I am 23lbs and I am looking for my forever home. I AM IN FOSTER CARE! PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION. ONCE APPROVED, PLEASE EMAIL US ( INFO@ANIMALHOUSESHELTER.COM ) OR GIVE US A CALL AND WE CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOU TO MEET ME! Adoption Donation: $250 Meet Lil Man – A Gentle Soul in Search of Peace Quiet | Dog-Friendly | Sweet and Shy Lil Man is a quiet, tender-hearted boy looking for a calm and loving home. He can be shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweetness shines through. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and would do best in a peaceful environment, adults only, where he can come out of his shell at his own pace. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Lil Man might be your perfect match. Give this sweet boy the quiet life he’s been waiting for. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also cannot guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown. We look forward to seeing you soon! Story
Brooks is an adorable 2-year-old Dachshund mix with a handsome mix of black, brown, and white fur! This little guy is still finding his confidence around new people and dogs, but he’s made so much progress in his foster home. He loves going for walks and exploring, though he can get a bit nervous if there’s too much noise or traffic. Recently, Brooks has started to discover the joy of toys—they only hold his attention for a short while, but it’s so fun to see him play! Brooks absolutely adores snacks (any kind will do!) and will happily show off his “sit” and “stay” skills when treats are involved. He’s a cuddly boy once he feels comfortable and especially loves snuggling up with his foster family. Brooks sleeps in his crate at night and does well with that routine, though he sometimes needs a little extra encouragement. He’s mostly potty trained and uses a pee pad if he doesn’t want to go outside, especially on chilly nights. Brooks loves playing with his doggy foster sibling—they’re the best of friends! Because he’s still learning to share, his foster family feeds them separately and gives treats one at a time. Brooks will thrive in a patient, loving home that gives him time to warm up, plenty of yummy treats, and all the cuddles he deserves! For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. All of our dogs and puppies go home spayed or neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested (for dogs 7 months and older). They are also up to date on core vaccines, as well as heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Each adoption includes a 3.5-pound bag of dog or puppy food and a free vet exam at one of our participating veterinary partners.

Story
About Me: Name:  Tallulah Breed (or best guess): Chiweenie Approximate Age: 3 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 13# Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Patient, loving family Why In Rescue: stray/lost dog Profile:  Tallulah was a stray/lost dog from Milwaukee County.  Because of this we don't have a history or background on her.  We don't know if she was housetrained or if she lived with other pets or children.  When she first came into rescue, she needed a bit of time to warm up to the caretakers, but it didn't take long and she was asking for attention.  She may need time to warm up to new people at first, and would likely prefer a home without young children that may be a little too wild for her.  She has a kennel mate that she came into animal control with (Tameka), so she may like to have a canine companion, but it isn't required.  If interested, please fill out the pre-adoption application on the Bichon and Little Buddies website. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS November 27, 2025, 11:22 pm
