Story
This sweet little angel has been with me since she was 8 weeks old. She's 3 years old now. My schedule has become so busy I'm not able to give her the attention she deserves. She's house-trained and does well with other dogs in house. She's a bit of a cat chaser, but with training she would stop. Very smart and responsive with training and time. She's actually the sweetest little thing and I'm so sad to have to re-home her. She's half Pembroke Welsh Corgi and half Shiba Inu. Her parents are pure bred. Spayed, chipped, and shots up to date. Reach out with any questions.

Story
Available for Adoption – Darren!  Darren is on the search for his forever home! This happy, energetic, and fun-loving guy has a personality that’s larger than life. His goofy antics and playful spirit are sure to keep his family laughing and smiling every day. While Darren has plenty of energy, he is also great at entertaining himself with toys or spending time exploring and playing in the backyard. He is kind, affectionate, loves to give kisses and enjoys cuddling with his family He requires a home with a fenced yard and would especially love a family that enjoys outdoor adventures. Beneath his playful nature is a sweet, gentle soul who is eager to learn and loves making his people happy. Darren has a slightly deformed tail, which was either present from birth or is the result of an old injury that healed on its own. A veterinary examination confirmed that he is healthy, comfortable, and requires nothing further. Beneath his playful nature is a sweet, gentle soul who is eager to learn and loves making his people happy. Darren is crate trained, potty trained in his foster home, and leash trained. He does well with children however he is dog selective and would rather be an only dog or the Alpha. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to join your adventures and fill your home with laughter, Darren may be the perfect match! He has had 2 vet visits, is neutered, Microchipped, UTD on all vaccinations, had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), 2 dewormings, and a 1 fecal tests. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. Story
Hi there! My name’s Nick—yes, like “Saint Nick,” though I am more tail wags than toy bags. I am about 20-25 pounds of love, fluff, and mystery lineage. Think labrador charm with the build of a corgi on casual Friday. Me and my brother Skipper were recently surrendered to the pound by our previous owner. The people here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue do not know why they did that to us. I am learning how to get along without my brother and to tell the truth, it is a little scary without him, but if I am ever going to find a cozy corner in someone's heart to call my own I will need to do that by myself. Here is the thing: I did not grow up around many people, so I am what they call “a little shy.” But give me a minute (and maybe a piece of cheese?), and I will be following you around like we have been besties since belly rubs were invented. Cameras freak me out—I know, I know, I am cute, but I prefer to be admired in real life rather so I made it hard for the folks here to get really great photos of me. A few facts about me: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped—basically ready for a lifetime commitment I get along well with other dogs so if you have another dog that would be awesome!  House-trained? Probably but I might need a little refresher training when I get to my new home.  You might ask, what about cats?  Well, that is unknown territory, but I am open to negotiations. My previous owners did not leave any clues and there are none here at the rescue to really be able to find out with. If you have got patience, a comfy couch, and a pocket full of treats, I have got love, loyalty, and some very expressive ears to offer. Wanna meet me? Email mike@caaronline.org to set up a date—I promise to be awkwardly adorable..  With hopeful paws we will meet soon   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Story
Hi there! My name is Vinny, and I’m a handsome little corgi with a big heart and an even bigger hope: finding my forever home. According to my paperwork, I’m about 2½ years old, which means I’m past the tiny puppy stage but still young enough to have lots of happy years, adventures, and cuddle time ahead of me. I may not be able to tell you every detail of my past, but I do know one thing for sure: I’m meant to be in a home, not waiting in a shelter. Somewhere out there is the family I’ve been hoping for, and I’d really love to meet them soon. Before coming here, I was at the Humane Society of Yuma, though no one seems to know exactly how I ended up there. I might have been a stray, or maybe I was an owner surrender. That part is a mystery. But even if my story started with some unanswered questions, I know where I am now: safe with Central Arizona Animal Rescue, where the people taking care of me say I’m a very good boy. They’ve made sure I have a warm place to stay until I find the loving home I truly belong in. And trust me, I know I belong in a home—with people to love, a cozy place to nap, and a life that feels permanent and secure. So far, I’ve been doing really well with the smaller male and female dogs I’ve met here, which is a great sign if you already have a friendly little pup at home. As for cats, nobody knows yet, so that would be something to keep in mind. Right now, I seem to be pretty laid back and calm. I like taking things easy, and I’ve shown everyone here that I can be sweet, gentle, and easy to be around. Of course, once I settle into a real home and start to feel comfortable, you may see more of my personality shine through. Maybe I’ll be playful, maybe I’ll be goofy, maybe I’ll be the king of lounging on a soft dog bed—I guess we’ll have to find out together. The good news is that I’m ready to start my new life. I’m current on my vaccinations, I’ve been neutered, and I even have a microchip now—so I should never be able to get lost again. Everyone here has worked hard to make sure I’m safe, healthy, and prepared for the day my forever family comes for me. All that’s missing now is you. If you think I might be the right dog for your home, please don’t wait too long. Corgis are very popular, and I’ll probably find a new home quickly. If you’re interested in meeting me, please email Central Arizona Animal Rescue at mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. They are available by appointment only, and email is the best way to get started. I may not know exactly how I got here, but I do know I’m ready for what comes next. I’m ready for a family who will love me, keep me safe, and make sure I never have to wonder where I belong again. I’m ready for walks, quiet evenings, soft blankets, kind voices, and the simple happiness of being someone’s dog. If you’ve been looking for a loyal little companion with a sweet nature and a hopeful heart, maybe I’m the one you’ve been waiting for. My name is Vinny, and I can’t wait to meet my forever family.   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Story
Meet Sancho  This adorable 1-year-old/20lb corgi mix is sweet, gentle, and eager to trust. Sancho is the total package — he’s great with dogs, cats, and kids, making him an easy addition to many types of homes. He is kennel trained, housebroken, leash trained, and loves spending time with his people. Whether it’s playtime in the yard, relaxing on the couch, or tagging along on adventures, Sancho is happiest just being near those he loves. While he is friendly and affectionate, Sancho can be a little unsure in new situations at first, so he will need a patient family willing to give him time to build confidence and feel safe in his new environment. Once he settles in, his fun-loving and loyal personality truly shines. Sancho is looking for a family that will show him the kindness and stability he deserves — and in return, he’ll be the most devoted companion you could ask for.        All Cooper’s Chance adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm negative, de-wormed, micro chipped and housebroken. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please visit our website at cooperschance.org for additional information. We are a 501c3 non profit, your donations save lives and are 100% tax deductible.July 18, 2026, 2:01 pm

Story
Nine years ago, a client had a litter of puppies, and I had no intention of bringing another dog home. Then I met her. While her littermates played, she climbed onto my stomach, curled up, and fell asleep. I knew immediately she was coming home with me. For the last nine years, she has been an incredible companion. She has shared karaoke sessions, celebrations, and countless happy moments. She greets every day with zoomies, affection, and unwavering loyalty. She is gentle, loving, and thrives on human connection. Everyone who meets her is drawn to her sweet personality.Making this decision is heartbreaking, but our lifestyle now involves more travel, and she spends more time alone than is ideal. Because she experiences separation anxiety, she would be happiest in a home where someone is around most of the time. She deserves the companionship she loves, and my hope is to find a family who will cherish her as much as we have and give her the wonderful next chapter she deserves.
