Story
What a character this girl is! Meet Daphne  Daphne was heartbreakingly left behind by her owner after apparently being kept outside in the yard and no longer wanted. Despite everything, this beautiful girl has remained nothing but sweet, loving, and full of life. Daphne deserves a family who will truly cherish her, spend time with her, and show her what real love feels like. During our shelter pull, we noticed a note on her kennel card that had incorrect information on it. Of course, we had to see for ourselves — and Daphne completely proved that note wrong. She was absolutely PERFECT during her temp test. No aggression whatsoever, just a happy-go-lucky girl eager to make friends with every dog she met. We think Daphne is a Collie/Shepherd mix and she’s around 2 years old, maybe even younger. She is incredibly sweet, eager to please, and has such a fun personality. Daphne is currently in boarding, but we would love nothing more than to get this sweet girl into a foster home where she can finally relax and feel loved Please consider adopting Daphne and giving her the second chance she deserves - visit www.scoutshonor.org for more information.August 30, 2026, 9:28 pm

Story
Pretty Penny Penny is an 8-year-old female rough collie with the softest coat and the sweetest personality. She loves gentle pets, kind words, and someone who will tell her how beautiful and special she is several times a day. Penny is happiest simply being near her people and will quietly follow you from room to room, content to be your loyal sidekick. She is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance collie who craves love and attention but doesn't need a lot of activity to be happy. As a senior girl, Penny moves at a slower pace and has some arthritis in her back legs, so she would thrive in a home that appreciates a laid-back lifestyle. She is currently on a fitness journey and has been steadily losing weight, which is improving her mobility every day. Penny enjoys short, leisurely walks and walks nicely on a leash. As an added bonus, she has no interest in jumping on furniture or greeting guests with muddy paws! Penny would prefer to be the only dog in her home. She socializes well with other dogs in neutral settings, such as on walks or in the backyard, but can be protective of her personal space when sharing a home with another dog. She is not possessive with people and absolutely loves human companionship. This sweet girl is incredibly people-oriented and has wonderful house manners. She is never destructive, enjoys spending time in her kennel, and can be left alone indoors for several hours without issue. Penny is looking for a family that understands the needs of a senior dog, including limited stairs, rugs or carpeting for secure footing, and a little help getting into the car when needed. Because of her mobility limitations, Penny would do best in a home with children over the age of six. She has not been cat-tested, but given her easygoing personality and low prey drive, we do not anticipate any issues. If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who will reward your kindness with endless devotion, Pretty Penny may be the perfect match for you.

Story
Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. You may apply for Piper at https://houstoncollierescue.org/ado.../adoption-application/We adopt anywhere in Texas, OKC and Louisiana.

Story
Sophie is an 11 year old, 70lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
This beautiful soul has been on an incredible journey, enduring a challenging stay at the shelter, waiting and hoping for a loving forever home. Despite his stunning looks and heartwarming personality, Apollo remained overlooked for months. He's a dog who's seen the worst of it yet still holds onto hope and love. Finally liberated from the confines of the shelter, Apollo's enthusiasm for life knows no bounds. His heart is filled with joy, and he's ready to share that boundless affection with a family who sees the gem he truly is. Apollo's a big boy with an even bigger heart. He adores the company of other dogs and revels in playtime. However, he thrives on structure, guidance, and plenty of activity. Smart as a whip, Apollo's intelligence and quick learning skills will astound you. This sweet boy, at around 6-7 years old and weighing around 70lbs, deserves a home that matches his spirit—a place with experienced, loving humans who understand the needs of a larger dog like him. If your heart swells at the thought of giving Apollo the home he dreams of, please consider fostering or adopting him. Start the journey by filling out an application at www.scoutshonor.org. Your love and compassion could be the key to unlocking Apollo's happily ever after. Story
Gypsy and her sister Stormi were dumped with their mom in a hay field with no food, water or shelter.  We estimate gypsy's birth date to be April 1st. 2026 and think she is a mix of Shepherd, boxer, cattle dog maybe. Estimated adult weight is 45 lb. She is very good about using puppy pads. Outdoor potty training is in the works. She plays well with her sister and with the small adult dogs in her Foster house. She is also been exposed extensively to cats and shows them the proper respect so far. She loves to play with toys, collects them in her bed, and chews on chewies. Chewies, lots of them. At night she has free rein of the kitchen and the breakfast room and after a little bit of complaining puts yourself to bed. Foster Mom leaves a small light on in the kitchen so she could see if she needs to find the puppy pads at night. She was shy when first rescued but has warmed up to her Foster family quite well. Right now. She's mostly interested in being a puppy, which means running around, playing with the other animals, carrying toys around the house, chewing on things and barking if her sister has the toy she wants.  Right now her baby teeth are very sharp and she thinks hands are like toys, there to chew on so older, considerate children who know how to handle puppy antics would be more appropriate.  The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, she will be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in her, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com to get more information on how to fill out an application and have a great meet and greet to see if we are a match made in heaven. Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies) which includes State of Texas sales tax. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.   Since all of our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday! August 30, 2026, 4:42 am
