Story
Igor, aka Iggy, Ziggy, is a Professional Fun Haver! This little guy is approx 8.5 mos, 20 lbs, and full of personality and sweetness. He can be a bit shy at first but quickly warms up and will become your bestie in no time. He loves chasing after a ball or frisbee and will do best with someone who enjoys playing with him. He has not been tested with cats or kids but a respectful child 10+ may be considered. He crates like a champ and sleeps through the night. He loves walkies snd learning and is very food motivated. He is probably 90 percent potty trained and will need to be taken outside frequently at first so ce he doesnt know yet how to tell his himsn he needs to go. Ziggy requires a secure fenced in yard and is not a good fit for sn apartment situation. Active humans who aren’t gone long hours would be best and he’d love a friendly canine companion. Ziggy would benefit from a basic manners class to bond, learn, and gain confidence. If you’re interested in meeting Ziggy, the first step tis to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Ziggy is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $475 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.  January 9, 2026, 2:36 pm

Story
Meet Bretta,Bretta is a sweet 4-month-old Corgi–Shepherd mix with the best squatty legs you have ever seen. One look at her and you will be in love. She is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Bretta loves treats, takes them sweetly, and will happily curl up in your lap for hours, completely content and unbothered as long as she is close to her person. She has a calm, cuddly nature that makes her extra special for a puppy her age.She has done wonderfully with other dogs at events and is friendly with everyone she meets. Do not be fooled, though. Bretta is definitely still a puppy and has plenty of puppy energy to burn. She enjoys playtime, exploring, and learning new things.Bretta is a big fan of stuffy toys and will happily entertain herself, tossing them around and playing on her own. She also walks great on leash for being so young, and with continued training, she is going to make the absolute best little buddy for someone. If you are looking for a loving, gentle puppy with a heart full of cuddles, playful energy, and the cutest little legs around, Bretta is ready to be your new best friend.

Story
He is a sweet, sweet boy. The worst thing he does is chases cats trying to play with them. He was born 04/2024. He would do very well with other dogs to play with. He is not a big walker and generally lies down in the grass after a few houses in protest. He would much rather cuddle with you on the couch. =] He has been raised around small children and is very good with them, but he is like a bouncy ball in a china shop when he is excited. He is kennel trained but it has not been used to hold him lately. He used to chew shoes and that has stopped. He has not touched the kids toys when left on the floor (yet). He will get in the trash if able and left alone. My health has declined drastically in the last few years and I cannot give him the care he deserves. I would really love to find a good home for him.

Story
Todd is a young adult corgi mix who couldn't be happier and friendlier. He loves everyone he meets: people, dogs, and cats. Despite that awesome personality and his handsome looks, he found himself at a small rural shelter facing euthanasia. He is now looking for his forever family. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $600 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Does this guy look familiar? This is Cody’s brother, Taz. In an interesting turn of events, the new owner of the pair didn’t have the time to take care of Taz so determined it was in his best interest to give him to Rescue. Taz is a super sweet and loving 1.5 y/o cowboy Corgi. He weighs approximately 26# and would like another friendly dog in his new home who doesn’t mind him being bossy at times or could be an only dog. Humans who aren’t gone long hours will be best as he is used to having someone around and wants to bond with his new person. Taz is potty trained but might lift his leg some in a new place. He’s recently neutered so that should diminish over time. Taz is a little too curious about cats and had not been tested with kids and is herdy so cats aren’t recommended and kids 12+. Taz is new to the leash but very treat motivated to learn. He sleeps in a dog bed at night. He can be hand shy in new situations and likes riding along on the atv with his foster dad. Taz loves to be outside running so the more space the better and requires a secure fenced in yard or farm and is not a good fit for an apartment situation. His humans should be ok with the bark of a Heeler, although he mostly uses it when he’s excited and not unnecessarily. If you are interested in meeting Taz the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home.  He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, chipped, and HW Negative. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.November 17, 2025, 10:39 am
