Story
Marcy is the type of dog that makes people smile almost immediately. She has a goofy, happy personality, loves being involved in whatever you are doing, and absolutely lives for water. If there is a pond, creek, kiddie pool, or muddy shoreline nearby, Marcy will find it. Marcy is a stocky, short-legged mixed breed girl around 45 pounds full grown with a personality that balances confidence and sensitivity in a really unique way. She loves adventures, swimming, exploring, and outdoor activities, but she is not a nonstop high-energy dog. She can absolutely keep up on hikes, walks, or active days, then happily relax afterward. She is great with other dogs and cats. With dogs, she does best around friendly, respectful personalities. She can get intimidated if another dog is overly pushy or tries to dominate her, but outside of that she is social, playful, and very happy around other animals. With new people, Marcy can sometimes give a little low growl at first. It is not aggression and she has never shown aggressive behavior. It is simply her way of saying she needs a moment to process and get comfortable. Once she settles in, her affectionate and goofy personality comes out quickly. She is basically an extroverted introvert. Marcy would be a great fit for someone looking for a dog that enjoys adventures and outdoor time but does not need constant stimulation to stay happy. She especially needs a family that understands that not every friendly dog is instantly social with strangers, and that giving a dog a few minutes to warm up is completely okay. Good fit: someone looking for a fun, outdoorsy companion that enjoys water, adventures, and relaxing equally. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Colby is an incredibly cute ball of cottony fur that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. What isn't clear in this shelter photo is how truly beautiful this dog is with his golden coat and dark eyes with wisdom beyond his years. At just about 8ish years old (such a perfect age..old enough to be past babyish behaviors and young enough to have many healthy and active years remaining) and 14 lbs, Colby is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a very sweet, smaller dog is welcome. Colby is every bit the silly guy...fun, active and so content once comfortable in his environment. But at the same time he is a happy and well-behaved pup who is so sweet, very loving and a perfect full-time companion. Colby is very likely to express himself with his wagging tail and excited kisses of love for those who are kind to him. Right now, Colby is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Colby is so loyal that he can easily be a constant companion. He would love nothing more than being outdoors enjoying walks on gorgeous Colorado trails, trips to the store (he enjoys car rides)) and lap/couch-sitting are perfect for Colby's sweet personality. Colby is flexible enough that he can be introduced to virtually any situation and if there is love and gentle guidance, he can succeed. We've received the following information from Colby rescuer: "Colby is soo adorable! He has the most endearing looks on his face and the cutest impish personality. He is very sweet and always has a spring in his step. He is very easy to love! Colby is also very affectionate. He loves to cuddle & happily spends hours curled up on our laps or close by on the couch or rocking chair. He takes well to others as well and will happily greet them. Colby bonded with all of us at the shelter very quickly. It's clear that his biggest wish is to have his own family that will love him forever. I believe that this darling little guy will fall in love very quickly with a family that is respectful and kind to him." Colby has a gorgeous golden coat that is currently shelter-sad. He will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition. Current research is clear that the greatest gift we can give our dogs is a fresh, human-grade diet. Farfel's wholeheartedly recommends Chi Diet (chidog.com) for lifelong coat health and an opportunity for the longest and most healthy life possible. Colby is arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 8/12/2026. Applications are being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Colby please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder, Rescueme and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Freya is a sweet energetic Corgi Terrier mix that loves to play and cuddle with her humans. She enjoys playing with Hemi, a big male Rottweiler Shepard mix. We have taken her to the dog park and she does fine around other dogs as well. She prefers catch to fetch. She loves bully sticks and pig ears. She is very food motivated and very smart. She can be a little too energetic at times and tries to jump and give open mouth kisses which can frighten some people and children. We rescued Freya and Hemi when their previous owner couldn't afford to keep them. For several weeks Freya and Hemi integrated well with our rescue Ceres. However Ceres' resource aggression came out and she and Freya occasionally fought over treats and toys. We have been working with the dogs and they have all improved greatly, but we have been unable to stop Ceres from starting fights entirely. My husband and I have come to the hard decision to rehome Freya to a safe and loving forever home.

Story
Cody is ready to find his forever home! Cody was found out on the plains of CO limping on 3 legs. A kind person contacted us to get him the medical care he needed. After an FHO and physical therapy, Cody is using his leg again, although there are still times when he reverts back since he likely used 3 legs for most of his life prior to surgery. Cody is a super sweet and loving 1.5 y/o cowboy Corgi. He weighs approximately 25# and will need another friendly dog in his new home and humans who aren’t gone long hours. Cody is potty trained and crate trained although he can have some excited urination when his person comes home. He is still in his puppy stage and learning about chewing on appropriate things so does require a certain amount of supervision and dog-safe chews like no hides and bully sticks. Cody has not been tested with cats or kids and although very sweet and even tempered, he can be herdy so cats aren’t recommended and kids 12+. Cody is good on the leash, treat motivated, and sleeps in a dog bed at night. He is shy in new situations and doesn’t love the car but is getting used to shorter trips to fun places. Cody requires a secure fenced in yard with room to run around, a moderately active family, and is not a good fit for an apartment situation. His humans should be ok with the bark of a Heeler, although he mostly uses it when he’s excited and not unnecessarily. Cody would benefit from a basic manners class to bond, learn, and gain confidence. If you’re interested in meeting Cody, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Cody is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado. March 8, 2026, 9:08 am

Story
Meet Kit! (AKA KitKat) At just 5–6 months old and 27#, this Corgi (and possible Shepherd) mix is a sweet, gregarious puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. KitKat is trusting, super affectionate, and never says no to a good belly rub! The Highlights: Social Butterfly: Great with dogs of all sizes. Curious About Cats: Needs more training, currently thinks they are something to chase. Playtime Enthusiast: Loves to run, play, chase, and surround himself with as many toys as possible. Very springy puppy!  Routine Ready: Already crate/kennel trained! Warning - He likes to “sing” (howl) himself to sleep but eventually settles down. What He’s Working On: Like any young pup, KitKat is still learning his big boy manners. He’s currently working on potty training, curbing his puppy jumping and keeping his paws on the ground when he is excited, and learning what is (and isn't) a chew toy. Ideal Match: KitKat needs a patient, positive-reinforcement-focused person / family who can keep up with his fun energy and give him the attention and guidance he needs to grow into his best self. A fenced in yard is required and respectful kids 10+ may be considered. If you're looking for a loving, adventurous sidekick, you can complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Kit is neutered, utd on vaccs, and chipped. His adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.August 9, 2026, 6:03 pm

Story
This amazing ball of floof is Oreo. Oreo was surrendered by his owner due to too many dogs. Oreo is almost 2y/o and 35#. He is a good boy who is looking for an active home with another playful tolerant dog his size. He is a bit fearful of bigger dogs and gets easily overstimulated. Oreo walks well on the leash and needs longer daily walks plus other mental and physical exercise, and weekend hikes, or a working or sport home. He’d love a basic doggie manners class where he could bond with his person and show you how smart he is. Oreo is working on marking indoors and still does it occasionally and/or when he is stressed and/or if there’s another new boy dog around. He’ll need continued support and supervision and let outside often to do his business. He wears a belly band at night (it’s almost always dry in the AM) and sleeps in a dog bed. He tolerates a kennel for short periods but doesn’t love it, so someone home during the day would be best. His fluffy coat will require more than average grooming. Oreo can be fearful of new grabby hands, humans reaching over him, and fast movements towards him so only homes with children 12+ or no kids will be considered. We do not know how he is with cats but he is very herdy so cats are NOT recommended. Oreo is not a good fit for an apartment situation and requires a good sized fenced in yard where he can run around and he’ll still need appropriate daily exercise to keep him in good shape as he easily puts on weight. A herding breed experienced home would be best as he’s not a good option for a first time owner. He needs some time to settle and patience while he learns a new routine in a new environment with new people. He can be nervous and mouthy at first, but once he feels comfortable, he is very affectionate and cuddly. He should be told at least 10 times a day that he’s a good boy. If you are interested in meeting Oreo, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Oreo is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.  March 8, 2026, 9:08 am
