Story
Jackson was recently surrendered to our care by his owner who had him for 8 years. They just bought a beach house, and he was struggling with the stairs. He has been the perfect gentleman. He is dog friendly but is a bit of a loaner and would be fine being an only dog. We are not sure about how he would be with cats or kids, but we think he would be fine with both. He seems to prefer a quieter environment, so his ideal house probably does not have babies. Jackson is potty-trained and he loves his kennel. His bed is in there and that is where he prefers to go and lay. He has low energy levels. Wouldn't really say he is guarding, but he doesn't enjoy for the other dogs to get over in his space/kennel area (understandably). He's a senior and just prefers to not be in the middle of all the action. He has displayed no leash reactivity, fearfulness, aggression, or separation anxiety since we've had him. He is a sweet senior boy who enjoys to be loved on by his humans. He is low energy and spends most of his day lounging on his bed. He likes to go out in the backyard to check for birds but is just an easy-going guy overall.

Story
Sophie is an 8 year old, 60lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
Hello Seamus! (pronounced Shamus) Seamus is a smooth tri collie approximately 6 years old and about 55 pounds. He came to HCR from a hoarding situation of neglect. He has come a long way with his foster mom learning trust and love. Seamus is happiest outside, running freely and barking greetings to neighboring kitties, kids, and doggies! His favorite place is chillin’ on the sofa. He can be a bit goofy playing with toys, and seeking attention and love with sweet little nose taps. He does well on a leash and short walks. He also enjoys car rides. Seamus’ perfect home would be a peaceful adult home with another calm playful dog to continue to give him confidence. Seamus loves other dogs and is just the sweetest boy! He is shy and will need a little patience and understanding to gain trust with his new owner. Seamus will make the right person a wonderful loving companion. Local adoptions only. Apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org. Texas applicants only.

As with all young pups, he has an on switch too. That’s when the fun begins! Oscar is potty trained and crate trained. Oscar’s furever home would include a sweet fur-sibling to show him the ropes and people to give him love, attention and patience. Oscar would prefer a calm home and to be the center of attention!
