Story
Meet Bexley! You can see more about her rescue journey on our Instagram: @expedition.ola Bexley is one of those street dogs who showed right away that she was meant for a family. While some dogs thrive in their independent, free-roaming lifestyle, Bexley craved human connection from the moment we met her. She was shy at first, but one gentle pet and she completely lit up, all love, loyalty, and pure gratitude. Today she’s the joyful, goofy little ray of sunshine she was always meant to be. If we had to describe her in a few words, she would be a gentle lover. She is calm, caring, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She has a graceful strength, a smile that makes your heart smile, and she always chooses love. Bexley warms up to new humans instantly and will happily snuggle into any friendly lap. She’s more of a “people dog” than a “dog's dog,” but she can live with a calm, easygoing canine sibling. With unfamiliar dogs, she can be a little unsure, but with positive experience, her confidence continues to grow. Despite her athletic build, she’s surprisingly low-key! She enjoys adventures but is just as content lounging in a camp chair. As she gains confidence and continues healing, we expect her playful side to come out even more. At home, she is an absolute dream: no accidents, no chewing, easy when left alone, light shedding, and a beautifully relaxed energy. She’s also the best shotgun rider, totally chill in the car, and her early carsickness seems to have passed. At about 43 pounds (still gaining to reach a healthy weight), she’s the perfect size to take anywhere or to curl up beside you at home. Bexley is so ready to be someone’s whole world. We cannot wait to meet the incredible family who will love her just as deeply as she loves everyone she meets. If she sounds like your perfect match, we’d love for you to apply💕

Story
Meet Dorito! This 5-year-old, 28-pound mixed breed may have had a rough start, but he’s making incredible progress thanks to his dedicated foster. Found as a terrified stray, Dorito has been slowly learning to trust and is blossoming into a sweet, playful companion. He loves using the doggy door to take his toys outside, where he entertains himself by tossing them around. He enjoys being brushed, is now taking treats from his foster’s hand, and is gradually getting used to a leash. Dorito is quiet and calm in the home and seems to be house-trained.This special boy would thrive in a patient, loving home with another dog to help boost his confidence. If you have a gentle heart and a soft spot for a pup who just needs a little extra love, Dorito could be the perfect fit for you!

Story
Cooper is a 4-year-old Kelpie mix with a gentle, thoughtful spirit who just needed time to feel safe. When he first arrived in his foster home, it was clear he hadn’t had much (if any) socialization with people or everyday life inside a home. Regular household sounds, movement, even the TV were overwhelming. His crate became his safe place, and he would choose to go there often just to feel secure. With patience and consistency, Cooper has slowly blossomed. Now he spends most of his day resting calmly on the couch or laying in the kitchen while meals are being made. He used to be nervous in the car, but now he gets excited to go for rides. He didn’t understand treats at first, but now he joyfully pops up on his hind legs to ask for one. Cooper does very well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful of cats. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training—he hasn’t had an accident in the house in about a week. Though he is around 4 years old, he still has a bit of youthful playfulness in him. He loves belly rubs, gentle massages, chewing on toys, and watching the world go by from the cat perch. On walks, he is calm, rarely pulls, and often looks back to “check in” with his person—he truly wants to do things right. Because unpredictable movement can still make him nervous, Cooper would do best in a calm home without young children. He needs someone who can offer patience, steadiness, and understanding. Cooper has already come so far. With a loving, reassuring person by his side, he will continue to open up and become the loyal, tender, devoted companion he is meant to be. To apply directly for Cooper click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-762 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Pip is a beautiful, loving and fun-loving dog. She has tons of energy to play, and she always wants to be close to her humans. I've had Pip since she was only 6 weeks old. Sadly, I am looking for a new family for her now due to a change in my work, and need for me to travel more. Pip has been my dream dog: amazingly intelligent, eager to work, eager to please, always happy to play and very loving to people and kids. She's great at fetch and frisbee. She is bicycle trained, and she loves to run. An ideal new home for Pip is a family where there are multiple people who can interact with her, because she does thrive on being near humans and having regular interactions with people. Pip enjoys snuggling with her humans, but she's not the kind of dog to sleep all day - she definitely wants to play, to fetch, to tug, and to walk and explore with her humans. In terms of breed, she *looks* very much like a chocolate lab but acts like a Pointer (GSP), including the classic 'point' gesture.

Story
Welcome Oaks to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Oaks is a 1.5 year old German Short haired pointer and German Shepherd. He is about 48 pounds and a good weight. He is good in a car, potty trained, doggy door trained and lives with six children starting at age 2. He also lives with 6 other dogs and does fine. He would be great with a family and children would be fine. We like them to be 8 or older. He is smart, laid back, good with other dogs and bonds deeply to his family. He is a little timid with strangers but comfortable with his people. His foster family is going to start taking him places so he can get used to changes in environment and other people. He is smart but he doesn’t like to retrieve like his sister does. He is a nice dog and naturally a little protective to his family. He would be great with a family that the dad travels and he wants to feel that his family is safe and taken care of. He is a moderate shedding dog and with his long legs would be a great walking or jogging companion. He is neutered, healthy and getting his vaccinations and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Hi, I’m Rocco,I’m so happy you’re checking out my page, I can’t wait to find my forever home and share all my unconditional love. I live with both dogs and cats and get along great with everyone. I’m house-trained, walk nicely on a leash, and love to play. Even though I’m a senior, I still have plenty of energy and I also knowing how to be calm and relaxed. Running is my favorite activity, so if you’re a jogger or active walker, we’ll be a perfect match. Just one not; I think tennis shoes are toys. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.
