Now tell me that's not just the best size ever!!! I do great with most other pups I've met but haven't been cat tested yet. I am also house trained. Good with kids, dogs and housetrained... that's a pretty great bonus for my new family. I'd love to be your 'Pilot' for any and all our adventures, making sure we arrive safely at our destinations. Story
Animal Profile: Casper is an estimated 3-year-old 48 lb neutered male collie lab mix -- he has a longer coat and a playful personality. He is friendly with other dogs and people but is active and working on jumping up so no little kids would be best, for now. He is getting the hang of leash training and does well in the crate. More info to come as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Who's looking for a great hiking, running , walking buddy who would love to snuggle with you afterwards? Casper has plenty of playful energy, he can be calm and lazy and he does having access to his crate. He is a very loving dog who likes both other people and other dogs. He really wants to bond and is eager to please -- he wants to be the besets boy for you. Casper would love a home with active folks who present him with confident leadership!  Casper is sweet and quiet in his crate, is potty trained and doesn't chew. We are working on him not walking in zig zags -- he is sensitive and attentive and does not pull. Casper does get somewhat excited and is learning not to jump, but young kids would likely get knocked over, so families without kids or with older kids are preferred. He ill be fine as an only dog, but would be happy in a home with fur siblings. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from our partner Must Luv Mutts in Texas and arriving via K9 Transport on 03/30/2024 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.April 16, 2024, 12:40 pm

Story
My name is Kevin and I’m a male 1-year-old Jindo mix and I've been on quite the journey. I hail from the countryside, where I was born alongside my siblings after our mother gave birth. Unfortunately, we were left abandoned and found ourselves in a shelter. Life in the shelter has been a bit challenging for me, making it take a little time for me to adapt to new surroundings. I might seem a bit shy at first, but give me a day or two, and you'll see how quickly I warm up. I love getting attention and am not shy about asking for some cuddles and affection. I've made friends with other dogs here, so you can bet that our introduction will be filled with friendly greetings and playful antics. While I might not be a pro at walks just yet, I'm cool with quiet places. Loud noises can be a bit overwhelming for me, causing me to flatten myself on the ground. If you're looking for a calm companion who enjoys a nice stroll and some relaxation afterward, I'm your girl. I may have a burst of energy, but after a good walk, I'm more than happy to chill and relax. Sudden loud noises might make me jumpy, but with a patient and understanding friend like you, I know I'll become more confident. I'm ready to embark on a new adventure with a loving family or individual. Could that be you? I can't wait to bring some joy, loyalty, and a wagging tail into your life! Story
Three-year-old Elliot is in love with life - fun, upbeat, happy, outgoing and friendly. Elliot was rescued from South Korea and now looking for his second chance and forever home with Greyhound Pets in Woodinville. He is on the higher energy side and will need an active home and adopters who like to exercise him. Elliot is eager to please and very smart, but needs a leader to continue his training on manners (which we too are working with him on). He is elegant and agile, and so fun to watch him romp and play! Elliot gets along well with the other greyhounds, but we’ve not had him with other dogs. With slow-intros we think he will be fine with doggie friends. Elliot who is 7olbs, will need a home without cats. We are not recommending Elliot with young children as he can get quite exuberant when playing and might unintentionally hurt a child. Elliot would do best in a home with a fenced yard rather than an apartment/condo/townhome. Elliot is neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated. Email Moira at fastpaws1998@gmail.com for an adoption application and to meet this amazing boy! You just have to meet delightful and darling Elliot!

Story
Meet Alfie If you're looking for a well-rounded companion, look no further than Alfie! He's just as content curling up next to you (or on your lap) while watching a movie as he is playing tug-o-war. He enjoys being outside and smelling new things on his walks. He is completely unfazed by squirrels, great on a slip leash, and would make a great running buddy! Alfie is always down for a road trip and recently had a blast at the beach with his foster mom! He loads up easily to "get up or "up and knows other basic commands. He's house trained and sleeps in a kennel if needed. His best friend is his foster brother, Oliver, who is a 4 year old, 70 lb Catahoula mix. Alfie tends to get along best with younger dogs that are submissive and playful like Oliver. We suggest a meet n greet with resident dogs. He has been great with children (5+) who have come up to pet him, gently licking their faces. Alfie seems to be under the impression that he's supposed to catch a ball with his paws instead of his mouth. He hasn't quite mastered that method, so he just ends up losing track of the ball and making everyone laugh at his goofy quirk. He also loves to be petted and will nudge you if you stop, indicating that you're not done petting him just yet! The ideal home for Alfie would be a house with a fenced yard. He loves being in the same room as his human(s). He's currently left inside for 6-8 hours a day, sleeping by the door or on the couch until his foster gets home. He gets excited to go to sleep in his kennel at night. Alfie doesn't know he's 50lbs, as that doesn't stop him from wanting to be held or cradled like a baby. His foster mom says he is the sweetest boy whose big brown eyes tell you that he just wants to be included in the family, knowing he'll never be left on his own again. To see more pictures and videos of Alfie, copy and paste this link. You must apply directly for Alfie by clicking the “Apply for Adoption” button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-230 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.

Story
Tommy is a cute and cuddly little boy with an eternally cute face. He was found on the streets with a tumor about 5.5" in diameter in his belly. He lasted a year in treatment with chemotherapy and medication and needed surgery to remove the remaining encapsulated mass. In addition to needing special food to break up a stone bladder, he has ultrasounds to make sure he don't get sediment in his bladder every three months. He is currently a healthy, happy, loving and tender dog. He is very loyal and protective, intelligent and playful. He don't get along well with alpha male dogs, but plays well with puppies and females. He is sociable with children and adults. Tommy is a Border collie mix, and is smaller than a Border collie. When you talk to him he makes a cute and cuddly face, ducks his head and rolls his eyes upwards, I think he knows he is cute and takes advantage of that. Tommy is a dog to spoil, to cuddle and to give him lots of love, since his first family didn't give him all he deserved. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
Caspian is a fixed male 10 yr old cattle dog mix. He is up to date on all vaccines, and has no health issues. Like most heelers, Caspian is a shadow dog, becoming intensely devoted to his human companion, and is often wary of strangers. He would happily become someone’s next running or hiking companion, and is energetic, loyal, and intelligent. He has only just started slowing from miles long hikes. He will exhaust himself with fetch or frisbee. He is well trained, and not destructive; he will only chew on toys or balls he has been given. He is house broken, having been an indoor dog his whole life. Caspian would do very well in a home with a medium/larger submissive dog companion. He is indifferent to cats, however he could be prone to herd. Caspian is looking for his next chapter with someone who has the time to devote to his energy, a firm and kind attitude, and has a good understanding of the patience it takes to bond with a stubborn heeler. He will be a faithful companion.
