ONCE APPROVED, PLEASE EMAIL US ( INFO@ANIMALHOUSESHELTER.COM ) OR GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Meet Benito – A Gentle Soul with a Big Heart Benito is a sweet senior who came to us from a hoarding situation. Life hasn’t always been easy for this little man, but despite it all, he still has so much love to give. He’s shy at first and needs a bit of time to feel safe, but once he does, his quiet affection shines through. Benito is good with other dogs and would do best in a patient, loving home where he can continue to heal and feel secure. He may be small, but his heart is full of hope. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a chance, Benito is waiting for you. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Story
Meet Ottis aka Oddie (DOB 5/21/2023) our best guess is that Ottis is a Teddy Rosevelt terrier/Dachshund mix. He’s a small stocky guy less than 20lbs If you’ve been looking for a small, young, pup who is crate, leash, and potty trained, look no further than our man Oddie! Some of Oddie’s favorite things: Walks, sleeping in bed (especially when his favorite human can join him for a cuddle!), treats like bacon and lunchmeat, and he loves his crate it’s his safe place where he can go to chill. Also, Oddie doesn’t mind baths, but keep that hairdryer far far away! Dislikes: Loud noises, not having a quiet space. Oddie would do best in a home without children as loud noises scare him and cause him stress. If Oddie sounds like the gentleman to complete your family fill out an application on our website! https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/

Story
Meet Todd – Your New Best Friend Oooh, Todd! That’s what my foster mom and dad say when they see me—because I’m just that cute. I’m told I might be a mix of Black Mouth Cur and something else, but all I know is I’m one handsome guy. I’m about 1.5 years old, weigh around 35 pounds, and have slightly short legs—but that doesn’t slow me down one bit. I love playing outside with my foster siblings and keeping up with all the fun. At night, I sleep quietly on a bed in my foster parents’ room. I’m so well-behaved that I don’t even need a crate. I came up from Kentucky with my sister, who looks a lot like me, and I’ve been settling in really well. I love being near my people—I'll happily lay next to you or curl up by your feet. I enjoy car rides and am learning how to walk nicely on a leash. I’d love a yard with a fence to run around in, but I’d also do great with daily walks. I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines, and ready to find my forever family. I get along with other dogs, cats, kids, and adults, though I can be a little shy at first. Once I warm up, I’m loyal, gentle, and full of love. If I sound like the perfect addition to your life, please apply to adopt me at safehavendogsil.org/adopt. I can't wait to meet you. Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.
