Spotlight on Mia Mia was rescued in California after she and her sister were left behind at a groomer. She’s a 5-year-old female Dorgi, a Corgi-Dachshund mix. Mia is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and in good health. She is smart, protective, loving, and independent. She may take a few days to warm up to new people, but treats help her feel more comfortable. Once she trusts you, Mia enjoys belly rubs, playing with her toys, chewing on her split elk antler, and running around the yard. She has a wonderful personality and is very loyal to her favorite person. Mia is content to relax and chew on her antler while you work, so she doesn’t need constant attention. When she’s ready for affection, she’ll happily put her antler aside to spend time with you. What Mia Needs: Mia is looking for a home where she can be the only pet, without children or small animals. She loves attention and needs someone who can give her lots of love and care. A fenced yard is important for her potty breaks and walks. It’s also important to keep her on a healthy diet to help her stay well. We’ll provide you with all the guidance you need to care for her. The ideal adopter for Mia is someone experienced with protective or independent dogs or who is willing to learn and follow guidance. Patience is important, as Mia may take time to adjust. A calm, adult-only home is best, and someone home regularly to keep her company would be a great fit. Most of all, Mia needs someone who will love her forever and never leave her behind again. Mia is very protective and needs to be introduced to new people in the right way, since she wants to keep her person and her home safe. This is common for Corgi-Dachshund mixes if they aren’t well socialized. Once she gets to know someone and sees them regularly, she becomes their friend. To support you through these introductions, I will provide a step-by-step guide and be available to answer any questions. For example, when Mia meets someone new, we recommend starting with short, calm visits while Mia remains in a pen within sight of the new person, allowing her to observe you interacting positively with them. Treats and praise help Mia feel secure. I’ll provide detailed instructions for each step and check in after your first introductions to offer advice. Mia tends to prefer women and would make a wonderful companion for a single woman seeking a loyal, protective friend. Meet Freckles Wigglebottom! Freckles is a sweet, happy little guy with a BIG personality! He’s about a year old and has tons of energy. He loves to play, explore, and be right in the middle of whatever is going on. He’s also super curious and always seems excited to see what’s next. He’s a very enthusiastic eater, though, and definitely doesn’t believe in taking his time with his food. He’ll happily let his person handle his food if needed, which is a big plus. He’s still young and learning, so his leash skills are a work in progress. He can also be a little nervous about getting into the car and may need some help and encouragement. Freckles lives with an older dog who would much rather relax than play, while Freckles is always ready for a game! Because of their different energy levels, they’re usually kept separate. He’s also been around cats from a distance and did well. Freckles is just a fun, playful, curious little guy who would do best with someone who can keep up with his energy and continue helping him learn. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDEDMeet Maryann!Maryann is a 5-year-old, 30 lb Corgi/Staffy mix who is one of the silliest, goofiest girls you’ll ever meet! She can be a little slow to warm up to new people, but once she knows you and decides you’re her person, her full personality comes out and she is absolutely hilarious!Maryann loves barrel rolling, throwing herself onto her back for belly rubs, rolling around in the grass, and getting the zoomies. She’s a fun, nutty girl who loves her people and is happy curling up on the couch with them after an adventure.Maryann does well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, although she prefers slow introductions. Her people are definitely her favorite, and she forms very strong bonds with those she trusts.Because Maryann can be selective about new people and become protective of the person she bonds with most, she needs a home that understands how to build trust and set appropriate boundaries. A single-person home with a quieter social life may be the best fit for her. She could also do well with a couple in a rescue-savvy home that is willing to take introductions slowly, respect her boundaries, and thoughtfully work on her attachment to her people.Once she trusts you, Maryann is an affectionate, cuddly, endlessly entertaining companion. She loves going for walks, exploring, and sharing adventures with her favorite people, but she’s equally happy spending an evening snuggled up on the couch. The activists came and saved me and I can't wait to come to America and find a family to love and care for me forever.  Approximately over a million dogs a year are slaughtered to be eaten.  I am so lucky to get a one-way ticket to Seattle to find my new family.  Take me on car rides, walks in the park, and I will become your best friend.  I get along well with people of all ages, gentle kids, and other dogs.  I will do best with a loving family that can give me lots of love, and affection!  On all overseas adoption, we highly recommend our pet rescue dog trainer who will help train your new pup.  My adoption fee of $1,595 will cover my spay/neuter, DA2PP shots, Rabies, Bordetella, Deworm, Heart Worm Test, Microchip, Boarding Fees, Health Certificate and airline transport cost from Korea to Seattle.   A GPS tracker or Apple Air Tag is required for all adopted dogs.
