She is friendly but shy at first. She enjoys other animals and kids. She loves to be close to her person and would love to be able to snuggle. She enjoys toys and running and playing. Due to being unsocialized in the beginning of her life, she is stressed about a leash but once she warms up more with her people, she can be trained. A fenced backyard would be most ideal for her at the moment.Ideal home/family: Starla would do well with a family or single companion. ##2413116##

Story
I’m Bobbie Jean, a 3-year-old, 11-pound Dachshund. I was on my own down South and taken in by a kind foster who saw I deserved a chance at a great life. My foster says I’m spunky, silly, and cuddly. I have lived with other dogs and get along with them but would prefer to be your one and only or to have one mellow canine sibling; I like to be the queen! I’m house trained and crate trained. I’m chill and then have spurts of playfulness. No cats, please. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and someone will get right back to you.

Story
I’m Holly, a spayed 2-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund from Louisiana. I was seized from the same home as Esther and Mary. I was terrified in the shelter and the local rescuer, LAMA, took me out of there. But despite that rough start, I'm looking for my person who will look beyond that and who will shower me with love and good nutrition. A gentle adopter would be best for me. I'm good with other dogs, lived with children, not exposed to cats but can be tested. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and someone will get right back to you. Available after 5/20/25.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Burns (pawaffectionrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Cocoa is as sweet as they come.  At ten years of age, she has found herself looking for her forever home, due to no fault of her own.  She is a bit camera shy so we will post more pictures as soon as possible. Cocoa would like a home where her alone time is minimal.  She was her mom's emotional support animal and went absolutely everywhere with her, so we would like an adopter that likes to take their pup along for the ride.   She has tried to initiate play with other pups in her foster home, so a companion animal would be a plus but not a deal breaker. Cocoa is a good watch dog and therefore may not be appropriate for apartment/condo living.  (She will bark loud when someone knocks on the door.) She is potty trained.  We were told that she chooses the men in her life carefully but has had no problem at all with her foster dad.  She let him know when she was ready to meet him.  Cocoa is somewhat aloof, will sit on your lap for a few minutes but it is not her favorite spot.  She generally prefers to follow you around and when appropriate sit on your feet.  When held, she will give you little kisses.  She loves to play with her toys and snuggle under blankets in her bed. Cocoa has recently been diagnosed with kidney disease and is on meds and k/d food.  The cost per day for meds and food is approximately $2.00.
