Story
Louie is a 15 year old dachshund/terrier mix who weighs a little over 17lbs. Louie has a long body, small legs, and the perfect grandpa sugar face. Louie may be 15 years old, but he definitely doesn't act 15. His nose works better than a puppy and he can climb on a table to get your food. You've been warned. Louie loves walks, running around the yard, and eating. This guy loves to eat. He's been pretty good with the other dogs but will become defensive around food and treats so should be fed separately. The most important thing to know about Louie is that he's heartworm positive. We did not know this when we took Louie in so it came as a big surprise to us when we got his bloodwork results. Because of this, Louie must stay in Rhode Island. He cannot cross state lines. Louie has finished his 4-week course of doxycycline and will be getting Advantage Multi monthly for the rest of his life. He may still show as positive for the next 9-12 months. Louie has a grade 4 heart murmur but an echocardiogram did not show any concerns and no heart medications are needed at this time. Louie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and recently had full bloodwork. To apply to adopt Louie, please fill out an application at vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Introducing Trina! 💕 She’s a 1-year-old Dachshund/Terrier mix with the sweetest, funniest little personality. Trina loves being with her people and will happily follow you wherever you go! She’s playful and social, and does great with kids, cats, and other dogs. Trina has a nice medium energy level. She loves a good walk or a romp around the yard, but she’s just as happy curling up on the couch with you when it’s time to relax. She’s crate trained and doing great with house training. Trina is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to find her forever family! ❤️

Story
If you are looking for a professional true crime watcher and lap sitter look no further! Since you’re reading this, you’re obviously looking for a new best friend and, hey, so am I! My name is Buddy, and I am an adorable, incredibly affectionate Dachshund who is also a very young 7-ish years old. I would describe myself as medium sized however my current foster Mom thinks I’m a little chonky. I DO love snacks and am very food motivated. She has said that I am very handsome, stunning with loving eyes and love kissing her and giving her all the affection and kisses. I DO enjoy baths and love the attention that I receive on spa days! I have a unique personality, and nothing makes me happier than seeing someone reach for a leash and or lead to take me outside for a walk or just to play and roll in the grass. I am still working on my leash manners and I foresee in time, being able to be more patient and allow you to keep up with me. I have enjoyed roaming in the fenced in yard and smelling the roses, literally. I am happy to load up into the vehicle and go for rides. I love looking out the windows and sight seeing!During the day, while my foster folks are at work, I am happy to lay around my open crate in the same room with my foster sister while we wait for them to come home. I am learning to not jump when we get company or someone comes over due to my excitement and will, with patience, learn to be calmer. I slept in the crate at night a couple of times, but my foster mom got lonely, so I got in bed with her and my foster sister (she is 70 pounds! Talk about chonky!).I do seem to get along well with other dogs and recently went for a nail trim and there were several dogs there to meet and greet, and we all seemed to like each other and get along. The groomer and I bonded instantly, and I do make friends quickly. I am interested in the cat here, where I stay, but she doesn’t like me…you know how uppity some cats can be. I think my ideal human(s) would be either a quiet older person or a retired couple who could devote their time to me. I bond strongly with my special person and am looking for someone who can be home with me, and we can solve true crime shows together. I don’t care for sudden movements or loud noises and will be discerning about new people, so I don’t think that I would like to be around small children. I think that small people and their energy may be overwhelming to me, but I hear that’s typical for pups like me. I am a very smart boy who prefers routine and will alert (bark) when I want to go outside to potty or just get out of the house, of course I know that a treat is coming when I’ve been a “good boy”. So, what do you say? Wanna give it a try? I really need a bestie and someone to watch TV with. Please reach out soon!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Buddy's adoption fee is $300. If transport is needed, there are additional fees to cover department of agriculture requirements and transport, the additional fee adds $300 to the adoption fee (any location out of Tennessee, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)Thank You for Your Interest in Adopting a Canine Companion from Foccas-tn.org!To Apply Please Copy and Paste to your browser:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=hb2428&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Hubert **Not Available to Be Seen Until Open House on Wednesday August 26th!** 2 yrs./25 lb./Male/Dachshund Mix Name: Hubert Age: 2 years Weight: 25 lbs Breed: Dachshund Mix Status: One blue eye, one brown eye, and both are looking for forever. About Me: Hi, I’m Hubert! I’m a 2-year-old Dachshund mix with a snowy white coat, one brilliant blue eye, one warm brown eye, and a look that makes me pretty hard to forget. At 25 pounds, I’m a great in-between size—not too big, not too small, and just right for tagging along with my favorite person. I’m past the puppy stage, but I’m still a young guy with plenty of life ahead of me and lots of adventures left to have. I’m ready for the good stuff now: walks with my person, a home where I belong, a favorite spot to relax, and someone who gets excited to see me every single day. I’ve already got the eyes to make people stop and stare—now I’m hoping to catch the eye of the person who’s been looking for a dog just like me. Best Qualities Unforgettably handsome Perfect medium-small size Young and ready for adventure One-of-a-kind eyes Ready to be someone’s best buddy Ideal Match I’m looking for someone who wants a true sidekick—the kind of person who grabs the leash and says, “Come on, Hubert!” Whether we’re taking a walk, checking out a new trail, hopping in the car, or just hanging around together, I’d love a life where I get to be part of the plan. I’m ready to find my person and start making some memories together. Deal Breakers A life where I’m always watching the adventures from home Not making time for walks, enrichment, and quality time together Thinking my unique good looks are my best feature before getting to know me Fun Fact: My eyes don’t match, but I’m hoping you and I do.
