Meet Piper. Piper is a 37 lb border collie/ golden retriever mix who has recently arrived in Wisconsin looking for her forever home! She’s super smart & super sweet & is well ahead of the curve, having had a fantastic foster before coming to Wisconsin. At 7 months old (you’d never believe that she’s still a puppy), she’s crate trained, potty trained, knows to sit, stay, walk on a leash, rides well in a car & even waits her turn at dinner & treat time. She’s also totally trustworthy in the house!Piper is currently fostered with 4 larger dogs & gets along great with them, plus loves everybody, including kids!As Piper’s herding dog traits are predominant, she has loads & loads of energy & needs to run, so unfortunately, will not do well in an apartment. Meet Cassie ! She is a Wisconsin dog that is hoping for a new home. She is still with her current family and they would like our help in finding a new match. As she is a courtesy listing, there is no adoption fee, however the family would like potential adopters to complete our application and approval process. She does well with larger dogs and has been great with a 5-year-old child she knows well. She has also done fine on outings to stores and outdoor restaurants. Her experience with cats is limited, but the cats she has been around were not comfortable with her. We think she may do fine with dog-friendly cats and a gradual introduction. At home, she is crate trained, affectionate, playful, and loves attention. She’s generally quiet, although she can get vocal when someone new comes over or when she’s excited entering a new home. We don’t have any significant behavior concerns. The biggest consideration is simply her energy level — she’ll be happiest with someone who can give her regular activity and engagement. A fenced yard, another playful dog, or someone who is home a good portion of the day would all be great, but I don’t think any one of those necessarily needs to be a requirement if the overall fit is right.
