Our Zazu may not be running a kingdom like his namesake, but he definitely carries himself like he could! Also — much like his animated counterpart — his most noticeable feature is his head… which is approximately three sizes too big for his body. Zazu actually looks a little like a cartoon character, but please don't tell him we said that! Seriously. If there was ever a reason to order a DNA test just out of curiosity, this boy would be it. He’s got the head of a Malinois and the body and legs of a Corgi, which leaves us with a lot of questions and absolutely no answers. So we’ve come up with a few working theories: • If you have sheep (or ducks) that need herding — congratulations, you may have found your guy. • If you’ve always wanted a Malinois but don’t quite have the space for the full-size version — may we present the Mini-Mal™. • Or maybe he’s just a perfectly engineered 30-pound package of personality. Whatever combination created him, it works. Short little Zazu is hilarious, very smart, super social, and comes equipped with a great alert bark in case anyone forgets he’s in charge. Hampton came into our home because he was not doing well in the shelter environment. We offered to foster him until he found his home. That was almost a year ago. He had done great in our home, got along with our dogs, and was a very sweet guy. When we took him back to the shelter for his annual vet appointment, instructions were not followed and Hampton violently snapped at the vet tech. The shelter we were working with then deemed him unadoptable and a liability. My wife and I were forced to adopt him, or hand him over for euthanasia. We are now trying to find him a loving home where he can thrive. He is a sweet, and energetic boy. We have been working with a trainer on his couple behavioral issues and believe in the right home he can truly live a wonderful life. He has a couple of triggers that set him off, but are completely manageable. We already have 3 dogs, and can't financially support a 4th long term. He is a good dog, needs a capable owner, and will be a loving companion.

For everyone’s safety, he needs to go to a home with no children (including no regular visiting kids or grandkids) and no other dogs or pets. He would do best with an experienced adult owner who understands and can manage guarding behavior.
