Story
Zoomin Zula! This adorable short stack is a 8-9 month old, female, husky/corgi mix. She’s ready for any adventure you are willing to take her on, especially if it involves water. Zula is good with most dog friends, with a preference to those that will run and play with her. She’s house trained, crate trained, and very smart. Zula is affectionate and cuddly, too. Due to her unique breed mix, we are seeking an active home that enjoys working with dogs. She responds so well to training it seems a shame to waste it! Zula requires a feline free home. She doesn’t have the best leash skills, but she’s working hard on that while in foster care. Zula is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/zula. Story
Allow us to introduce you to Finn! This handsome guy is about a year old and hits the scales at around 20 lbs (he’s fully grown). Finn is a fella on the move. He likes to play and provide entertainment for those around him, enjoying an audience of both cats and dogs. He will be best suited in a home with a privacy fence (thank you to the Jack Russell Terrier we believe is in his bones) as he has springs on his feet and can jump at 4ft fence. He would LOVE a playful canine companion that enjoys romping around in the yard followed by serious snuggles for a nap. Finn is a delightful character and is excited to find a true forever home here in the land of Colorado. Finn is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/finn/. Story
There's nothing quite like young dog sweetness and silliness, and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous pups are so pure and vulnerable with their whole lives lying in front of them, that it's unbearable to think of them homeless and alone on city streets and highways or in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia. Yoda is a cute as can be 2 year old, 24 lb Corgi / Beagle mix that is just waiting to be the love of a dog-crazy family's life. Farfel's can't swear to the accuracy of this breed mix as no DNA test was done. This was the educated opinion of Arkansas veterinarians and we will go with that. Yoda is starting out with great energy. While initially just a bit shy, this sweet guy is blossoming as he learns about living in a safe and nurturing environment with love and kindness. Now at 2 years old, Yoda's self esteem is growing each day as he learns that he's a very valuable guy that has so much to offer a dog-crazy family. Yoda is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's also so loving and cuddly once he's comfortable in his environment. This snuggly little guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of an active and busy day. At 2 years old, it's clear that this pup is SO smart and sweet - very typical of both the Corgi and Beagle personalities. Many would say that these two breeds are among the most intelligent and loving in the dog world. Since Yoda is just a young dog, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Yoda will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a young dog's ultimate behavior and in his relationship and bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment, yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Yoda's gorgeous tricolor coat is currently a bit shelter-sad. After a sudsy bath and grooming, this little guy will be ready for his transport to Colorado.Yoda's forever family will need to make a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and coat care) to keep this guy's hair super-healthy, shining and cottony soft. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Yoda out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. We're open to Yoda finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a dog that would enjoy nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Sweet Yoda enjoys his relationships with all humans, dogs and cats. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment by very young kids will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Yoda is up to date on his vetting and vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to being a part of the solution to the canine overpopulation crisis. Applications are currently being accepted for this adorable and sweet as can be pup who is learning about love and acceptance in his life. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Yoda, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Benjii, corgi/shepherd mix, 6 yo, 36 lb, male.Benji is cute,  smart, loyal, and has a great steady shepherd-like personality.  He gets deeply attached, although needs a little bit of time to get used to a new place. Would be better as the only dog and would bond closer with a female owner. Would be better with teenage kids. He is patient and great at following the routine. Was found as a stray.   Adoption fee: $300. If interested, please submit an adoption or foster application at http://www.sanNicolaDogRescue.com  March 30, 2025, 7:55 pm

Story
Jax was a co-workers dog. Co-worker had to move for medical care, and could not take Jax once moved. Our family adopted him from the co-worker. We have recently had a child, and Jax is too oblivious and doesn't pay attention to our new born, or our 9 year old. He is well trained. Used to be a cattle dog, when the co-worker owned him. He was kicked in the face by a cow, and forced to retire. Jax can play dead, fetch, obeys sit and lay down commands. Jax is 7ish years old, microchips, and has had shots. We have had Jax for 2 years. He is very curious about things. Jax is a very good protector, he only barks when the door bell rings, or if he hears voices outside the house. Jax does well with our other dog, but unsure about in public. He doesn't mind people, and honestly prefers to be a couch potato.
