Story
Meet Momma At 12 years old, sweet Momma is new to our care, and we're giving her the time she needs to settle in before making assumptions about her personality, preferences, and ideal home. Dachshunds are often affectionate, clever, curious, confident, and devoted to their people. Despite their small size, they can have big personalities and a strong sense of independence. They often enjoy companionship and cozying up with their people, while still retaining the spirited personality that makes the breed so special. At 12 years old, she is a senior dog, and her needs may be different from those of a younger Dachshund. We'll continue getting to know her activity level, comfort with handling, and daily routines as she settles in. The right home We're looking for an adopter who understands that senior dogs may need a little extra patience and care and is prepared to provide: A calm, stable home environment Time to decompress and adjust Plenty of companionship and affection A predictable routine Age-appropriate exercise and enrichment Comfortable accommodations that are mindful of the Dachshund's long back A commitment to ongoing senior veterinary care We're still learning who this sweet senior is. Rather than rushing to define her, we're giving her the time and space to show us her personality. We'll continue updating her profile as we learn more about what she likes, needs, and what kind of home will make her happiest. About this dog Breed: DachshundAge: 12 yearsGender: FemaleHealth: Vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on preventive care. Adoption Details An adoption fee of $200 fully covers her medical start, including current vaccines, microchip, and her spay at one of our partner vets. Story
Just like her sweet name, Biscoff is a gentle girl with a heart that's slowly blossoming. She has made incredible progress in foster care and is looking for a patient family who will continue to help her shine. Biscoff is both potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to the right home. She gets along well with most dogs, although she may bark at other dogs while she's on a leash. Once she's had the opportunity to meet them appropriately, she does well and truly benefits from having another confident canine companion. Watching and following her furry friends has helped her gain confidence, so a home with another friendly dog is a must for this sweet girl. One of Biscoff's favorite parts of the day is her long daily walks. They've become something she genuinely looks forward to and have played a huge role in helping her build confidence. After a nice walk, she's always ready for treats—especially her favorite afternoon chew! Biscoff has come so far. She now comes to her foster mom asking to be picked up onto the couch or bed, where she'll happily snuggle up beside you for pets and cuddles. While she loves affection, she prefers it on her own terms and can still be nervous if someone reaches down toward her while standing. She'll need a family that understands she's still building trust and will let her move at her own pace. Because she's still timid, Biscoff will need to remain on a leash whenever she's outside to keep her safe. If you're looking for a sweet, quiet companion and have a friendly dog who can show her the ropes, Biscoff will reward your patience with the most heartwarming moments as she continues to grow into the confident, loving girl she's becoming.   Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11-3 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.   Follow us on Facebook for additional updates and sneak peeks of new dogs!  https://www.facebook.com/reachrescue ##2764505##

Story
So my name is Betty! I am a beautiful long hair 6 year old Dachshund. My coat is rich redish brown with tan markings. I have big soulful eyes and short little legs. My favorite thing is to snuggle on a lap. I recently arrived in foster care with Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue. I have already showed what a sweetheart I am. Betty is not fully housetrained, but she is catching on quick. She is also learning what that leash thing is and how it works. Betty gets along with the other dogs in the foster home and even the cats. My foster mom, Maggie thinks a home with people teenage and up would be best. If you are interesting in adopting Betty please put an application in at tinypawssmalldogrescue.org.
