Story
Vivian is a beautiful young blue Merle smooth coat female collie. She is approximately 2-3 years old and 55 lbs. Vivian is a very special girl that came from a hoarding situation of about 200 collies, Her happy place revolves around other dogs, which make her feel comfortable and confident. She loves to run and play and has a tendency to hop around like a bunny rabbit when playing! She is a very sweet girl but is not a cuddler. She is very cautious around humans and is progressing. Vivian is house trained and uses a doggie door. Vivian needs a home that is calm and relatively quiet. It is a must that she has a furry friend that will give her the comfort and confidence she needs. Her family will need patience and understanding to continue her progress. Texas applicants only.

Introducing Beatrice and her Brood! Bea was very pregnant and rescued from a shelter. A shelter is no place for a momma and her babies. Beatrice is about 1.5 years old and 50% collie. We do not know who the daddy is but the babies seem to have some Aussie and maybe border collie. These puppies are a healthy and happy "Brood"! Bea has done a wonderful job training her "brood". They were born May 6, 2024. The puppies will be up to date on vaccines and micro-chipped. Fenced yard required. Apply at www.HoustonCollieRescue.org

Story
Marty is a gorgeous boy with a heart of gold, literally! When he came to rescue, he had a very serious heart murmur, but thanks to the amazing medical team at Texas A&M and the kindness and generosity of our supporters, he was able to have an expensive procedure done on his heart to help fix it. Now he has a much happier and brighter future ahead, and his condition is being managed now by taking one simple and very affordable medication. Marty is the sweetest boy! He loves everyone he meets and gets along with dogs and people of all sizes. He has never met a cat, but his foster mom thinks he would likely do well with them with a proper introduction. He is playful and likes to go on short walks. He has a tendency to walk right next to his human with or without a leash. He can be a bit of ham and loves to give you his paw or roll around on his back to get attention. He is sure to bring lots of love and smiles to anyone he meets. Marty is around three years old, 60 lbs., and is crate and house trained. He sometimes barks a little bit when he first goes in the crate but settles quickly. He should be crated when not supervised, at least initially, because every once in a while he gets up to some puppy shenanigans like finding a slipper instead of a toy to play with. If you give this sweet boy a chance, he is sure to steal your heart.

Story
I rescued Bronco from a shelter in October of 2022. His previous owners abandoned him in San Marcos, as a puppy, where his chip identified his original home was Phoenix, Arizona. He was just over a year when I adopted him, and turned 2 years old recently. He was born on September 22, 2021. I am looking for adopters that have an active lifestyle, and the time and patience to give him the love he deserves. Bronco is a very playful dog that loves car rides, long walks, naps on the bed, and the endless pursuit of catching a squirrel. He is potty and kennel trained, but also does well on his own and I have not had issues of tearing up things. He can definitely have his moments where he gets excited, but more often than not he listens when you communicate and loves to people please.

Story
Dollie is a two year old sweetie. Always close by and ready to get her head scratched. Super friendly and chill. We don't think she'd been on to many car rides but she is getting more practice. It also didn't appear that she'd gone up or down many flights of stairs when she first came in, but she's a pro now! Great on a leash, comes when she's called. She's part Collie and part Husky and has those gorgeous Husky eyes. Her fur also seems more Husky-like than Collie-like. No guarantees but we don't think she sheds much--not like our Collies! She gets along great other 2 dogs in her foster home.  Dollie hasn't been around cats to our knowledge, but she's very laid back, so we'd expect she'd do fine. Couldn't find a friendlier dog!  We are taking applications for her. A fenced yard is required.  Please apply at freedomcollierescue.org ##1989406##
