Story
** If you are interested in adopting River, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet River, probably one of the silliest dog you'll ever meet! River came to Farfel's Rescue from a small high-kill shelter in TX. He was picked up as a stray, and we received a plea to get him out of the shelter.River then got a ticket to Colorado to start a new life and find a loving home. River is believed to be a Corgi / Schnauzer mix, who is 3 year old and 17 lbs. River has interesting hair, and a very silly lion tail! We can see the scruff on his face, and believe that he was likely shaved down based off his tail puff and scruff on his lips, but this is how he showed up at the shelter so we are unsure if he will grow out wire-y hair, or stay shorthaired with wire-y hair on his face and tail... River has a very bubbly personality, and adores every new person he meets, and does great with other dogs. Most of the time these rescue dogs have not had any training. Unfortunately we do not know much of River's background. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. River has been fully vetted, is up to date on his vaccines, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Buddy -- 5 y/o Corgi Mix.  Hi!  I'm Buddy and I'm adorbs.  I was all alone in a shelter in Arkansas, likely to die of heartworm, and EAPL saved me!   I came to Colorado in early January, went into a foster home and started my heartworm treatment.  I graduated with flying colors and five months later I'm ready for my forever home.  I'm about 30 pounds, neutered, housebroken, and sleep quietly in a kennel.  I rarely bark and I'm good with other dogs.  I haven't tried cats, but my foster mom thinks it probably would work out.  Nobody really knows my breed but I have short legs, a long body, and a medium length coat.  My face is a little beagle-y, but I'm much quieter than a beagle.  My foster mom thinks I'm part Corgi.  Call me whatever you like; just don't call me  late for dinner.    I am extremely affectionate. I love people, and I will gaze at you lovingly all day long with my  tail in motion .  If you let me on your lap, I will make meaningful eye contact and gently place my paw on your shoulder.  I walk  nicely on a leash . I would be great for a senior or for a family with young kids. I love to sniff around the neighborhood but I don't need to run 10ks or climb mountains.  Put in an app at eapl.com My  adoption fee is $375 May 10, 2024, 4:57 pm
