*** KENAN AND KEL ARE A BONDED PAIR. THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. *** If you are interested in adopting Kenan and Kel, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** If you're searching for the most loving, silly best friends, these boys are the pair you want to have around! Kenan and Kel are a bonded pair, so they must be adopted together. They love each other very much and would be so very, VERY sad if they got separated. Kenan (more white, & bigger ears) and Kel (more brown and smaller ears) are Corgi / Chihuahua mixes. Kenan is 8 months old and 14 lbs, and Kel is 2 years old and 10 lbs. Kenan and Kel were found living on the streets together in Houston. They've been through it together, and have a very strong bond and love for each other, especially after everything they have been through together. From the boy's foster: * * * "Sweetest bonded pair here! What sweet boys! They do well with other dogs and they're super friendly. They love each other so much, and it's so cute! A bit of initial “what the heck is this” but now, both look to us for a happy voice and praise to know new people and situations are okay. They do well crated together. If they are separated from each other, they will howl or cry. They do everything together and are each other's support systems. They are very bonded and truly should be kept together. Their bond is palpable! They thrive on praise, are treat motivated for easy training, and are quick learners. They are sweet boys that will make someone very happy." * * * * We understand that not everyone is looking to adopt two dogs at one time, but with a bonded pair like Kenan and Kel, 2 is truly easier than 1! They have each other to play with, to cuddle, and to occupy. Farfel's Rescue and our Houston rescue partners would love to see Kenan and Kel in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see them left alone all day while their family works full-time outside of the home, as they are much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place this sweet pair in a home where they'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for these young guys. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Kenan and Kel have been fully vetted, are in great health, up to date on their vaccines, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Sweet Corgi who is great with cats and dogs of all sizes! I love him so much that I’m willing to re-home him to a place that has more room for him to wander and run and more animals his size to entertain him. I will only adopt him into a country/farm type environment, or someone with a lot of space and time to give him the attention he deserves. He needs lots of stimulation, activity, and social interaction. He’s so smart and gets bored and lonely easily. He’s a big boy (45 lbs!) with a big heart and loves EVERYONE he meets. He is very strong willed, has an outgoing personality, loves to play, and would enjoy being trained with a purpose or task. He deserves more from life than I can give him in a small and confined environment, but I love him dearly and will only re-home to a perfect fit. If this profile is up, he is still available for adoption.

Posting Jareth again in hopes that his forever family is looking. Stats: -Approx. 1-2 y/o -27#  -neutered, utd, HW-, chipped -mostly potty trained -high energy Requirements: -fenced in yard (NO apartments) -Active working or sport home. Jareth needs a job! -another friendly playful high energy dog in the home (Jareth is fearful of bigger dogs and too rambunctious for most smaller dogs) -Herding breed experience  Note:we are NOT considering applications that do not meet these requirements! Dislikes: -bigger dogs -being in his crate Other: -Jareth is fine with dog savvy cats  -respectful children 10+ -walks nicely on a leash -wouldn’t be a good fit for people who are gone all day -needs a training class or two to learn cues and how to focus If you are interested in meeting Jareth and meet the requirements above, complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Story
Ross (aka Rocket, fka Kiwi) is an approx 27# Corgi mix with beautiful German Shepherd markings and amazingly cute short stumpers. He’s approx 2 y/o, has the softest fur and is a snuggle bug to his people with a strong herding breed personality. He always does his business outside, using the doggie door like a champ. He really loves walks, and learning to loose leash walk. Ross has displayed some people guarding and herding behaviors in his home so he needs an experienced owner who knows how to direct these behaviors. He has been very quick to learn the sit cue and has been learning other fun things. He and his former foster brother were fast buddies (it only took 4 days for them to start playing and chasing each other around the house) but he hasn’t really liked any unfamiliar dogs since then. Ross needs a family preferably working from home or retired who will include him in their daily activities and hopefully give him a job. He's not good with kids and not cat tested but based on his temperament, cats probably aren’t a good fit. He likes to smack talk and will be a perfect security alarm for your home. He requires a secure fenced in yard as he is not a good fit for an apartment situation. Ross loves to sleep in the big bed with his humans and will go occasionally to his crate during the day for a chill out. He's a lover and will shower you with kisses.  If you’re interested in meeting Ross, the first step Is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Ross is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.  July 26, 2024, 2:32 pm

Story
Rebel doesn't live up to his name at all! He is an approximately 3 year-old, 40-lb Corgi/Heeler blend. He's dog-friendly and respectful kid-friendly (10+), hates his vegetables, and tolerates his crate. When Rebel wants to be pet, he'll wiggle his backside in your direction. On leashed walks, his first instinct is to GO!, but once he settles into the walk, he's pretty good with some pulling to get to the best smells. Rebel has always lived with another dog and would do best with another dog his size to play with. He knows "sit" and he sleeps through the night in his crate. Rebel is house-trained but as with many dogs in unfamiliar situations, he had some marking accidents when he first arrived to his foster home. He's shown some interest in chew toys but hasn't quite learned to spend much time on them. Only apply for Rebel if you are prepared for normal Corgi things like lots of shedding and occasional smack talk. Rebel has not been tested with cats. While he is kid-friendly, the kid needs to be big enough to handle a forty-pound dog who wants to show his love with his whole body. Rebel doesn't necessarily need a fenced yard if his humans are home for frequent leashed walks and outdoor potty time but an apartment situation with shared walls are NOT a good fit since he does like to bark. If you are interested in meeting Rebel, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check and meet with everyone in the home. Rebel is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.July 26, 2024, 2:32 pm

Story
Eden is an approx 18 mos old 24# petite Corgi. She was surrendered by her family who was no longer able to take care of her. Eden is a busy and active little girl who loves people. She’d do very well with an active canine playmate who doesn’t mind the occasional nip or muzzle punch to initiate more play and enjoys being chased. We think Eden spent a good portion of her time outdoors previously so is learning to be an inside dog. She’s had some potty accidents indoors but for the most part goes outside to do her business when accompanied by her human. She’ll need consistent support and positive reinforcement to continue her potty training and someone home to go in and out with her during the day. She has been sleeping in her crate with some protest but her new person will need to make sure that she potties before bed or you’ll be getting a wake up call about  2-3 AM . She thinks napping and snuggling in the big bed with her human is pretty amazing. She isn’t familiar with flights of stairs or getting on furniture and doesn’t know many cues but does know her name and has a good recall. Eden gets along with most dogs with slower introductions (she can be spicy with unfamiliar dogs who don’t respect her space) but a patient, higher energy pup would be an ideal companion. We have not cat or kid tested her but recommend no cats as she is very herdy and kids 8+. Eden requires a herding breed experienced owner and a fenced in yard; she is not a good fit for an apartment situation. She would appreciate daily walks and/or runs and she is good on the leash. She would likely get kicked out of a dog park for trying to be the fun police. Eden needs an active home with humans who will include her in their daily activities and teach her fun things. She would love to learn a dog sport and/or have a job. Eden is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. If you are interested in meeting Eden you can complete our meet and greet application as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Eden’s adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado. She’ll be available  after 7/4 . July 26, 2024, 2:32 pm
