Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. Spay/Neuter All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment. Freddy is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky boy who is great with dogs and kids! He loves to do big zoomies in a circle, then race right back to you for cuddles. After a long day of playing fetch—where he happily chases the ball, even if he doesn’t always bring it back—Freddy is more than ready to snuggle in. If you’re on the couch, expect him to curl right into your back and soak up the love. Freddy is a joyful, affectionate boy who is absolutely ready to find his forever home. Our mama is Snowdrop, and she’s a petite girl around 20–25 lbs. We are sweet, happy, playful little white bundles of joy! We love to “talk” to each other while chasing toys and playing games of get the toy. We give the very best puppy kisses and adore attention. Meet Lola, an adorable 2–3-year-old Chiweenie weighing just 9 pounds of pure love. 💕 Lola did not have an easy start to life. She was roaming the streets for over two weeks, relying on the kindness of neighbors who fed her while she remained too fearful to be caught. Eventually, we were contacted to help. After setting a humane trap, we were finally able to bring Lola to safety. It’s clear that Lola’s past was not very kind to her. She is extremely shy and nervous around people at first. However, once she feels safe and bonds with her person, she truly blossoms. Lola becomes incredibly sweet and loving, enjoys giving kisses, loves being carried, and will happily follow you from room to room. She enjoys car rides, going to work with her person, eating (one of her favorite activities!), and playing with toys. Lola is a very special little girl, but she does have some quirks that her future family must understand and respect. She does not like strangers, children, large dogs, or female dogs. She does best with small male dogs only. Lola is almost fully potty trained but may have accidents if left unattended. She is kennel trained, though she does not particularly enjoy being kenneled. Lola is looking for a very special home—one that is patient, understanding, and willing to work with her at her pace. In return, she will be an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. Lola was heartworm positive when she entered rescue, but she has successfully completed her heartworm treatment. Meet Winnie! 🐾💕 If you’ve ever dreamed of having a dog who looks like someone accidentally hit the “stretch” button on a lab, then Winnie is your girl. She’s got the longggg, low-rider body of a dachshund and the sweet, expressive face of a mini lab—basically the best of both worlds, compacted into about two feet of pure cuteness. Winnie is the definition of a velcro dog. The second she decides you’re her person (which might only take five minutes, if you’re lucky!), she’ll be your little shadow forever. She’s a lap snuggler, a pet-seeker, and a certified professional in the “follow you everywhere” department. She bonded with her foster mom instantly and has been her tiny sidekick ever since. She’s also cat friendly! She currently lives with two cats and has no interest in being with them, playing with them, or spending time with them. They coexist and live beautifully alongside her dog foster sister! Winnie does need a little patience with new people, especially men. She’s much more comfortable with women and will warm up to a patient guy who’s willing to earn her trust. She did great in her kid test, but she’d prefer a calmer home with kids 12 and up—she’s more of a “gentle movie night” kind of gal than a “chaotic toddler energy” one. Winnie walks beautifully on leash (like, seriously easy) and would be just as happy in an apartment as she would be in a home with a yard to explore. She’s tiny, portable, and ready for any adventure you throw her way—whether it’s a park stroll, a car ride, or a cozy nap marathon.
