Brandy is a beautiful 6-year-old Miniature Long-Haired Dachshund who is finally getting her chance at a real life after retiring from a puppy mill breeding operation. Like many puppy mill survivors, Brandy was never properly socialized, so she is extremely shy and cautious around people. Despite her fearfulness, she is a very sweet little girl who simply needs time, patience, and understanding to learn that people can be kind and loving.Shortly after coming to Misty Eyes, Brandy experienced a ruptured disc and required surgery. Unfortunately, back problems are not uncommon in Dachshunds, particularly those who have been poorly bred. Brandy has recovered from her surgery and completed her physical therapy. She is able to walk and continues to make progress, although she may never have a completely normal gait. Continued walking will help maintain her strength and mobility. To protect her back, she should avoid stairs (although a couple of steps are okay), jumping, and trying to stand on her back legs.Brandy is currently thriving in a Misty Eyes foster home, where she is beginning to discover what it means to be a cherished companion instead of simply a puppy-producing dog. She will need a calm, patient adopter who is willing to let her progress at her own pace and help her build confidence in her new world. A friendly, easygoing dog who isn`t overly active would be an important part of her new family, providing her with a buddy and mentor.Brandy has been through a lot, but she is ready to begin the next chapter of her life. This handsome gentleman is looking for his forever best friend and snuggle partner. Watson is a gentle mannered boy that loves to be attached to his person. You’ll never be lonely as Watson likes to be right by your side! He really loves snuggling on the couch but also loves napping in his cozy beds. Watson came to the rescue overweight but is doing well with losing weight. He loves going on walks outside. He also loves his stuffies and will carry them around. Watson recently had all his remaining teeth extracted so no more dentals! He aims to please and is very food/treat motivated. He has come a long way with his potty training and with a little more consistent training will continue to improve. He has alopecia and is missing patches of hair on his back; this requires no treatment and does not bother him. He does well with other small dogs and kids. Unknown about cats. Watson is a cuddlebug and would love nothing more than to have a person he can love on all day!

We have had Molly for 8 years. She was a recuse dog and we were told that she was 2 or 3 years old. She has all her shots in July of this year. She likes people and gets along with our grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is mainly an inside dog, but she likes to go for walks. We are not able to take her for walks as much as we would like to because of our age and our health. That is the reason we need to find a loving home for Molly. She has a good appetite and I think she would eat about any food put in front of her. She loves snacks. She is house trained. She loves to answer the door and is friendly to anyone who rings the doorbell. Molly loves to sit with you but doesn't seem to be a lap dog for too long. She is a dachshund mix but the vet says she is 99% dachshund. Since we have had Molly we have kept up with all shots. Molly loves to go for car rides. She stays in the backseat unless you ask her to come to the front seat. Molly is a sweet dog and weights about 18 lbs.
