Amira is a goofy girl who absolutely loves her people! She’s happiest when she’s right by your side—whether you’re doing chores around the house or settling in for a movie night, she’ll be there keeping you company. Amira does great with other dogs and kids, and she loves playing tug-of-war with her dog friends or proudly carrying a stuffy around like it’s her prized possession. Food is definitely one of her favorite things! When it’s time to eat, she gets so excited she’ll bounce all the way to her kennel like a little bucking bronco. She knows how to sit, and when you ask her to “down,” she’ll happily flop right onto her back. Amira walks on a leash and does well, though she can occasionally get nervous and put on the brakes—but a few treats and some encouragement get her moving again. She’s ready for her forever home and would do great as an only dog or with canine siblings. Amira is just looking for a family to love—and to stick close to forever. Hi all, my name is Lily, or Lil as my foster momma calls me. She says I am the prettiest lil good girl. I sit when told, wait to get my food until momma gives me the okay, and I am doing my best at learning how to lie down when she tells me to. I would love a family with another dog to play with. Although I sometimes shy away from humans at first, once I know I am safe, I will love you and be the best girl I can. I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! I came from a very nice couple who loved me very much, however, they were homeless.
