Story
Meet Ginger, a 1.5‑year‑old Dachshund mix with a tender heart and a gentle soul. She may be a bit shy with new people and needs some time to adjust to new environments, but once she feels safe, she becomes the sweetest little cuddle bug you could ever hope for. Ginger loves nothing more than to sit in your lap, relax by your side, or go for walks — as long as she’s with her person, she’s happy. She’s good with other dogs, enjoys their company, and would do well with a calm canine friend. Cats, however, tend to spark her barking instincts but does not hurt them, and young kids make her nervous, so a quieter home would help her thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will bond deeply and cherish every moment by your side, Ginger is ready to give her whole heart to the right family. link to adopt: https://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-services.html

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hiya! My name is Scooby, and I’m basically a professional happy boy. I’m a Dachshund/Chi mix with a big personality packed into a little body. My previous owner had too many dogs for the city limit, so me and some of my buddies had to find new homes. The good news? I’m ready to make someone VERY lucky!  When I first arrived I was infested with fleas, and also had a injury to my face. Suspected from a dog bite, but I've got amazing people and vet staff taking care of me with antibiotics and xrays to make sure I'm all ready for my new family.  I love people so much that I sometimes bounce up out of excitement when I meet you. I just can’t help it! I’m all about kisses, tail wags, and making new friends. I also LOVE other dogs and have a blast playing with them and sharing my toys. Toys are kind of my thing, honestly. I’m not sure about this “potty training” business yet, but I’m a smart little guy and eager to please. I’m already neutered, 4DX negative, current on vaccines, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto — so I’m all set and ready to go! My adoption fee is $400. If you think we might be a good match, you can apply for me at www.adoggie4you.org I’m currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast. If I need a ride, there’s an additional $225 transport fee. (I’m not able to travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state rules.)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 8, 2026, 5:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Zeus — a happy, loving little guy who’s ready to steal your heart all over again. This adorable dachshund/terrier mix is searching for a forever family after being recently returned through absolutely no fault of his own. His previous family loved him deeply, but with the kids heading off to college and long work hours leaving little time at home, they made the difficult decision to help Zeus find a family who could give him the attention he deserves. Zeus is friendly, playful, affectionate, and wonderfully social. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and has even done great around cats - his previous owner said he liked to play with them. He’s already fully vetted and ready to go home today — neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, 4DX negative, protected with ProHeart 12, and on Bravecto for flea and tick prevention. Zeus has already known what it feels like to be loved, and now he’s hoping for a forever home where he can be part of the family for good. His adoption fee is $300. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey-a! I’m Mario ❤️ I may be a little guy, but I’ve got a big heart, lots of love to give, and I’m very ready for my happily ever after. I came to rescue from a crowded shelter where I was running out of time, but thankfully I got my second chance — and now I’m hoping my forever family is next! I’m a super friendly boy who loves meeting people. New friends? Amazing. Familiar faces? Even better! I’m always happy to see you and usually come with a wagging tail and cheerful little smile. I really just enjoy being part of the fun and close to my people. I also get along with other dogs and currently share my kennel area with two other male dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, though, because I can sometimes get a little bossy with other boys. What can I say? I like to think I’m in charge sometimes. But overall, I’m still a very good boy and do just fine with proper introductions and respectful dog friends. I’m not sure how I do with cats or young kids yet, but I’ve shown everyone here what a sweet, happy companion I can be. I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so I’m all set and ready to start my next adventure with a family of my own. All I need now is someone to love me forever. Adoption fee: $400 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org Mario is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee.
