Story
Roxy came to us from a very sad situation living a life outside and often tied up. She was loaded with ticks, and during her spay surgery it was discovered she had early stage Lyme disease. She is now treated for it and is ready to find her own loving forever home where she can be part of a family. Roxy is a 1-year old puppy, Pointer and American Staffordshire Terrier mix who currently weighs 45 lbs. She is people and dog friendly and has no reactivity towards cats on her walks. She has been around children age 12 and up and has been very cuddly with them right from the start. However, she is a fearful initially of strangers and will try to hide and avoids them. It will take her a little time to get used to new people in her life. Once she feels safe and comfortable around them, Roxy becomes a total love bug wanting cuddles and belly rubs and gives lots of kisses in return. When Roxy arrived at her foster home she exhibited some separation anxiety when left alone overnight inside her crate. But she is getting so much better about it and is getting used to the routine. We think it would be helpful for Roxy to find a home where someone works from home most of the time or is home with her during the day. She is used to sleeping inside her crate at night and is doing well with it now. She would also benefit having a fenced yard where she can run and play off leash with another dog. She loves to play with dogs and her toys, and chew on her chew toys. Roxy walks well on a leash and enjoys her walks. She also loves playing with her fury friends big and small at her foster home. She seems to enjoy being in water, baths not so much but will tolerate them. Four Years. That’s a LONG time to wait for a family.  Hi, I’m Bobby, and I’m still waiting for my forever home. Four years ago, my sister Blair and I were found wandering the neighborhood, just two sweet black-and-white pups looking for somewhere safe to belong. A kind person saw us and gave us the chance we needed. I’ve been safe, loved, and cared for ever since—but there’s one thing I’m still missing…My very own person. My best friend. My forever family. I’m a happy, playful boy who loves attention and would absolutely love someone to share life with. I’m ready for adventures, walks, exploring, playing, and then settling in beside my favorite person when the day is done. I have plenty of love to give and would really like someone to give it all to! I’ve made lots of friends over the years and have learned that new people and new dogs can be pretty great. Peggy is a petite girl weighing a whopping 25 lbs! She is approximately 11 months old. We believe once full grown she will be around 38-40 lbs. Her siblings are all staying pretty small! This gentle girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this fur-baby until their forever home is found. Peggy was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. Peggy was the smallest of the bunch, so she was probably picked on a lot more than the other doggies. Her siblings are Hulk, Nebula, Wanda, Thor and Black Widow, who are also available for adoption! She is much calmer than the other dogs at the sanctuary. Peggy likes to play, but she also likes to just sit back and watch everyone else cause trouble. She will run along side of them, with sometimes joining in the rough housing. She likes to ref the other dogs by barking at them playing. Peggy would be great for a calmer household – play in the backyard with another dog and her toys. She is working on her leash training – she is crate trained. Peggy loves playing in the water and laying in the kiddy pool, cooling off. If you want a smaller doggy to stay by your side, to cuddle with and to enjoy the nice days outside – Peggy is a wonderful choice. Peggy is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
