Story
Meet Darlene, the shelter's resident ewok! Just kidding, Darlene doesn't really hail from planet Endor, but she sure bears a physical resemblance to those cute cuddly Star Wars bears! This furry gal is quiet and chill, prefering to sniff out all the smells and relax by your side in the yard over running around and chasing toys. We're not entirely sure, in fact, that Darlene even knows how to dog properly. Tennis ball? Never heard of her. Stuffed toy? Mild interest. Fetch? Forget it. Darlene is looking for a calm home where she can build confidence and learn to live the life a demure lady like herself should be living! If you're looking for an easy-going canine commarade with some seriously killer eyebrows, Darlene is waiting to meet you!

Story
What a character this girl is! Meet Daphne  Daphne was heartbreakingly left behind by her owner after apparently being kept outside in the yard and no longer wanted. Despite everything, this beautiful girl has remained nothing but sweet, loving, and full of life. Daphne deserves a family who will truly cherish her, spend time with her, and show her what real love feels like. During our shelter pull, we noticed a note on her kennel card that had incorrect information on it. Of course, we had to see for ourselves — and Daphne completely proved that note wrong. She was absolutely PERFECT during her temp test. No aggression whatsoever, just a happy-go-lucky girl eager to make friends with every dog she met. We think Daphne is a Collie/Shepherd mix and she’s around 2 years old, maybe even younger. She is incredibly sweet, eager to please, and has such a fun personality. Daphne is currently in boarding, but we would love nothing more than to get this sweet girl into a foster home where she can finally relax and feel loved Please consider fostering Daphne and giving her the second chance she deserves - visit www.scoutshonor.org for more information.May 24, 2026, 2:34 pm

Story
Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. You may apply for Piper at https://houstoncollierescue.org/ado.../adoption-application/We adopt anywhere in Texas, OKC and Louisiana.

Story
Meet the life of the party — Kenny! Kenny is a friendly, medium-sized rough coat male collie with a heart as big as his beautiful smile. At seven years old, this handsome sable and white boy is healthy, happy, and ready to find the loving forever home he deserves. After being surrendered when his elderly owner was hospitalized, Kenny has shown nothing but resilience, sweetness, and an incredible love for people and other dogs alike. Kenny is social, well-adjusted, and always eager to make new friends. He greets his foster parents and strangers with bright eyes, a wagging tail, and joyful enthusiasm. He truly thrives around others and gets along wonderfully with every dog he has met. Whether he’s joining the fun or simply soaking up attention, Kenny brings warmth and happiness everywhere he goes. This sweet boy enjoys walks and does very well on a leash. He loves keeping an eye on the world from the window — especially watching for deer or the latest Amazon delivery — and he’s always ready for a car ride adventure. One of Kenny’s favorite things in the world is having his ears scratched, and he will happily lean in for extra affection. Kenny’s gorgeous full rough coat makes him especially striking, but it’s his loving personality that truly shines. He is neutered, fully vetted, crate trained, and recently learned to be house trained. He currently sleeps comfortably in his crate at night and has adjusted beautifully to life in foster care. Kenny would likely thrive in almost any environment. While he could do well as an only dog, his social nature suggests he would love having another canine companion to share life with. Although he hasn’t been around cats in his foster home, his gentle and accepting temperament indicates he could likely coexist peacefully with them if introduced properly. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a social butterfly, and a gentle soul wrapped in a fluffy collie coat, Kenny may just be your perfect match.
