Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Leona! Leona is a 1-year-old, 54 lb Collie/Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. With her stunning, fox-like features and expressive face, she’s as beautiful as she is full of personality! Leona is smart, sweet, loving, and a little silly — but she also comes with a big dose of energy! This active girl is always ready for adventure and will need a home that can keep up with her physically and mentally. Hiking, exploring, training, and staying busy are right up her alley. She does well with other dogs and enjoys playtime, though she can be a bit bossy and forward in her play style. Leona likes to play rough and can take on a bit of a “leader” role, so she’ll do best with dogs who can match her energy and confidence. She is also strong and still working on her manners, so continued training and guidance will be important. Because busy environments can be overstimulating for her, Leona would do best in a home outside of dense city living — somewhere she can have space, structure, and a consistent routine to help her thrive. With her intelligence and eagerness, Leona has so much potential to be an incredible companion for someone with working breed experience and who’s ready to invest in her training and give her the active lifestyle she craves. If you’re looking for a beautiful, high-energy adventure partner with a big personality, Leona might be your girl! Leona is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Wilson! Wilson is looking for someone to grow old with.  He is a 9 year-old herding mix ( Border Collie, Cattle Dog, McNab, and a little mystery mixed in), and after spending his entire life with a family who was home with him nearly all the time, he's now searching for a new beginning. He's the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much. A soft bed. A few treats. A predictable routine. Most of all, someone to simply be with. Wilson is housebroken, rides great in the car, and once he trusts you, he's an incredibly sweet, affectionate companion. He'll quietly follow you from room to room, happy just knowing you're nearby. He's not demanding—he just loves being with his people. He can be shy with strangers and needs a little time to warm up, but kindness and patience are rewarded with unwavering loyalty. He'd be happiest as your one and only, though he may do well with calm, respectful dogs. (Cats are unknown.) Wilson could stand to lose a few pounds, so he'd love a family who will enjoy leisurely walks and help him get back into shape. And if you happen to have treats... he'll gladly show you the tricks he knows.  Senior dogs have so much love left to give. Wilson isn't looking for perfection—just someone willing to give him the chance to feel safe, loved, and home again. If you think Wilson might be the companion you've been looking for, please send us a message. And if you can't adopt, sharing his post could help him find the family he deserves. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Welcome Kai to CCPAL Rescue foster program.  Kai is a very sweet girl, she is just about 1 year old. She is a German Shepherd/Smooth Collie (BorderCollie)  She weighs about 60 pounds and should stay medium sized.  She is good on a leash, good with other dogs.  She is mostly with her sister in her foster home.  She uses a doggy door and is good on leash and in a car.  She is fully potty trained and very smart.  She is good with children and likes toys.  She would be best with someone that is active and outdoorsy.  She would be fine as an only dog or would be good with another dog.  She will be a fun one to train.  She has good eye contact and attention to who is speaking with her.  She has one upright ear and one that is not.  She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed and ready for her forever home.  She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast.  She would be a great family companion and could go with children.  We like children to be 8 or older.  Please be patient when you put in your application. Adoption fee for Kia is $400 and transport is $200.  This is a very desirable breed mix.   We are being very careful in vetting people and we are a small group of volunteers. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Welcome Max to CCPAL Rescue. He is a Smooth Coated Collie/Heeler mix is our best guess. He weighs 35 pounds and he loves other dogs. He is very dog friendly with all types of other dogs. He is friendly with the horses and the donkeys in his foster home. He is good on a leash, potty trained and super affectionate. He knows sit and does it very well. He has been with a vet that had PTSD and is sometimes too rough with him. He is very loving to women and also loves men after being at the Rescue for only a week or two. He loves all people and once he knows he is safe bonds deeply and is extremely loyal and devoted companion. He would be great for a hiker, walker, jogger or any one who wants a good companion to take with you. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Boudreaux the sweetest Southern gentleman you'll ever meet! At 8-9 years old and around 40lbs, Boudreaux has perfected the balance between playful and relaxed. He's a laid-back guy who loves spending time with his people, whether that's lounging by your side or chasing after a tennis ball in a game of fetch. Boudreaux is looking for a new beginning after spending his entire life with the person who raised him from a puppy. Sadly, due to his owner's declining health, they can no longer care for him. This decision was made out of love, and now Boudreaux is hoping to find another family to spend his golden years with. This handsome gentleman has never met a stranger. He absolutely loves people and greets everyone like an old friend. Boudreaux has a calm, laid-back personality, but don't let his age fool you—he still lights up when it's time to play fetch! He also loves cooling off in the water, making him the perfect companion for lake days, backyard kiddie pools, or simply splashing around on a warm afternoon. This sweet boy is also great with other dogs and is fully housebroken, making him an easy addition to just about any home. With his gentle personality, good manners, and loving heart, Boudreaux is ready to spend his life bringing joy, companionship, and plenty of tail wags to a lucky family. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will happily join you for a game of fetch, a splash in the water, or a relaxing evening at home, Boudreaux is waiting to meet you!

Story
Animal Profile: Nelson is a 3-year-old 28 lb hunky little short stack with a big personality and an even bigger smile. Originally labeled as a “Shiba Inu” mix, Nelson has since been DNA tested and is a Pit Bull/Cattle Dog/Fox Terrier mix, which explains his charm and his smarts. Nelson is being returned to the rescue after a year and a half due to his incompatibility with one of the two children in the home. Nelson does not appreciate hugs and cuddles especially while he is sleeping and even with multiple warnings including snaps and tooth contact, has never offered an injury inflicting bite. With his winning grin, compact build, and engaging personality, Nelson is ready to be someone’s loyal companion. He just needs the right match to thrive. Foster Update: Nelson is an active, engaging, and intelligent dog who truly wants a job to do and a person to do it with. He thrives when his days include a healthy balance of mental stimulation, physical exercise, and clear, confident leadership. This handsome boy has already put in a lot of work to set himself up for success. He has completed a board-and-train program with Mayhem Dog Training and is fully e-collar trained, giving him a strong foundation in structure and communication. Nelson also did well in a daycare setting with Rocket Dogs, where he enjoyed appropriate social interaction and play. He is currently in foster care with On The Mark Balanced Training in Snohomish, WA, where he gets to enjoy an active, structured lifestyle that suits him well. His routine includes off-leash adventures, treadmill workouts, and time with a well-managed pack of dogs—activities that help him stay balanced, fulfilled, and engaged. Nelson would do best in an adult-only home, either as an only dog or with a calm, well-balanced canine companion. His ideal adopter is someone with e-collar experience or someone open to learning and continuing his training journey. He responds very well to structure and will thrive with consistency and clear expectations. Ongoing support is available after adoption: Joy from Mayhem Dog Training is happy to provide follow-up lessons to help ensure a smooth and successful transition into his new home. Nelson’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. He was originally found as a stray and taken to a shelter in early September 2024. When no one came forward to claim him, he captured the heart of a rescue partner who saw his potential and invested in his future. Now, after everything he’s learned and overcome, Nelson is ready for his fresh start with the right family. He’s looking for someone who will appreciate his drive, guide his energy, and give him the structure he needs to thrive. In return, Nelson will offer loyalty, enthusiasm, and a true partnership built on trust and teamwork.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog was returned to the rescue after 18 months in a home, originally transported from Caddo Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana via Tail Lights Rescue Project in 2024. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care in the Seattle area.  August 10, 2026, 7:17 pm

PLEASE NOTE: We are a Texas-based rescue. This dog is currently in Texas and will be transported to your state once adopted. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Meet Walker! 🖤🤍 Walker is a 3-month-old Lab/Heeler mix with a sleek black coat accented by adorable white splashes and spots that make him as unique as his personality. Walker is a gentle, timid little guy who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Because of his shy nature, he'll thrive with a patient family willing to let him build confidence at his own pace. Once he learns to trust, Walker has all the potential to become a loyal, devoted companion. Walker came from an unfortunate situation where two unaltered dogs produced multiple litters. Sadly, previous litters were lost due to a lack of proper care, so this litter was surrendered to give them the opportunity for the happy, healthy lives they deserve. Now, Walker is looking for a forever home where he'll be given the love, stability, and kindness he's always deserved. If you have a gentle heart and are willing to help a shy puppy blossom, Walker will reward you with a lifetime of quiet love and unwavering loyalty.
