PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. 🎸 Mick Wagger here... and yes, I rock. Before you ask... yes, I know I'm ridiculously handsome. Between my striking eyes, my one-of-a-kind eye patch, and my adorably floppy ears, I tend to turn a few heads wherever I go. What can I say? I was born to be a star. I'm about 10 months old, weigh around 45 pounds, and my people think I'm a Catahoula/Lab mix. That means I'm smart, athletic, and always up for a good time—but don't worry, I'm not one of those dogs who needs to run a marathon before breakfast. I'd call myself medium energy. I'm just as happy going for a nice walk as I am hanging out with my favorite people afterward. One of my favorite things? Making friends! I love other dogs and have a sweet, easygoing personality that makes me a great companion. Whether we're exploring the neighborhood, playing in the yard, or relaxing at home, I'm simply happy to be part of the fun. I'm still young, so I'm excited to keep learning and discovering the world with my forever family. All I need is a little love, a few treats, and someone willing to tell me what a good boy I am (which, let's be honest, won't be hard). So if you've been looking for a loyal sidekick with rock-star looks and an even bigger heart, your search is officially over. You can't always get what you want... but if you adopt me, you just might find you get exactly what you need. Love, Mick Wagger 🐾🎸

Story
Jolie is a sweet, gentle girl with a heart as big as her smile. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, preferring to take things at her own pace, but once she gets to know you, she blossoms into a loyal and affectionate companion. One of her favorite things in the world is hearing her favorite volunteer call out `Jo-Leeee!`—the moment she hears it, her face lights up with the happiest grin. This lovely lady is wonderfully house-trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and has excellent manners on a harness. Jolie absolutely loves going on walks and exploring the neighborhood, where she can sniff every interesting scent and enjoy the fresh air. Her dream day is packed with outdoor adventures, followed by a cool spot inside for a relaxing nap before she`s ready to head out again. She also rides nicely in the car, though she may be a little nervous at first.Jolie has some adorable quirks that make her extra special. Before settling down to sleep, she carefully scratches and arranges her bed or blanket until it`s just right. If she needs something, she`ll gently nudge you with her nose, and when dinner is taking too long, she`ll politely offer a paw as a reminder. She`s also quite the conversationalist and will happily `talk` to let you know when she`s ready for another walk or needs your attention. After you come home, expect an enthusiastic welcome complete with happy jumps and an immediate roll onto her back for one of her favorite things—belly rubs! She enjoys toys most when her people join in for a game of fetch or tug-of-war.Jolie is looking for a patient adopter who will continue helping her feel safe and successful. She is happiest as the only dog in the home, as seeing unfamiliar dogs on walks can be overwhelming for her. With thoughtful management and a family who understands her needs, Jolie settles into a calm, affectionate companion who thrives on routine and loves spending time with her people. In return, you`ll gain a smart, loyal best friend who will happily accompany you on every walk and adventure before curling up nearby at the end of the day.

Story
Lily: mixed breed (unknown), 1 year old. She is spayed and up-to-date on shots. This bright and ambitious girl is house-broken and crate-trained. Lily loves to play with other dogs and go on walks. She rides well in a vehicle, and her attention is on her human while walking on a leash. Although she is shy and skittish around new people, with a little patience and time, she warms up and wants to be with her human. Due to her boundless energy level, I recommend a fenced yard for her to run around in or an owner who will walk her several times daily. Follow-up training (with Canine Services By Devin) is suggested to keep Lily going in a positive direction and eventually off-leash training if desired. Lily is being fostered in Spring Grove, PA. Story
Current Location: Alexandria, VA Meet Toliver, a handsome, 3-year-old, 60 lb Dalmatian with a heart as big as his spots! If you’re looking for a loving companion who balances adventure with cuddle time, Toliver might just be your perfect match. 🌟 The Highlights Affectionate & Loyal: Toliver bonds quickly with his humans and is a total cuddle bug once he gets to know you. Smart & Food Motivated: He loves treats, which makes training a breeze! He’s already learned to respond great to whistle cues. Medium Energy: He’s up for a fun walk or zoomies in a fenced yard, but he’s just as happy settling down with you afterward. House Training Champ: Nearly fully house-trained (zero accidents in the last week!). Good Dog Manners: Walks nicely on a leash and gets along well with other dogs (he currently lives with a canine foster sibling named Stella). 🐾 Personality & Behavior Toliver is a sweet, eager-to-please boy who is still learning how to manage his excitement. Greeting New Friends: He can be a little unsure meeting new people at first and might express hesitation. However, with a calm introduction, he warms up within about 20 minutes and is ready to make friends. Working on Excitement: When Toliver gets over-stimulated, he tends to express his arousal by getting "mouthy." His current foster uses a super effective redirect strategy—offering him a toy to hold in his mouth—which helps him calm down and self-regulate. Food & Chews: Toliver loves his high-value snacks! Because he loves his treats so much, he will sometimes try to sneak a chew from other dogs, so he does best when high-value treats are managed thoughtfully. 🏡 Ideal Home Toliver is quite adaptable, but he will thrive best in a home that offers: A Savvy Owner: A adopter who is confident with dog body language, willing to continue his training, and ready to help him practice arousal regulation. Exercise & Space: A yard to play in or regular daily walks to burn off a little spotty energy. Other Pets & Kids: He does great with other dogs! Cats and children are currently unknown. Toliver is a loving, resilient boy ready for his next chapter. With a little guidance, consistency, and plenty of love, he is going to make an incredible, devoted companion. Interested in meeting Toliver? Apply today to add this handsome boy to your family! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Orchid is a beautiful Dalmatian mix, about 1.5-2 years old and 22 pounds of pure sugar. She's happy, playful, and full of life! She enjoys playing with her dog friends here at the rescue and would thrive in an active home where she can go on walks, hikes, or runs. Orchid would blend well in just about any family setting with dogs or children. Orchid is from a hoarding case but she doesn't show any signs of abuse or neglect and is a resilient little girl. She'd make a fantastic companion for a family ready to give her the activity and affection she craves. Orchid is Heart worm and Chagas negative. Orchid is located at our shelter near San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to Frederick, MD on August 22nd with approved application and confirmed adoption. Her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes transport cost. Every dog adopted through Tracy's Paws receives: Chagas, heart worm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) All core vaccines (age-appropriate) Heart worm and flea/tick preventatives Regular De-worming Spay/neuter surgery Microchip Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.
