🥒 Meet Pickles! 🐾 Meet Pickles, an adorable 4-month-old Corgi mix with a BIG personality packed into a unique little body! Take a closer look and you might find yourself asking, “Is that a Corgi mixed with a Belgian Malinois?” We see it too! While we cannot verify her exact breed mix, one thing we can tell you is that Pickles has many of the qualities you would expect from a smart, energetic working dog. Pickles is outgoing, incredibly intelligent, treat-motivated, and eager to learn. She is smart as a whip and, with patience and consistency, we believe this girl could learn just about anything—especially when there’s a treat involved! Because Pickles appears to have working-dog traits, her future family should understand that she will need more than just a backyard. She needs mental stimulation, exercise, training, and a job to do. Whether that's learning new commands, going on adventures, playing enrichment games, or becoming someone's active companion, Pickles wants to use that clever little brain of hers. Pickles came into our rescue after a kind person found her several months ago and held onto her, hoping an owner would come forward. Unfortunately, no one did. Now Pickles is ready to stop waiting and start the next chapter of her life. She would do best with a patient individual or family who has plenty of love, time, and commitment to give her. Barley is the cutest guy with a heart as big as all outdoors. What isn't clear in these shelter photos is how truly beautiful this dog is (inside and out) with his shining, soft as cotton coat and his loving, sweet as can be demeanor. Barley is a wonderful, 3 - 4 year old, 29 lb Corgi / Chihuahua mix with one of the most endearing faces you’ve ever seen. You can see the wisdom in his dark eyes that quietly ask for reassurance and love. Barley is just naturally a friendly and positive pup that enjoys his relationships with both large and small dogs. This sensitive sweetheart is feeling a bit shy and confused right now after his time at a loud, scary shelter but with some patience, hugs and yummy treats, he falls easily in love. Despite the upheaval in his life, Barley remains a gentle and kind soul. Once he feels safe and sure of himself, his sweet personality starts to shine through. He becomes affectionate, silly, and absolutely awesome. Barley would do best in a calm home, ideally with retirees, adults or older kids where the environment is more predictable. He’d thrive with someone who works from home or is retired and can offer him the consistency and companionship he craves. With a little time and a lots of love, Barley is going to blossom into the happy, confident dog that he truly is. Barley's new family needs to have the motivation, energy and open heart for a sweet rescue dog. He will require some behavioral guidance and tons of love to nurture a positive attitude about the world. In return Barley will be a loyal and loving best friend and the greatest family dog ever. When this beautiful guy falls in love, he falls hard. He gives 100% of himself to his relationships with both his people and his canine companions. Since Barley is a young dog, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Barley will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free obedience classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a dog's's ultimate behavior and in his relationship and bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feel very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Barley out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Barley will be up to date on his vetting and vaccinations to support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support our vision of a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Barley will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 10/7/2026. Is your house even a home without Ponyboy? While he isn't from Tulsa, 1967, our Ponyboy is absolutely filled to the brim with that greaser charm! This 1.5 year old "cowboy corgi", heeler/corgi mix, is a little guy at only 18lbs! He is filled with a true blue zest for life, and an energetic spirit! His enthusiasm is infectious! He will definitely benefit from an active lifetstyle, and while he loves to be right beside his people, he is no couch potato. He would likely be a very successful agility champion, hiker, or circus performer due to his innate athleticism, and mad hops. He is currently a fan of his humans first, and his doggy friends second. He hasn't quite decided how he feels about cats yet. He is still learning that crates and leashes are sometimes good things instead of scary things that take you away from everything you know. He does sleep through the night in his crate, and he does appreciate using it as a personal dining suite. He has had zero accidents while with his foster family, and his recall is exceptional. We are looking for a place for our Ponyboy to stay gold! Millie is likely a Corgi/mini Australian Shepherd blend who’s approx 20# and 2 y/o. After a short time in her foster home, Millie has shown that she is a sweet, cautious, quiet, snuggly companion. She was found in a TX hoarding situation, transferred to a small overcrowded rural shelter, and put on the EU list. Our amazing rescue partner sprang her for us and she is now spayed, utd, chipped, HW- and getting all the love and snuggles she has missed out on. She is potty trained (she may have an accident at first in a new home with a routine) and not destructive when left alone. She might seek a hiding spot until she’s comfortable in her new home. Millie walks on a leash but not confidently so she’ll need gentle practice and a patient handler until she feels safe and more comfortable. She prefers the company of dogs her size or smaller and will engage in play after she has spent some time observing. She does not care for bigger dogs. Millie would prefer a quiet home without a lot of noise. We have not cat or kid tested her but a respectful child 8+ may be considered due to her sweet nature and even temperament. Multiple children may be too much for her. Millie is potty trained and will happily go into the yard to do her business and a fenced in yard is required. An apartment situation is not be a good fit and we haven’t seen her attempt a flight of stairs so that’s unknown as well. Someone home during the day, medium level activity, and including her in your daily activities plus a basic manners class would be ideal to boost her confidence and bond with her new family.
