dog friendly and gets along with all the other dogs at Dogtown. Please give us a call today to arrange a meeting with our precious Little Lucy.May 22, 2024, 5:48 am

Story
Winnie is a sweetheart! She has a heart of gold and is SO GOOD with kids!🥰We are moving and are heartbroken that we have to rehome Winnie. She has been an amazing, most loving family dog. She would be perfect for someone who has a big back yard, so she can run and play. Or for someone who runs, she would be your running buddy for life (and she would hold you accountable! 😉) She is so loveable! She loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. She’s a 4 year old mix breed, we adopted her when she was a puppy. She is up to date on all her shots, house trained and spayed. She’s healthy as a horse, weighs about 45 pounds and is super smart. She loves kids and other dogs (not sure about cats, she’s never been around any?). She’s s as loyal as they come and would be a wonderful addition to a loving home. We want to do everything we can to help Winnie AND her new home with the transition, therefore, we will include her crate, dog bed, her toys and flea/heartworm prevention medication.

Story
Hello! This is Mochi (mo-chee) and he is around 10 yrs old (could be younger since he was a stray) We are looking to rehome Mochi in preparation for our first child due in May. He might not be the best to have a baby around since he can be reactive to touch Mochi is calm like 80% of the day despite being a mix of a bunch of herding dogs but definitely gets more energetic after work hours. He had heartworms after I initially adopted him 5 years ago but those were treated w no issues. He is not a super cuddly dog but definitely enjoys people and being pet. Just not hugs, being lifted, or his tail being touched while he’s resting. Hes also doesnt have the best track record w other animals especially ones bigger than him (could also be my inexperience w dog behavior though) He plays on the rougher side for some people but he is also very food motivated. I don’t want to risk the chance of my dog reactively biting my child because his tail was accidentally touched.

Story
Meet Paris! This 4.5 month old Cattle Dog mix is one half of an adorable sibling duo, sister to London, and full of playful charm. Paris is a cuddly little pup who loves to be near her people and soak up all the snuggles she can get. She’s got a silly, joyful personality and absolutely loves splashing around in her kiddie pool on hot days. Chewing on toys (and maybe the occasional flip-flop) is one of her favorite pastimes, she’s a typical curious pup, learning what’s hers and what’s not. Paris is smart, affectionate, and already showing signs that she’ll make a loyal companion. Whether she’s zooming around the yard or passed out in your lap, she’s an all-around great girl ready to find her forever home. Story
Hey there, I'm Paco! I'm a young, sweet, and lovable pup with a chill, easy-going vibe. Think of me as your low-maintenance adventure buddy who's always ready for a good time outdoors. I’m all about camping under the stars, hiking through the trails, or just soaking up the fresh air—any outdoor escapade is my kind of date! Water, though? Not really my thing, but I’ll happily watch you splash around from the shore. I get along great with other dogs—love a good playdate or a pack hike. Cats? Well, let’s just say I’m overly curious about them, so a cat-free zone might keep things drama-free. I’ve never had a home before, so I’m still getting the hang of this whole “going inside” thing. It’s a new adventure, but I’m warming up to it—especially since I’ve discovered the joy of sleeping in a nice, comfy, cool bed all night. I think I could get used to this indoor life with the right partner! Speaking of drama, I’m not here for it. I’m looking for a partner who shares my passion for the great outdoors, enjoys good food (treats are my love language), and craves loyal companionship. If you’re ready for a laid-back, adventure-loving sidekick, swipe right on me, Paco! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
🐾 Meet Thayer – Your Perfect Companion 🐾 Thayer is a gentle, loving, and incredibly adaptable pup who’s ready to be your best friend. Whether you’re heading out for a long walk or curling up for a quiet day at home, Thayer will be right by your side. He matches your energy beautifully—playful when you are, restful when you’re not. He’s fantastic on leash with a harness and walks like a pro, even in busy neighborhoods filled with barking dogs, cats, and other distractions. His calm demeanor and zero leash reactivity make every walk a joy. Inside the home, Thayer is just as easygoing. He’s fully house-trained, doesn’t counter surf, and knows how to settle down quietly during meals. He adores affection, offers sweet face kisses, and has quickly shown strong bonds with the people around him. He’s also comfortable being approached while eating and is gentle with toys and chews. Thayer is crate-trained and sleeps soundly through the night. When given the chance to sleep near his humans, he settles even more peacefully, curling up at your feet or quietly finding a cozy spot nearby. He loves walks, fetch, comfy naps, and being near his people. He’s happy, wiggly in the mornings, and truly shines in a calm, loving environment. His favorite moments are simply being close to those he trusts. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, affectionate, and low-maintenance dog, Thayer is the one. He’s calm, consistent, and brings a quiet joy to any space he’s in. Thayer is more than ready for his forever home—and he just might be the perfect fit for yours. 🐶💙

Hilo is a fun loving energetic dog. He cuddles and is wonderful with children. He loves to play and hasn't met a stranger! Hilo's fun place is sitting at your feet or near you on the sofa. He is okay with taking a bath and likes smelling good for the ladies. Hilo will do great in a home where he can receive lots of attention and love. He does still have puppy energy and tendencies, so he would love a family who can work with him on some training and basic manners, where he can get lots of exercise! He acclimates to new environments daily quickly and is ready to find his furever home! Come meet him!
