Story
Meet Biggie! A big, handsome corgi boy with an equally big heart. His family in another state had to surrender him due to a move, so he has come to Colorado in search of his forever home. Biggie is 4 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. He walks well on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. He loves squeaky and chew toys, and enjoys playing with toys and chasing a ball—although he may not always bring it back or be eager to share. Biggie’s ideal home is one where his people are not gone for long hours and can provide daily walks to support his weight-loss journey. A dog-savvy adopter and/or someone with herding dog experience would be preferred. A secure, fenced yard where he can romp and play would also be wonderful. Biggie does well with other dogs, but we do not know his history with cats. He is both housebroken and crate trained. True to his corgi roots, Biggie has a big voice, so a home with shared walls would likely not be the best fit for him. He is quite the talker, and sometimes it can be difficult to interpret his intentions. For this reason, we feel he would do best in a home without children, as kids may miss the cues he gives when he is feeling uncomfortable. We suspect that Biggie’s past may have included punitive correction, so a home that focuses on positive reinforcement would be ideal to help him build confidence and learn new, positive behaviors. Biggie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative.  If you are interested in adopting Biggie or would simply like to meet him, the first step is to complete our meet-and-greet application at: https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms . We require a completed application, home and reference checks, and for Biggie to meet everyone in the household prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400, and we do not adopt out of state.March 9, 2026, 9:09 pm

Story
Meet Bilbo! This special little guy is a double merle puppy, which is the results of poor breeding practices. He is blind and deaf as a result, but that doesn’t slow him down. He is 16 weeks old, and weighs in at around 10lbs. He is doing great with his crate training and his potty training too. He has an independent and curious personality. Because of his special needs, Bilbo will need a secure fenced yard. He loves outdoor time and it’s important for him to have a safe space to play and relax. He would love a dog companion, but will need one that is patient as he cannot pick up on subtle cues. He loves to wrestle and plays chase with toys and friends. Despite his differences, Bilbo is still a corgi and has all the same needs as a normal herding breed. As he grows up, he will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. His new family will need to be committed to learning how best to communicate with and train him. Bilbo would do best with someone who is home most of the time, and in a home without small children (12+ will be considered). He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Bilbo, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. His adoption fee is $475 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.March 8, 2026, 9:08 am

Story
Super sweet and spicy! Gigi is a 5-month-old, approximately 14 lb. Corgi mix likely with Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, or Heeler. Or velociraptor. Her sweet brown eyes will melt your heart. She was surrendered after the arrival of a baby. Gigi is looking for a home with an experienced, active, and involved adopter. She is very sweet and full of puppy energy. She is not a good fit for a first time herding breed owner. She has been very friendly with dogs and people, but her rambunctious play is going to be too intense for children. She is working on potty training and is doing incredibly well. Daily walks, exercise, and mental stimulation are a must, as is a secure fenced yard for her to run in. Gigi would love a tolerant playmate who is also very active and loves to wrestle. Puppy manners class is highly recommended to help her focus and bond. She is very smart and has learned to use the dog door, and also rides very well in the car. Microchipped, spayed, and up to date on her vaccines, Gigi would love to snuggle very close to you on the couch at night to keep you warm.  If you are interested in meeting Gigi, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Her adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.  March 8, 2026, 9:08 am

Story
Simba is about 3 years old and was an owner surrender along with his mom and sister (both adopted). His mom looked just like full corgi, dad unknown. His sister was heavier than he is and also looked more corgi. Simba has a corgi like face but a shorter, thinner torso and longer legs. He is a small boy at right around 20 lbs. He is great with all dogs, people and cats. He does well in a crate and likes to cuddle. He is not a runner and always stays near the house eventhough he has 40 acres to roam around on. He is the perfect small dog. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Story
Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Mango is a 5–6 year old corgi mix with stumpy legs, an adorable tail, and a personality that fills the whole room. He weighs about 32 pounds, is neutered, chipped, and UTD on all vaccinations. He was surrendered to CCFR due to being reactive around children. He is incredibly affectionate and is happiest when he’s right by his person’s side. Mango loves adults and does best with mature children ages 12 and up who understand and respect his space. This handsome guy is smart, eager, and a very fast learner. He loves treats (all treats!) and is highly treat-motivated, which makes him a fantastic training partner. He enjoys learning new things and truly thrives with daily mental stimulation along with his daily walks. Hiking? Yes, please. Car rides? He travels great. Adventures with his favorite human? Absolutely. Mango is currently working with a trainer and is doing very well. With his foster mom, he successfully navigates situations around other dogs, including hiking trails and even going into stores. That said, Mango can be reactive to dogs, so his adopter will need to continue working with a trainer to help him live his very best life. He would do best as an only dog so he can be the center of attention (his favorite place to be!), though he has previously lived successfully with another small dog. Careful introductions would be essential. A cat-free home would be best for Mango, or a home with very dog-savvy cats who are confident and comfortable around dogs. He is potty trained, can use a dog door, and does well with a consistent schedule—especially when settling into a new home. Mango will need a fenced yard and would likely thrive in a quiet neighborhood or more rural setting. He does like to announce himself when he heads outside, so he can be a bit of a barker. Looking for a buddy to try a dog sport like nose work? Mango’s sharp mind, love of treats, and eagerness to learn could make him a wonderful partner for fun training adventures! Mango is looking for a committed, dog-savvy home that will continue to guide him, keep his mind busy, and give him the love he adores. The first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. His adoption fee is $400. We do not adopt out of state.  March 8, 2026, 9:08 am
