HANDSOME & SWEET:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 60 lbs. Hi, I’m Leon!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m so glad they brought me into the Mostly Mutts family.  I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I’m now ready to find a family of my very own.  I think that is the best news ever!  Come meet me soon!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  When I met dogs at Mostly Mutts, I was reactive toward them – lunging and showing teeth, so I would like to be your only dog, please.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over as I’m a big boy and I don’t seem to like restraint/hugs. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, sweet, calm boy and some of the volunteers even report that I’m a gentle giant.  The paw spa seemed new to me, but I did climb the stairs and though the bath sprayer was a bit scary for me, with the patience of my bather (and a gentler approach using a mitt and cup), I did much better and stayed very sweet throughout.  I also did fine for my ear cleaning, showing what a gentle and trusting boy I am. / Energy level: 4-6.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands and I look forward to learning more.  I’m working on my leash manners with my trainer now as I can zig zag a bit.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners have been pretty good on the shelter schedule with just a few accidents.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like spending time with the nice volunteers and I’m sure we’ll discover lots of things we will enjoy doing together once I’m settled in my new home. / I’m not a fan of being restrained and the bath was not my favorite thing to do, and like all dogs, I wouldn’t be happy without enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I should wear a muzzle for my vetting as I am not fond of vetting and the restraint that comes with it.  I’m a great dog looking for a great family to love and share a great life with.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 2, 2026, 5:43 am

Story
Our Zazu may not be running a kingdom like his namesake, but he definitely carries himself like he could! Also — much like his animated counterpart — his most noticeable feature is his head… which is approximately three sizes too big for his body. Zazu actually looks a little like a cartoon character, but please don't tell him we said that! Seriously. If there was ever a reason to order a DNA test just out of curiosity, this boy would be it. He’s got the head of a Malinois and the body and legs of a Corgi, which leaves us with a lot of questions and absolutely no answers. So we’ve come up with a few working theories: • If you have sheep (or ducks) that need herding — congratulations, you may have found your guy. • If you’ve always wanted a Malinois but don’t quite have the space for the full-size version — may we present the Mini-Mal™. • Or maybe he’s just a perfectly engineered 30-pound package of personality. Whatever combination created him, it works. Short little Zazu is hilarious, very smart, super social, and comes equipped with a great alert bark in case anyone forgets he’s in charge. When he met the guys for the first time, he made friends with everyone immediately — and we’re pretty sure he already believes he’s head of the class. May 22, 2026, 6:01 pm

Story
Boomer and Benney are loving and well-behaved dogs. Benney is a very affection dog, he loves to lay in your lap and under the covers with you. Hopefully, someone can take both, they have been together since they were puppies, but we understand how hard it can be to take on 2 dogs.

Story
Moses is a small but mighty bundle of joy with a big personality packed into a little body. Moses is a spunky sweetheart who adores his little stuffed toys (and proudly keeps them intact!) When the zoomiews strike, he lets his tiny legs fly as fast as they can go. He's gentle, playful and unbelievably sweet - the kind of good boy who steals your heart without even trying.  Moses may be small, but his love, charm, and happy energy are anything but.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 2:16 pm

Story
A FUN, BUSY & CURIOUS FELLOW:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 31 lbs. Hi, my name is Hampton!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, & as much as I love the volunteers, I yearn for a family of my very own, that I can have fun & be active with!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site & learned a lot! I was adopted for a few weeks, but that home didn’t work out, so I’m back with MM looking for my family.  While I wait, I’m in a great foster home! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in the prison/foster training program, & liked them, but I do guard my food & squeaky toys, so food, treats, & squeaky toys should be handled separately.  My foster has successfully managed this behavior in the home, so please just ask about this!  / Cats unknown, but make sure food & squeaky toys are not in play. / I met some nice kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts & did well with them, without any food or toys around.  Older children 15+ who understand my need for space when I am eating would be the best fit – of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a curious & playful guy who has a very lively personality!  As affectionate as I am handsome, I have energy to spare & a big heart to share. In my foster home, I love relaxing on the couch & enjoying ear scratches from my foster dad, with plenty of happy tail wags to show my appreciation.  I should not live in an apartment environment, as there can be too much stimulation with so many people living in close proximity.  In my previous home, I did guard my mom & there was an incident shortly after I was adopted, where a stranger entered my new home & I bit them after they bent down to pet me.  In my foster home, I’ve had positive introductions with 8+ new people both at home & out on walks, & I’m eager to meet new friends.  My foster is also helping me work on being less mouthy when I get excited meeting new people & she’d be happy to show you how to maintain my good manners in my furever home. / My energy level is 6-8, so I need my family to give me regular exercise & stimulation (like a peanut butter kong or treat puzzle), so that I can be the best, calmest version of myself! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ & ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I’ve made great progress with my trainer in the prison/foster program on my food & squeaky toy guarding & even learned to trade a toy for a treat, but it’s still something to be mindful of - so please ask for more details.  My guarding tendencies are exacerbated by the busy shelter environment & my training to avoid guarding behaviors has been maintained in my foster home.  My trainer will be happy to share tips to support my continued progress with guarding in my new home.  I can be playfully mouthy, & once when it was very loud & busy at the shelter, I got a bit riled up & my teeth made contact with my walker.  It also happened on a walk.  My trainer can show you how to help with this.  Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s continue my training together. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  In my foster home, I sleep in there all night without making a peep. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule as well as in my foster home, where I let my foster know when I need to go out, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE people, going for long hikes with the volunteers, & the car rides on the way!  One of my favorite places though is your lap, where I’ll happily hop up when invited.  I have mastered the game of fetch & I have been trained to play with two tennis balls – dropping one on command for another to be thrown.  Belly rubs?  Don’t even get me started - they’re my favorite, & I’ll flop right over to show you where to start.  I’m always ready for action, whether it’s a game of fetch, a walk, or just running off energy with you in the yard & then sitting in the shade.  Life’s a blast, & I’m here to make every moment fun! / As stated, I do NOT like anyone touching my food during mealtimes, so a bit of privacy while I’m dining, please.  ‘Party of one’.  Otherwise, I’m sure I would not be happy if I did not get enough love, attention, exercise & training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered.  I’ve started 2 medications called Fluoxetine & Trazodone to help with shelter stress.  I think I’ll be able to wean off of these once I’ve settled in my new home.  I am looking for a loving home where I will be a cherished member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 2, 2026, 5:43 am
