Name: Polo         Best Guess for Breed: German shorthaired pointer mix Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of September 2025       SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight: 53 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Polo is Looking For:  Adventure! Polo looks like a mix but take it from us - that dog is a prime example of the sporting breed - German Shorthaired Pointers. Keen nose, high intelligence, and boundless energy - check, check, and check! He's up for plenty of mental and physical enrichment - advanced agility training, nosework, lots of running in parks, or lots of of long excursions out in nature or any combination thereof will make Polo a happy, tired dog. AND all those will help bond Polo and his humans intensely while having so much fun. He and his forever family will be very lucky to have each other!  What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once he has spent time in foster care Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Knox is a fantastic playful young man..originally my sisters dog but she recently had some severe health problems and he has been staying wirh us since, although I have kiddos who are allergic. We spuld love to find him a forever home. He is the absolute sweetest, good with older kids...not sure about young ones as he has never been around them. He loves to go on walks and is doing fairly well on the leash. Loves to play ball more than anything in the world. Is very food motivated so has been easy to train. House train and crate trained

When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! Old Yeller, is that a new trend? Old stuff made NEW?? Cause I am NOT old, although I am Yeller, a really pretty YELLER COLOR!!! :) I am a Yeller Chesapeake bay retriever/ YELLER lab mix, it is important for my new family to know about the Chesapeake bay breed. We can be very stubborn, smart and independent and I really like to be in charge, so my new family needs to be strong leaders too. I am a handsome bloke, with swirls of yellow and white all through my coat. I am very smart and very sweet. I can from a high kill shelter with no hope- Now I EXUDE hope!! And LOVE!!! I WAS heartworm positive but have already finished the treatment and am NEGATIVE and just stay on prevention for the rest of my life. I am good with other dogs, but really would be best in an only dog home, cause I want all the attention :) I LOVE MY people and I tend to take "control" of my home so have to have a couple of things... 1) STRONG leadership owner, 2) I have to have an owner who will be wiling to not let me meet everyone who visits.. I want to protect my home a little too much... and 3) I have to stay in the San Antonio/TX area so my rescue friends can keep close tabs on me and how i am doing :) I have been running and playing since I am safe, but really am a couch potato. I am a bigger boy and about 65-70#. Look me up, get my number, text or call me OR just APPLY to ADOPT ME!!! I will be waiting by the phone!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
