Story
Downey is a very sweet, friendly, high energy year and half old boy!. He likes everybody, likes to play, run and jump. He sometimes forgets his size and strength, plays a little too rough with the cats, or gets excited when meeting people. He is a dream pet for someone with a yard, other pets and kids to play with or someone who wants a companion for outdoor activities, he’ll fit many situations. He is smart and will find his own games to play if he’s not stimulated. He is crate trained and likes music but prefers to hang with his people, kinda like Velcro! He is quite an oversized snuggle-bug and loves to sleep with you. He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home.

Her gorgeous black and white coat shines like jewels everyday. Blair enjoys being brushed and petted by her family members, so she knows shes loved and cared for. Blair is a female, pointer mix. She is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Blair is a very energetic dog given her breed group! She will need lots of play time, tug'of'war and more to keep her healthy happy and content. When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! Birdie is a sweet name for this sweet and spicy girl! She is a pointer mix and definitely has the drive of a pointer, in a smaller body :) I found myself recently, wandering around in S Texas looking for a loving family to save me! Luckily I found just the right foster family! Now, I TRY not to chase the chickens on their mini farm...however, haven't you heard?? Chicken is the first white meat and I just like it! SoOOOOO, needless to say, Birdie is not good with prey type animals in the house- cats, chickens, cute birds, lizards, etc etc.... Birdie does have some AMAZING qualities as well.... I LOVE KIDS!!! (there I said it), I would be and ideal family dog. I love other playful dogs as well so that is no problem to meld into a famil with their other dog. I am a "petite flower" about 40# of total love who is waiting for you to step up and save my life!! APPLY NOW!! ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!! Our dogs lives' depend on it!! Meet Rio! A 12 pound, 3 month old adorable pup who was found all alone behind a grocery store. He is absolutely adorable, and such a fantastic dog.  A note from foster mom: “Rio is a such a sweet and playful boy! He loves playing with his foster brothers and is learning to play tug. He will run in the yard, play with his own toys and even cuddle during the work day sometimes. He likes to know his human is close, but is learning to be a little more brave with his foster brothers leading the way.  He does really well in the kennel both during the day and overnight. With potty breaks every 2 hours during the day, and supervised play time there have been no accidents in the house or kennel so far.  He eats well in his kennel and is such an amazing puppy! He will steal your heart and make the best pup for the right family!” If you are interested in getting approved to meet this boy, who is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and on monthly preventatives, please complete the application below. His adoption fee is $450, with $50 refunded after proof of age appropriate neuter. &#239&#191&#188 https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-applicationApril 26, 2024, 1:24 pm

If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Miss Freckles  (MIS0424OWSFS)Estimated Breed:   Pointer / English Setter MIX  Approximate Age:   1-2 yearsApproximate Weight:   36 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Miss Freckles is a loving and energetic dog who is in search of a home where she'll be shown an abundance of love, attention, and stimulation. She loves to play outside, and if she could, she would be outside all day long. She is not one to play fetch, but she enjoys running around outside and chasing birds. Miss Freckles does really well on walks and loves them. She is used to being walked on a harness, but will also probably do well on a collar. She is great with routine, tends to learn pretty quickly, and she is treat/food motivated. She enjoys chewing on bones and toys along with cuddling and giving lots of kisses. She has crate anxiety and she might have some separation anxiety as well after 5-6 or so hours of being left alone. She does not like loud, busy streets and does not like cars or going near cars. She tends to get car sick, but she will get used to a car pretty quickly if she is loaded in and out for short drives. She would be a good fit for an active family that is home most of the time. Miss Freckles would thrive somewhere with less traffic and a big yard for her to explore. If her new home has another dog or dogs, she would be fine with them and will most likely want to play. Submit an application today and give Miss Freckles a chance to have the forever home that she deserves!Freckles is not destructive at all and just sleeps on the couch at night. I have cameras all over my house so I can watch her at night or when I'm out. She doesn't appear to have separation anxiety or anything like that. Her favorites include laying in the grass, playing with a ball, zooming, destroying fluffy toys (she doesn't swallow any of the fluff) and snuggling on the couch. She has been around men and women without any problem. She has seen my cat several times and doesn't seem to care. We haven't been around kids yet, but I have no doubt she would be fine. Freckles is going to love her person, whoever adopts her, and will be very loyal to that person. She has no interest in leaving my side! The biggest issue she seems to have right now is getting frightened while on walks. Things like big buses, loud cars, or sudden movements seem to jar her a bit. Though she recovers quickly a busy city would probably not be a good fit for her.  She seems interested in other dogs and is very playful. She's learning to walk on a leash. She's not great, but she's also not bad at all. All in all, she's a lovely dog!" Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. Meet Bilbo Baggins! (And if you aren’t a Lord of the Rings fan, he answers to Billy also!) This relatively chill, young, perfectly medium-sized hound ended up in the shelter with a number spray-painted on his side late last year, and oh how far he has come since! He’s affectionate, smart, listens, comes when called, is house and crate trained, and gets along with other dogs of all sizes and ages. Bilbo also likes children 8 and above (he hasn’t met any younger than that.) He’s very agile and has lots of energy for playing and running, but then comes inside and is also happy curling up on the sofa with you, or in an empty easy chair or dog bed. Bilbo enjoys car rides and exploring new things, too. He also doesn’t seem to have much or any prey drive. His foster said he can still be a little jittery or get startled by loud or strange noises or movements, and he’s on a low-cost daily med to help him with that. We don’t know his history before he came to us, of course, but he’s happy being part of the family and flexing to whatever his family is doing!  If you are interested in Bilbo, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 8:20 pm

Story
Our pretty little girl is called Cora and what a loving and sweet little Pointer mix girl she truly is.  She loves playing with other dogs and sleeping in the bed with her foster mom.  This little girl was one of 8 puppies left in an outdoor pen and basically abandoned by the former owner when they loved.  Neighbors stopped by for 3 months to feed and water the puppies and sadly that was all.  They grew and grew and eventually started fighting over the little food they had and the small pen was just so confining. One of the great Critter Cavalry Rescue foster moms heard of their plight and went to get them out of their hot, and confining pen that offered no exercise and not enough food daily…and NO HUMAN LOVE.  Now Cora and her siblings are seeking homes where they can spread their wings and bask in the love and care of their new families.  Cora is remarkably loving and fun and seems to not have been emotionally stunted by their early months of growing up abandoned.  We know that she loves other dogs!  She plays with a 45 pound black lab male that is a year old and “Her and Bo are like two peas in a pod”.  They absolutely love playing together, tug of war, chasing each other in the yard, or just sleeping in the dog bed together.  Cora is good with cats and loves the young children that are in the home, even with all their noise and high energy play.  She is almost there with her potty training and she is good with being in the crate at times needed.  Cora relates to people and loves them.  She always needs to be right by someone and loves to lay on your feet. She has learned not to be possessive of her good or toys as she first started out being.  We totally understood the possessiveness and now she is relaxed and eager to share.  This pretty girl and her siblings have come such a long way.  We are so happy for them to be in out foster care and receiving the love that they so readily deserve.  If you really want to adopt a “rescued dog” then Cora is the total definition of a rescued puppy! If you are interested in making her your own please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com!!! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
My name is Breanna and I am a pretty little girl puppy that is almost 5.5 months old and born around May 1st.  I won’t bore you with the sad story because most of the southern pups have one, but I was lucky that me and my 7 siblings got out of our situation alive.  I didn’t have the best start to my life and I wasn’t handled by loving people when my litter was born.  In fact the people moved off and left all of my litter in an outdoor pen with no food or water.  Luckily some neighbors there in the country learned of this and brought us some food and water a few days each week.   I have to eat all by myself because I am fearful another dog might take my food if there is one around.  But my foster mom says that I am the most loving and dearest, sweetest girl on the planet.    I love to snuggle with her and I love to have her tell me how pretty that I am and loved, too. Naturally when I first meet new people, I am timid for just a short time and then I warm up when I feel that they will be nice to me.   I adore playing and being with other dogs and I could be at a dog park every day and I would be in heaven.  I could also live with other dogs or cats in a home and that would be fun too!  My foster mom says that I am like a Teddy Bear at night as I sleep right next to her in the best snuggle position ever.  I am crate trained and I truly like my crate and sometimes when I want some alone time I will go there on my own.  I would love to have a family with another dog that could be my best friend and show me the ropes of confidence.   I also would like to go to some fun training classes too.  I am smart and would love to learn more about being the best dog I can be.  I am using a harness right now and that is my best way to walk on a leash.  I will whine when I need to go outside but it is still hard for me to go 8 hours straight without going outside.  When I grow up I will be a 45 -50 pound girl.  I will be a loving and very devoted girl that you always be proud that you rescued and adopted.  Let’s be forever friends!   Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com right now!    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Sometimes in the rescue world our stories about a dog we are presenting for a home just kind of leaves us a little speechless for adequate words. This boy that we call “Good Friend Charlie” is one of those deep and touching stories that we know only God had a hand in making come true as he was rescued. His foster mom Rachel calls him “a dream dog!”  But when she stumbled upon him hanging out on her countryside property where she raises chickens and geese and many other dogs that belong to her…she was not so sure of his friendly intentions.  We believe Charles was dumped in her area where he roamed for approximately 3 months, many attempting to catch him but failing as he was smart and elusive.  He roamed onto foster mom, Rachel’s property and within 2 days came out of survival mode (he would bark and bark at her while she was outside tending to her geese and chickens) and when she offered him a blanket one night as he laid in her flowerbed all curled up in 10 degree weather, he soon came back into domesticated mode the next morning.  Because of being abandoned, Good Friend Charlie has some separation anxiety and will need you to be patient while you earn his trust that he won’t be abandoned again and that you will come back for him when you leave.  This boy loves all other animals; dogs, cats, geese, chickens and he loves people of all ages.  He is only 3 years of age and weighs 50 pounds.  We think the grey on his face might be from early stress in his life.  Maybe from uncertainty that he has felt in whatever former life he lived. Good Friend Charlie is well-trained and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, off and wait. He even waits for permission to exit the door and waits for you to tell him he can eat his food.  He does well on a leash but he prefers to roam on his own and rarely will go more than 4 feet from you. This special dog would be wonderful for someone that does live on some acreage and just wants an indoor and outdoor companion and who is working from home or just retired and kicking back in their life.  He loves to ride in the car shotgun style in the passenger seat and he is a homebody’s best friend.  Charlie knows exactly what he wants and will alert you with a few barks to let you know he wants to go outside, or his water bowl is empty, or even when he is ready for bedtime and he is house trained.  He does have some jealousy if you are giving attention to other animals but he is easily corrected and gets better daily as he learns more about coexisting in this new home environment.  He takes to correction like a champ!  If you really want to adopt a dog that is the definition of “Man’s Best Friend” then Good Friend Charlie is your dog for a lifetime.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to ask about an adoption application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 23, 2024, 4:30 pm
