Story
Got him as a puppy. He has been such an amazing dog. He absolutely loves cuddling and does not leave your side. He loves being loved. He walks great on a leash and loves to carry packages and mail back home. He is great with other dogs, at dog parks he’d rather be sitting next to you instead of playing with the rest of the dogs. We brought home our baby in August and he has been very protective of him but does not allow my husband, family, or friends around the baby. I hate to rehome him as I’ve had since he was a puppy but my husband is tired of being barked at every time he’s around the baby.

Hi, I’m Scooby! I’m a 6-year-old Chiweenie with a relaxed, easygoing personality. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I’m a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle. I’m a pro at spreading smiles and showering my people with kisses! I walk nicely on a leash and would make the perfect snuggle buddy for someone special. Currently, I am available for adoption. If you`re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Story
Meet Coaly - Your New Best Friend! Breed: Dachshund Mix Age: 2 Years Old Weight: 15 Pounds   Coaly is a pint-sized bundle of joy with a heart full of love! This sweet, snuggly boy is the ultimate cuddle companion. He adores curling up under blankets and being close to his humans. He’s house-trained, walks like a pro on a leash, and while crates aren’t his favorite, he’s completely non-destructive and trustworthy when left alone.   Coaly’s personality is as charming as his floppy ears. He gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and people of all ages. One of his cutest quirks? He loves to collect socks, scrunchies, or any little treasure he finds on the floor and proudly parade them around like trophies. You might want to keep things off the floor. He sometimes mistakes them for toys and gives them a good chew!   With zero aggression and endless affection, Coaly is gentle, playful, and always ready to brighten your day.   His dream home? One with another playful pup! Coaly thrives with a canine companion to wrestle and romp with. He’s happiest when he has a buddy to share his joyful energy.   Whether you're looking for a walking partner or a snuggle bug, Coaly is ready to be your loyal sidekick and bring warmth, laughter, and love into your life. Story
Meet Fawn Fawn and her best friend Gus were surrendered when their dad could no longer care for them. These two are bonded and will be adopted together. We understand that might make it harder for them to find a home, but their love for each other is deep and they thrive when together. Fawn is a doxi. She’s about 1.5 years old. Fawn has a beautiful fawn colored smooth coat and warm brown eyes. She is a little overweight right now and we’re watching her diet closely. Fawn is an angel. She has the sweetest personality. She and Gus will both get in your lap for a good snuggle. Both pups walk well on leashes and enjoy getting out on walks and exploring They travel fine in a car. They like other dogs and both do fine with cats. They are calm, and quiet yet very playful. They are an adorable and happy couple. They love running in the yard and exploring. They enjoy sunbathing too. These two will make for wonderful companions. We don’t think they are house-trained, but we think they could learn quickly. If you love smaller dogs, and the doxi breed especially, check out their profiles. They would love to be part of a family who treats them kindly and loves them. If looking to welcome Fawn and Gus to your heart and home, fill out an application at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Tucker Sweet Tucker and his brother Archie were surrendered when his family fell on hard times. His mama was run over. He and his brother survived but were living outside. Once they were surrendered, the brothers were cleaned up, fed and put into foster care. They are thriving! Tucker may be shy of the camera but he’s an energetic, happy and healthy puppy. He and Archie play all day until they are spent, and only then is it time for a nap. Lol! Tucker is curious, playful, sweet and ready to find a loving family. We’re not sure what his breeds are but mom was small/ medium size. We are guessing maybe dachshund/beagle mix. Tucker isn’t growing a ton and may take after mom. If looking for an adorable three month old puppy to welcome to your family, Tucker and Archie are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. Tucker and Archie are pretty cute! Get your application in! If interested in welcoming Tucker and Archie to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org.
