His owners are about to have a baby and he is not good with kids. They’ve been trying to find him a home with no luck. he is ok with some dogs but not bigger dogs. *To clarify on how he is with other dogs, owner said-“He would bark at them sometimes, it’s mostly food aggression, if another dog was nearby a food dish and he’s eating, he would bark at them. Story
Riley is a sweet girl! She is a 10 year old, 20 pound chihuahua mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother and two cats. After losing her human, Riley is still getting used to her new environment. Riley is just now allowing for you to pet her. Riley will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Riley enjoys naps on the couch and rolling around outside in the grass. She is working on losing a few pounds. While her foster sisters and brother run around, she enjoys walking a few laps in the backyard following her foster mom.Riley is house trained and sleeps in her crate. She gets along well with the three dogs in the foster home. She recently received dental work and is fully vetted.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 5, 2025, 11:29 am

Story
Young, energetic, and all around the epitome of cuteness! Dylan is a happy and energetic 9 month old dachshund mix. He is 35 lbs now but may have a bit of growing to do.. He has joined our rehoming program as he is a bit too energetic for the old dog in the home. A new home where he can get his energy needs met would be great! He is not a barker, is very sweet. He has been with a 5 year old without issues but we always have the whole family meet. Please contact Our Companions Animal Rescue at 860-242-9999 or e-mail us at helpline@ourcompanions..org

Story
This little low-rider is happiest curled up in a tiny ball on your lap. Meet Tucker: he's all about the cozy life and is looking for a new home to share his snuggles! Tucker is a 4-year-old long hair mini-dachshund available for adoption with our "home to home" Re-homing Program. Mini-dachshunds were bred to hunt rabbits and rodents; they love to actively chase around toys and balls! Being a pure-bred mini-dachshund, Tucker is acting a little too active with a new baby in the home! Tucker's best match would be an adult home with people dedicated to spoiling just him as their baby. He is looking for a home with squeaky toys, comfy beds, and most importantly people to cuddle with. Tucker will do well in all sorts of living situations, like a condo or apartment, but a house with a yard would be a real treat for his zoomies too. Although Tucker has never lived with another dog, his behavior indicates he may do well with other dogs in the home or socializing with canine friends. Tucker takes daily medication that manages his epilepsy without issue; he is also vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. To learn more about adding Tucker to your family, please contact Our Companions at 860-242-9999 or email Helpline@OurCompanions.org!

Story
"LOVE HEALS" Reishi, a 1 year old neutered male Dachshund mix, has overcome incredible adversity to become the loving companion he is today. Rescued from a Tennessee hoarding case, Reishi's early life was marked by neglect, isolation, and overcrowding. Reishi's start in life was far from ideal. Reishi's fosters have witnessed remarkable growth, and he's now ready for a forever home where he'll continue to blossom as a loyal and loving friend. Reishi is truly a remarkable boy. Initially, he may require gentle interactions, avoiding sudden movements, and close proximity. However, once he's deemed you safe, Reishi's true personality shines: happy, goofy, and affectionate. Consistent training, and socialization will help Reishi build trust and confidence.  With his unique long legs, courtesy of his Min Pin mix heritage, Reishi loves to run. He thrives around other dogs and would do best in a home with a doggo sibling(s), Reishi loves being part of a pack! He loves outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime. Older kids (8+) who respect personal space are ideal, while Reishi's curiosity requires a cat-free home. This intelligent pup is always eager to learn and please. He is treat-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement.  By adopting Reishi, you'll not only gain a loving companion, but you'll also provide this special boy a second chance at a happy life. Apply to meet him today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2083262##
