Sunny (as we call her here) is 54lbs, 3yrs old, well mannered, obedient, gentle, house and crate trained, food motivated, eager to learn new commands and please her humans. She communicates by tapping with her paw on your leg, leading you to what she needs and using her voice to reinforce getting your attention(which is adorable and makes it very easy to communicate with her!). Given she is a pointer/hound mix she requires a fair amount of exercise, so always happy to go for a walk or fetch a ball for you and put right into your hand. She LOVES her foster family members, is very affectionate, especially enjoying cuddling on the sofa at the end of a busy day. Allegra is a beautiful & friendly Girl who is about 3 years old and 59 lbs. She loves to be outside, loves her toys, and loves playing fetch! She is a very smart girl & needs an experienced owner as she is energetic and will test her boundries. She is a great dog, just energetic. She has had professional training (knows come, sit, down, stay) and would do best in an active home with someone who will continue her training. The sweet girl has good leash manners, and is looking for a home with an active person/family & a fenced yard. She is very energetic and would be a great running companion! She is people friendly, likes kids, and loves to get attention. She could easily knock small children over so older kids would be better and is dog friendly and gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, but is not a fan of cats. Meet Kenosha! Kenosha is a 5 year old Female Pointer mix. This animal is coming up on a transport to the NYC Area THIS Saturday, April 27th and is looking for a foster home to go into. There are multiple shelters down south that are overcrowded and Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue partners with these shelters to move the animals into foster homes in the North East before they are adopted into their forever family homes. Kelly is on the timid side but is a very sweet dog. Whoever adopts her will have to give her time to come out of her shell. It will probably take a couple weeks before she feels comfortable. In the beginning she will most likely try to avoid the people in the home. Kelley also appears to be more comfortable with women in the beginning than men. Because of her shyness, Kelly should be in a home with older children (15+). Kelly was surrendered when she got into an altercation with another female dog in the home and the owner got bit when she tried to separate the dogs. It was the only time Kelly has bitten and it was not because she meant to bite the owner. Because of this, Kelly should only be in a home with another male dog or be an only dog. Kelly has been evaluated by an experienced dog trainer who feels that if Kelly "goes into the right environment and is given enough time to come out of her shell and bond with her new owners, I think she will do very well. She did not display any aggression when she was being evaluated, she only appeared shy with someone she had never met before. She was very sweet and loving to the person that brought her in, which shows that she will make strong bonds with the people she knows and is a very sweet dog once that bond is made." Outside of the noisy shelter and in the play yard, Kelly is much more relaxed and is very affectionate. She loves attention and being pet. Kelly is about 34 pounds and 5 years old. Give Kelly a second chance and help her find the loving home she deserves. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. He was born in June 2018. Jack M did have an unfortunate incident during birth - his toes were torn off--but that doesn't bother Jack M from being fully mobile as he loves to race around with his foster siblings! He is a sweet and playful boy!
