Story
Animal Profile: Marley is a 4-year-old, 60 lb neutered male mixed breed (DNA test showed German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pitbull). He came to us as a puppy and was adopted but returned several years later due to anxiety around the young toddler in the home. Marley is friendly with other dogs but he has exhibited prey drive with the cats in his foster home, so we will not be considering homes with cats. He is discerning with new people but not reactive and  is a loyal companion to his people.. He is nervous with small children who don't respect his space. He is house trained, crate trained, and has good basic obedience training. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care. He was returned several years later due to failure to acclimate to the toddler boy in the home. Shirley checks all the important boxes: ✅ Good with other dogs ✅ Great with kids ✅ House trained ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Loyal, loving, and well-mannered ✅ Professional belly-rub enthusiast At first, Shirley can be a teeny bit shy — the kind of girl who likes to observe before jumping in — but give her a moment and she’ll melt right into you.
