Story
This bio was lovingly written by Sparky’s foster parents, the people who have had the joy of getting to know his sweet personality firsthand. Sparky is a 51-lb. Dalmatian mix who is around 1 year old. From the moment he arrived, Sparky made it clear that he’s a people-loving, affectionate boy with a gentle soul and a big heart. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of your day, whether that’s following you around the house, soaking up belly rubs, or curling up on the couch for a cozy nap. Sparky is: 🐱 Good with cats 🐶 Good with dogs More about Sparky: Sparky came to Washington from a high-kill shelter in California in hopes of finding his perfect forever home. He is deaf, but don’t let that intimidate you! Living with a deaf dog isn’t much different from living with a hearing one. You simply use hand signals instead of verbal commands, and Sparky has proven to be smart, attentive, and very treat-motivated, which makes training a joy. He already knows sit, come, and paw, and is currently working on down. Sparky is house-trained (though a brief adjustment period in a new home is normal) and is not destructive. He especially enjoys rope toys and plays nicely. Sparky is respectful of cats and gentle and playful with other dogs, and people are his absolute favorite. He thrives on attention and affection and will do best with a family that enjoys spending time with their dog and making him part of everyday life. He’s social, loving, and has done well with every person and dog he’s met. He would love a home with another playful, sweet dog or two! In his foster home, Sparky currently lives with 4 dogs and 3 cats! Sparky has great house manners, does well on car rides, and is working on being comfortable in his crate. Indoors, he has a calm demeanor and is happy to follow his people (or dog friends) around before settling in for a cuddle and a nap. Sparky has a medium energy level, and is happy to lounge around the house after his daily walk and some yard some. If you think Sparky could be the perfect fit for your home, please apply through our website. We can’t wait to help him find the loving forever home he deserves. He is an amazing dog who is truly ready to find his people. Sparky is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Cooper is a 4-year-old Kelpie mix with a gentle, thoughtful spirit who just needed time to feel safe. When he first arrived in his foster home, it was clear he hadn’t had much (if any) socialization with people or everyday life inside a home. Regular household sounds, movement, even the TV were overwhelming. His crate became his safe place, and he would choose to go there often just to feel secure. With patience and consistency, Cooper has slowly blossomed. Now he spends most of his day resting calmly on the couch or laying in the kitchen while meals are being made. He used to be nervous in the car, but now he gets excited to go for rides. He didn’t understand treats at first, but now he joyfully pops up on his hind legs to ask for one. Cooper does very well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful of cats. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training—he hasn’t had an accident in the house in about a week. Though he is around 4 years old, he still has a bit of youthful playfulness in him. He loves belly rubs, gentle massages, chewing on toys, and watching the world go by from the cat perch. On walks, he is calm, rarely pulls, and often looks back to “check in” with his person—he truly wants to do things right. Because unpredictable movement can still make him nervous, Cooper would do best in a calm home without young children. He needs someone who can offer patience, steadiness, and understanding. Cooper has already come so far. With a loving, reassuring person by his side, he will continue to open up and become the loyal, tender, devoted companion he is meant to be. Echo was adopted from the humane society in May 2024. Per his history, he had been a stray and believed to be deaf. He is definitely hard of hearing but has been taught basic hand signs for commands. He should be monitored around cats and small animals. He does not like to be alone and has chewed through/escaped two standard crates. He can be crated in a sturdy crate. Easy to bathe.

Story
Meet Ranger – The Ultimate Adventure Buddy Ranger is a 4–6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer who’s ready to find a home that matches his energy, loyalty, and love for fetch. Found roaming a neighborhood, this sweet boy was taken in by a kind stranger who saw the good dog beneath the dust. Now he’s ready for his next chapter—and he’s bringing his ball with him. This guy checks a lot of boxes. He’s great with kids, friendly with small dogs, house and kennel trained, and knows basic commands. Ranger is affectionate, gentle, and loves being wherever you are—especially if that means riding shotgun on a car ride or playing a never-ending game of fetch in the backyard. He's happiest when he's outdoors, running off leash (in a safely fenced yard) or keeping you company at your side. His only mischief? He’s got a curious nose for the trash and may beg when food is around—but he’s too sweet to scold for long. What Ranger Offers: - Great with kids and small dogs - Knows commands, house and kennel trained - Low bark level, couch-mannered (only if invited) - Loves fetch, car rides, and being your shadow - Calm for indoor baths, less a fan of the hose - Affectionate, loyal, and fun-loving What Ranger Needs: - An active person or family who loves the outdoors - A decent-sized fenced yard with a tall fence - Someone with a strong throwing arm—he lives for fetch Ranger is looking for more than just a place to live—he’s looking for a human to belong to. If you’re ready for a companion who brings his own tennis ball and a heart full of love, Ranger’s your guy. ************************************************************* ADOPTION INFO - Dog application fees include: - All basic dog vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (up to $400) - Neuter (up to $300) - Microchip All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue.
