Story
Scarlett is a loving and very sweet people's dog. She loves walks, cuddles and is very treat motivated. She hit the 1 year mark and has been food aggressive, herding, and attacking my cats and other dog every since. She would do amazing as the only animal in the household. I have tried everything in order to get her trained and working well with the other animals. The management has become all consuming for me and I have frankly given up my life for her in the past 6 months. She does well with other dogs on walks and in casual setting, just not in her own home as she has random triggers. Most of the time her and my other dog are fine, but when she is not it's scary.

Story
Posting Jareth again in hopes that his forever family is looking. Stats: -Approx. 1-2 y/o -27#  -neutered, utd, HW-, chipped -mostly potty trained -high energy Requirements: -fenced in yard (NO apartments) -Active working or sport home. Jareth needs a job! -another friendly playful high energy dog in the home (Jareth is fearful of bigger dogs and too rambunctious for most smaller dogs) -Herding breed experience  Note:we are NOT considering applications that do not meet these requirements! Dislikes: -bigger dogs -being in his crate Other: -Jareth is fine with dog savvy cats  -respectful children 10+ -walks nicely on a leash -wouldn’t be a good fit for people who are gone all day -needs a training class or two to learn cues and how to focus If you are interested in meeting Jareth and meet the requirements above, complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Jareth's adoption fee is $475 and we are not doing out of state adoptions.April 10, 2024, 5:04 pm

Story
Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Tawny was recently listed for adoption, but we’ve since spent a little time with her and evaluated her more closely. Tawny is an 8.5-year-old Pembroke Corgi. Her previous family was in a situation where they could no longer keep her and had to give her up. She is crate trained and does not mind sleeping there through the night. She is completely housetrained and has started using a doggy door. She loves to go on walks and gets very excited. She is selective of the dogs she gets along with and is non-reactive to cats. She tolerates the smaller dogs in her foster home but does not like the other female Corgi and will not be placed with another female dog her size or larger. A home without other dogs or possibly a passive male dog would be best. She does get jealous of other dogs around her person.  The ideal home for Tawny would be a home where her people are home most of the time so she can be with them. An easy-going family with a structured routine would be best for her. She will need a firm yet gentle person to guide her in her new home. She came to Rescue with anxiety due to her previous situation but has relaxed and is doing very well now that she has a calm atmosphere. She is hesitant with strangers and needs time to warm up; she does not appreciate strangers trying to touch her without her getting comfortable with them first. Her new family should know that a few visits before becoming a permanent part of their family would help in her transition to the new home, so a family in the metro Denver area would be preferred so that visits can be facilitated easily. Due to her anxiety, we will not place her in a home with children. She is a barker and is being trained to hush on cue. It is going to take time and patience and her new family should be willing to work with her using positive reinforcement.  She loves to talk with snorts, grunts and corgi yodeling… and of course barking. Another form of “talking” she enjoys is growling. She wags her tail the entire time, but this can be confusing and intimidating to many people. This is how she expresses herself and is not an indication of aggression, so a family with dog experience and an understanding of canine body language is preferred.  Having her own fenced in yard so she can burn off some of her energy is a requirement. She will not do well in an apartment or at dog parks due to her anxious and bossy nature and will need space to run off leash.     Don’t let her age fool you, this girl is full of spunk! She enjoys walks VERY much and she hopes that her new family enjoys daily walks as well.  She loves the snow, enjoys playing with toys and her person once she trusts them. She also enjoys car rides. She is intelligent and always watches her person for cues. She also has a very sweet side that she can’t wait to show her new family. If you think you could provide her with her list of requirements, please see Colorado Corgis and Friends adoption process and complete a meet and greet/adoption application for her, go to https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms (https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms) as the first step. Her adoption fee is $375 and we do not adopt out of Colorado. Stats: - Up to date on vaccinations - Spayed - Microchipped - No known major health or dental issues - Heartworm  negative - Approx. 8.5 years old and 21#  April 10, 2024, 5:04 pm

Story
Meet Winston! This almost 5-year-old couch potato, with his birthday on June 6th, is looking to shed a few pounds (but hey, who isn't?). He's a foodie at heart and a quick learner. He came into the rescue already knowing cues like sit, stay, lay down, and roll over.  On walks, Winston struts his stuff like a pro, but the mere sight of a squirrel turns him into a little explorer, pulling a bit on the leash. Winston can be vocal and is not shy about expressing himself, so a home without shared walls would be ideal for his serenades. No apartments! Winston is a people-lover through and through. He insists on being part of the action, following his humans around the house like a furry shadow. He's not a fan of young kids but kids 16 years old and up should be ok. Winston is used to going in and out into the backyard freely throughout the day in his old home, so a fenced yard is preferred. While Winston hasn't met any cats yet, he's looking for a home where he can be the only furry friend OR with experienced herding breed owners who understand resource guarding and separate feedings. Winston has nipped in his foster home, so watch your ankles! Housebroken and accident-free, Winston is the ultimate work-from-home buddy, always ready to lend an ear (or a paw) during your Zoom calls. He's eagerly awaiting a loving home where he can be the center of attention and continue to charm his way into your heart! To learn about Colorado Corgis and Friends adoption process and complete a meet and greet/adoption application for Winston, go to — https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. His adoption fee is $425.  MINIMUM ADOPTION QUALIFICATIONS  - Must reside in Colorado - No other dogs or an experienced herding breed home that is knowledgeable with resource guarding and separate feedings - No apartments - Fenced yard preferred  - No kids or kids 16+ - Completed meet and greet/adoption application (https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms) - Home and reference check  - Meet with everyone in the home - Applicant and primary caregiver must be 21+ years oldApril 10, 2024, 5:04 pm

Story
Daisy is a spunky, smart, and energetic girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She is timid when she first meets new people and has a big bark, but once she knows you she is a love bug. Daisy loves having a job to do; whether that's fetch, tug of war, learning new tricks, or playing with her snuffle mat, she likes to have something to occupy her mind. Daisy has interacted with other dogs and had both positive and negative experiences. She tends to resource guard food/treats from Children and other dogs, but not adults she knows and trusts. Daisy would do best in a child free home and would need support on dog interactions. We love this girl so much and hope to find her the perfect home where she can truly let her personality shine.
