Meet Bugsie! Bugsie is a nervous boy who is looking for an adopter who can give him some extra time, space, and patience while he is becoming adjusted into his new home and to his new person/s. Bugsie is known to be a bit of a couch potato, his favorite thing is cuddling up with her person on the couch and watching a good show. Bugsie does also enjoy a good walk and being outside but a way to win his heart is a comfy place to curl up and some tasty dog treats. We do not have a lot of history on Bugsie, we do know he has lived with other dogs in his past and may like living with another small canine companion, although he was not the biggest fan of living with larger dogs so he asks he does not go home with them again unless they do a meet and seem to become instant besties. Bugsie is very ready to meet you and come home soon! I am a senior dog with a heart murmur that may require more intervention in the future. I currently am feeling good and am happy! Contact the adoption center to learn more about my medical needs. Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available dogs in the shelter. (Dogs in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the dog first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a dog for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available for puppies under six months, on Saturdays, or during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All adult dog adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies and kennel cough vaccinations - heartworm test -current parvo/distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -microchip implanted & registered to adopter -treatment of fleas & ticks -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days of adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your pet.
