Her gentle nature shines through in her unwavering love for people; she craves affection and thrives on human touch. But it's not just people she adores-her heart extends to every canine companion she meets, finding joy in playful romps and tail-wagging friendships. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Leona! Leona is a 1-year-old, 54 lb Collie/Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. With her stunning, fox-like features and expressive face, she’s as beautiful as she is full of personality! Leona is smart, sweet, loving, and a little silly — but she also comes with a big dose of energy! This active girl is always ready for adventure and will need a home that can keep up with her physically and mentally. Hiking, exploring, training, and staying busy are right up her alley. She does well with other dogs and enjoys playtime, though she can be a bit bossy and forward in her play style. Leona likes to play rough and can take on a bit of a “leader” role, so she’ll do best with dogs who can match her energy and confidence. She is also strong and still working on her manners, so continued training and guidance will be important. Because busy environments can be overstimulating for her, Leona would do best in a home outside of dense city living — somewhere she can have space, structure, and a consistent routine to help her thrive. With her intelligence and eagerness, Leona has so much potential to be an incredible companion for someone with working breed experience and who’s ready to invest in her training and give her the active lifestyle she craves. If you’re looking for a beautiful, high-energy adventure partner with a big personality, Leona might be your girl! Leona is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Willow! The sweetest shadow you’ll ever have! Willow is a gentle, 10 month old girl weighing about 38 pounds. She has a beautiful black coat, with a patch of white on her chest and adorable speckled toes. She’s a calm, loving soul who settles easily into a calm home life and just wants to be close to her person. This little lady is fully crate trained, wonderfully polite, and loves nothing more than curling up on the couch or quietly dozing under your desk while you work from home. Willow can be a bit timid at first, but she warms up quickly and soon becomes your loyal companion. Once she trusts you, she’ll follow you everywhere with her signature, soft, sweet presence. Willow gets along with other calm dogs, enjoys being outdoors, and—being young—would make the perfect adventure buddy for someone who loves exploring. Whether you’re heading out for a weekend hike or simply relaxing at home, Willow is happy as long as she’s by your side. Willow lacks confidence outside and needs a capable handler who can help her feel less anxious in her environment. She needs another dog in the home to help build confidence. Willow would prefer a more calm home with older kids. She is just settling into her foster home and while she is doing well, we know she is still decompressing and trying to adjust to her new situation. When she moves to her forever home, a little patience will help her a lot. If you’re looking for a tenderhearted, easy-going companion who will bring warmth and quiet joy into your life, Willow might just be your girl. Willow is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $525   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Meet Leia: The Sweet and Spirited Shepherd Mix! Leia is a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality! At 59 pounds, this clever and goofy girl will keep you smiling with her quirky “woof woof” monologues and entertaining antics. While Leia loves to play, her true passion is cozy naps—and she’s ready to find a home that will shower her with love and let her thrive. Rescued at just 2 months old after being dumped in a dangerous Houston neighborhood, Leia and her sister were lucky to be taken in by kind-hearted people. She’s been thriving ever since, mastering tricks like house training, Sit, Shake, Leave it, and working hard on her “Stay.” Now, Leia is looking for her forever home! Leia is a playful and affectionate pup who loves wrestling with her sister, going on walks, and enjoying peanut butter popsicles. She’s also a bit of an opera singer, serenading you during mealtimes or when she’s in her crate and needs a potty break! While she can be a little shy in new situations (like at the vet), her determination shines through as she bravely faces the world, all for the chance to be with her people and her favorite toys. Leia is a true sweetheart who will fill your life with endless kisses and devotion. She’s ready to join a loving family that will embrace her gentle spirit and support her as she blossoms into the confident, courageous dog she’s meant to be. Leia is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and dewormed. She is currently being fostered in Texas but is available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest through transport. Meet Luke: The Fun-Loving, Tail-Chasing Dynamo! Don’t let the name fool you—Luke is a sweet girl who will steal your heart with her endless energy and goofy antics! At 1 year old old and 60 lbs, Luke is a Shepherd mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Whether she’s chasing her tail, practicing gymnastics, or hiding her toy in a secret spot (and forgetting about it), Luke will have you laughing all day long. Luke’s happy demeanor is matched by her eager-to-please attitude. She loves her walks, meeting new friends (both human and canine), and is always excited to make new connections—she knows no strangers! This brave little adventurer is as determined as she is sweet. Rescued at just 2 months old from a high-traffic neighborhood in Houston, she’s come a long way since then. She’s mastered commands like Sit, Shake, and Leave it, and is working hard on her “Stay” and house training. Luke even invented her own trick, “Give me ten!” where she gives you a double-high-five—talk about a show-off! Luke might just think she’s a cat! She loves sitting in boxes, perching on high places like picnic tables, and watching the world go by from your lap (if she fits!). Among her favorite things are bouncy toys, peanut butter popsicles, tummy rubs, running full speed, and splashing in the pool. She’s always the first to lead the charge into new adventures, and her zest for life is contagious. Luke is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and dewormed. Currently being fostered in Texas, she’s available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest through transport.
