Story
Cooper is a 4-year-old Kelpie mix with a gentle, thoughtful spirit who just needed time to feel safe. When he first arrived in his foster home, it was clear he hadn’t had much (if any) socialization with people or everyday life inside a home. Regular household sounds, movement, even the TV were overwhelming. His crate became his safe place, and he would choose to go there often just to feel secure. With patience and consistency, Cooper has slowly blossomed. Now he spends most of his day resting calmly on the couch or laying in the kitchen while meals are being made. He used to be nervous in the car, but now he gets excited to go for rides. He didn’t understand treats at first, but now he joyfully pops up on his hind legs to ask for one. Cooper does very well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful of cats. He is crate trained and doing well with potty training—he hasn’t had an accident in the house in about a week. Though he is around 4 years old, he still has a bit of youthful playfulness in him. He loves belly rubs, gentle massages, chewing on toys, and watching the world go by from the cat perch. On walks, he is calm, rarely pulls, and often looks back to “check in” with his person—he truly wants to do things right. Because unpredictable movement can still make him nervous, Cooper would do best in a calm home without young children. He needs someone who can offer patience, steadiness, and understanding. Cooper has already come so far. With a loving, reassuring person by his side, he will continue to open up and become the loyal, tender, devoted companion he is meant to be. Story
Meet Bexley! You can see more about her rescue journey on our Instagram: @expedition.ola Bexley is one of those street dogs who showed right away that she was meant for a family. While some dogs thrive in their independent, free-roaming lifestyle, Bexley craved human connection from the moment we met her. She was shy at first, but one gentle pet and she completely lit up, all love, loyalty, and pure gratitude. Today she’s the joyful, goofy little ray of sunshine she was always meant to be. If we had to describe her in a few words, she would be a gentle lover. She is calm, caring, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She has a graceful strength, a smile that makes your heart smile, and she always chooses love. Bexley warms up to new humans instantly and will happily snuggle into any friendly lap. She’s more of a “people dog” than a “dog's dog,” but she can live with a calm, easygoing canine sibling. With unfamiliar dogs, she can be a little unsure, but with positive experience, her confidence continues to grow. Despite her athletic build, she’s surprisingly low-key! She enjoys adventures but is just as content lounging in a camp chair. As she gains confidence and continues healing, we expect her playful side to come out even more. At home, she is an absolute dream: no accidents, no chewing, easy when left alone, light shedding, and a beautifully relaxed energy. She’s also the best shotgun rider, totally chill in the car, and her early carsickness seems to have passed. At about 43 pounds (still gaining to reach a healthy weight), she’s the perfect size to take anywhere or to curl up beside you at home. Bexley is so ready to be someone’s whole world. We cannot wait to meet the incredible family who will love her just as deeply as she loves everyone she meets. If she sounds like your perfect match, we’d love for you to apply💕

Story
This sweet young English Pointer mix (and yes, her name is Birdie for a reason!) is as lovable as she is playful. Weighing in at 38 pounds, Birdie is already potty trained, crate trained, active and healthy. She’s a fetch enthusiast and will happily chase after anything you throw—though she’s still working on bringing it back every time! She's great on a leash and can entertain herself for hours in a fenced yard. Birdie is a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, whether big or small. She warms up to everyone very quickly, especially when she realizes you're her new best friend. She would also be great with older kids. Birdie is smart, affectionate, and sweet. She’s got a laid-back side too — if you let her, she’d happily curl up next to you for hours. This brave little pup was found on Christmas Eve on a cold and rainy night in Texas. She was found abandoned by a boat with fireworks going off nearby. She was so scared that she jumped right into her foster’s EV, ready to find safety and love! Since then, she’s blossomed into a happy, affectionate companion who can’t wait to find her forever family. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and playful pup to bring joy to your home, Birdie Bean just might be the one for you! We can drive this pup to your area! We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Cats OK Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care. Story
Animal Profile: Kiko is a 3 year old neutered male mixed breed, best guess GSP mix, that joined us from Hawaii on 10/17/25. Kiko weighs about 55 lbs, has a good amount of energy, and does really well with other dogs and children. He is also very food motivated which will help with training. We will share more about Kiko once he settles into his foster home. Foster Update: Kiko is a friendly, playful, and affectionate boy who’s settling into foster care beautifully. He greets new people with a quick sniff and a wag, and he’s very curious about other dogs on walks. Kiko has plenty of energy and loves to stay active! He enjoys walks, fetch, frisbee, and tug, and would be happiest in a home with room to run or a dog buddy to play with. After playtime, he’s all cuddles — he’s crate-trained but also loves curling up with his people and sleeping in bed. He’s mostly quiet, only barking briefly when someone’s at the door, and he’s learning his commands (sit, down, shake, and sometimes come!). Kiko is smart, sweet, and ready to find a home that matches his fun-loving spirit and big heart. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent visit with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Hawaii thru our rescue partner Paws Across Water Hawaii (PAWHI), and will be arriving to Seattle area foster care on October 17, 2025. We will share more info as we get to know them in foster care. November 21, 2025, 10:04 am
