Story
HANDSOME & SWEET:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 60 lbs. Hi, I’m Leon!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m so glad they brought me into the Mostly Mutts family.  I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I’m now ready to find a family of my very own.  I think that is the best news ever, so come meet me soon!  I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  When I met dogs at Mostly Mutts, I ignored them and when they got near me, I showed my teeth, so I would like to be your only dog, please.  / Cats unknown. / I met two nice boys around 6 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! I previously didn’t like restraint/hugs, so let’s meet with my trainer to make sure I’m alright with this.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, sweet, calm boy and some of the volunteers even report that I’m a gentle giant.  I’m a playful boy who enjoys quietly growling as a way to tell you that I’m enjoying our playtime.  With my soft, silky fur and handsome looks, I’m sure to win you over in no time.  / Energy level: 4-6.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners have been pretty good on the shelter schedule as well as in the off-site training program.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like spending time with the nice volunteers and I’m sure we’ll discover lots of things we will enjoy doing together once I’m settled in my new home.  I love playing fetch!  My favorite version involves two tennis balls - when I bring one back, toss the other and watch me race after it while you scoop up the first.  It's a game I never seem to tire of!  / I’m not a fan of being restrained and the bath was not my favorite thing to do, and like all dogs, I wouldn’t be happy without enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I should wear a muzzle for my vetting as I am not fond of vetting and the restraint that comes with it.  I’m a great dog looking for a great family to love and share a great life with.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 19, 2026, 10:22 am

Story
A FUN, BUSY & CURIOUS FELLOW:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 31 lbs. Hi, my name is Hampton!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, & as much as I love the volunteers, I yearn for a family of my very own, that I can have fun & be active with!  I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience & learned a lot!  I was adopted for a few weeks, but that home didn’t work out, so I’m back with MM looking for my family.  While I wait, I’m in a great foster home! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts as well as in the off-site training program, & liked them, but I do guard my food & squeaky toys, so food, treats, & squeaky toys should be handled separately.  My foster has successfully managed this behavior in the home, so please just ask about this!  / Cats unknown, but make sure food & squeaky toys are not in play. / I met some nice kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts & did well with them, without any food or toys around.  Older children 15+ who understand my need for space when I am eating would be the best fit – of course, let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a curious & playful guy who has a very lively personality!  As affectionate as I am handsome, I have energy to spare & a big heart to share. In my foster home, I love relaxing on the couch & enjoying ear scratches from my foster dad, with plenty of happy tail wags to show my appreciation.  I should not live in an apartment environment, as there can be too much stimulation with so many people living in close proximity.  In my previous home, I did guard my mom & there was an incident shortly after I was adopted, where a stranger entered my new home & I bit them after they bent down to pet me.  In my foster home, I’ve had positive introductions with 8+ new people both at home & out on walks, & I’m eager to meet new friends.  My foster is also helping me work on being less mouthy when I get excited meeting new people & she’d be happy to show you how to maintain my good manners in my furever home. / My energy level is 6-8, so I need my family to give me regular exercise & stimulation (like a peanut butter kong or treat puzzle), so that I can be the best, calmest version of myself! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience, so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ & ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I’ve made great progress with my trainer in the prison/foster program on my food & squeaky toy guarding & even learned to trade a toy for a treat, but it’s still something to be mindful of - so please ask for more details.  My guarding tendencies are exacerbated by the busy shelter environment & my training to avoid guarding behaviors has been maintained in my foster home.  My trainer will be happy to share tips to support my continued progress with guarding in my new home.  I can be playfully mouthy, & once when it was very loud & busy at the shelter, I got a bit riled up & my teeth made contact with my walker.  It also happened on a walk.  My trainer can show you how to help with this.  Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s continue my training together. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  In my foster home, I sleep in there all night without making a peep. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule as well as in my foster home, where I let my foster know when I need to go out, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE people, going for long hikes with the volunteers, & the car rides on the way!  One of my favorite places though is your lap, where I’ll happily hop up when invited.  I have mastered the game of fetch & I have been trained to play with two tennis balls – dropping one on command for another to be thrown.  Belly rubs?  Don’t even get me started - they’re my favorite, & I’ll flop right over to show you where to start.  I’m always ready for action, whether it’s a game of fetch, a walk, or just running off energy with you in the yard & then sitting in the shade.  Life’s a blast, & I’m here to make every moment fun! / As stated, I do NOT like anyone touching my food during mealtimes, so a bit of privacy while I’m dining, please.  ‘Party of one’.  Otherwise, I’m sure I would not be happy if I did not get enough love, attention, exercise & training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered.  I’ve started 2 medications called Fluoxetine & Trazodone to help with shelter stress.  I think I’ll be able to wean off of these once I’ve settled in my new home.  I am looking for a loving home where I will be a cherished member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 19, 2026, 10:22 am

Story
A FUN, PLAYFUL & ACTIVE GUY:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 40 lbs.  Hi, my name is Asher!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, & I’m very grateful.  The volunteers are taken with my unusual breed mix, my handsome ginger brindle coat, & compact body.  I bet you will be, too!  I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot!  I am currently in a wonderful foster home, waiting for my match! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I enjoy playing with & going for walks with other dogs I’ve met at Mostly Mutts, but I should not live with another dog as I have guarded toys & dog beds from them.  I can be barky/reactive when I see other dogs – not to worry – my trainer will show you exactly how to introduce me to other dogs, so let’s meet! / No cats! / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 15+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn’t want to bump over younger children & toddlers make me uncomfortable. So, if you have kids 15+ let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet, happy & fun-natured guy who has earned the reputation of being ‘goofy & funny’ around the shelter. I am full of playful energy & am not shy about speaking my mind, so I don’t think an apartment/condo-type home would be a good fit for me.  I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball.  I will even bring it back to you as long as you will throw it.  My foster parents have realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside, so I’d make a good office dog.  I really enjoy going on walks & I do enjoy several of them during the day in my foster home.  I’m a lot of dog in a medium sized package.  I’m also very sweet, protective & fun!  I am great in the shower or bath, when my foster parents give me my weekly bath.  Affectionate & social with the people I’ve been properly introduced to, I have all the traits of a great companion. I, however, am not the kind of dog you would take to the kids’ sporting events, or a busy park, etc. since I can be reactive.  I look forward to meeting all the members of my new home at my adoption! / My energy level is 6–8, so I am looking for a family member who will be active with me.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ & ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette & have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping when properly introduced.  I get distracted by sounds I hear on my walk that I don’t recognize, so my trainer used the ‘leave it’ command to keep me on track on our walks.  I’m very food motivated, so that makes my training fun & yummy! Let's continue my training as there are more classes I can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for their rescue dogs. / I did well in my little room at Mostly Mutts.  In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners, & easily go into my crate when my foster parents have to leave the house.  I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. / In my foster home, I have had wonderful potty manners with no accidents.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I LOVE toys - especially rubber ones with deep squeakers, Nylabones, & large squeaky tennis balls.  I can entertain myself while you’re busy, or we can play fetch together - just throw the ball!  A nice, fenced yard would be great for our play sessions. When it’s time to relax, I enjoy lots of petting & cuddles, & I secretly believe I’m a lap dog, so don’t be surprised if I climb up & give you a big hug with my paws on your shoulders. I also like walks, though I’ll need a strong walker since I’m a strong boy & can sometimes be reactive to people & other animals, so let’s go find some quieter places to explore together. I absolutely love car rides, too! / I have been frightened by certain loud motors, the vacuum, doorbells ,etc., but I can be trained not to react to those as I’m smart. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, & training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I may need to wear a muzzle when vetted & for nail trims as this can be frightening to me. I am looking for a dog savvy family where I will be cherished!  My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 19, 2026, 10:22 am

Story
Bobby is a young Corgi/Spaniel/Basset mix. He was dumped in East Texas where my family brought him in and have loved him. We recently transplanted to Matietta GA and due to landlord limitations. He are unable to keep him. Bobby loves attention and loves yo play. He is crate trained. Bobby did suffer some previous dog to dog trauma that has made him slightly anxious when meeting new friends. But he warms up very very quickly and has always been very gentle with my kids.

He needs a loving home where is the only one getting attention after many attempts over the past three years he has struggled to adjust to my toddler. It is best that he’s in a home where he can be the primary receiver of affection as for the first three years of his life that’s all he was used to.

Story
Our Zazu may not be running a kingdom like his namesake, but he definitely carries himself like he could! Also — much like his animated counterpart — his most noticeable feature is his head… which is approximately three sizes too big for his body. Zazu actually looks a little like a cartoon character, but please don't tell him we said that! Seriously. If there was ever a reason to order a DNA test just out of curiosity, this boy would be it. He’s got the head of a Malinois and the body and legs of a Corgi, which leaves us with a lot of questions and absolutely no answers. So we’ve come up with a few working theories: • If you have sheep (or ducks) that need herding — congratulations, you may have found your guy. • If you’ve always wanted a Malinois but don’t quite have the space for the full-size version — may we present the Mini-Mal™. • Or maybe he’s just a perfectly engineered 30-pound package of personality. Whatever combination created him, it works. Short little Zazu is hilarious, very smart, super social, and comes equipped with a great alert bark in case anyone forgets he’s in charge. When he met the guys for the first time, he made friends with everyone immediately — and we’re pretty sure he already believes he’s head of the class. June 8, 2026, 12:20 am

Story
This is Maple! We acquired her from our local fire department! Maple was a stray that wandered into the fire house. One of the fireman took her in while she was being seen at the vet for getting shots and spayed. We were then lucky enough to meet her and knew she’d be perfect for our family. The vet thinks she is around 2 years old now. Maple is truly the best dog. She is super fun, very energetic, and extremely smart. She also loves to cuddle! She is great with other dogs (we put her in doggy daycare) and fantastic with young children. Unfortunately, our life is progressing fast and we aren’t able to give Maple the attention and time she truly deserves anymore. We are looking for a new home that has plenty of space for her to run around and play (she loves her toys) and owners that will give her the time and attention she deserves. This has been one of the toughest times in our life, but we love her and only want to see her enjoying life to the fullest!

Boomer and Benney are loving and well-behaved dogs. Benney is a very affection dog, he loves to lay in your lap and under the covers with you. Hopefully, someone can take both, they have been together since they were puppies, but we understand how hard it can be to take on 2 dogs.
