Story
This sweet young English Pointer mix (and yes, her name is Birdie for a reason!) is as lovable as she is playful. Weighing in at 38 pounds, Birdie is already potty trained, crate trained, active and healthy. She’s a fetch enthusiast and will happily chase after anything you throw—though she’s still working on bringing it back every time! She's great on a leash and can entertain herself for hours in a fenced yard. Birdie is a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs, whether big or small. She warms up to everyone very quickly, especially when she realizes you're her new best friend. She would also be great with older kids. Birdie is smart, affectionate, and sweet. She’s got a laid-back side too — if you let her, she’d happily curl up next to you for hours. This brave little pup was found on Christmas Eve on a cold and rainy night in Texas. She was found abandoned by a boat with fireworks going off nearby. She was so scared that she jumped right into her foster’s EV, ready to find safety and love! Since then, she’s blossomed into a happy, affectionate companion who can’t wait to find her forever family. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and playful pup to bring joy to your home, Birdie Bean just might be the one for you! We can drive this pup to your area! Animal Profile: Marley is a 4-year-old, 60 lb neutered male mixed breed (DNA test showed German Shorthaired Pointer, Lab, Pitbull). He came to us as a puppy and was adopted but returned several years later due to anxiety around the young toddler in the home. Marley is friendly with other dogs, has lived without issues with cats, and is a loyal companion to his people. He is discerning with new people but not reactive. He is nervous with small children who don't respect his space. He is house-trained, crate-trained and has good basic obedience training. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.  Adopter Profile: Other dogs OK (not required) Cats OK Dog-savvy older kids considered Fenced yard preferred Large breed experience  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from Texas as a puppy and adopted after a short stint in foster care. Story
Animal Profile: Whiskey is an approximately 3 year old, 29 lb, altered male Catahoula mix joining us from Kauai SPCA in Hawaii on 9/5/2025. He was found after being abandoned in a Safeway parking lot. Whiskey has spent time with a foster in Hawaii but is headed to Seattle to get him more exposure and a better chance at a forever home. His fosters were able to share the following: "he knows the basic commands: sit, stay and shake. Whiskey is food motivated and loves to snuggle. He is working through his car anxiety and being secured or crated helps. Whiskey does not do well with cats." We will share more about Whiskey as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Whiskey is an absolute GEM and a favorite with all the volunteers who have met him. He is sweet and happy and great with other dogs. He is crate and potty trained and though he occasionally whines in the crate he settles down after just a few minutes. Also potty trained. He's great on a leash, has some prey drive with rabbits and squirrels (what dog doesn't?). He is doing well in a car and can't wait to find his forever family. He would be great for a an active family who can keep his active young self physically and mentally engaged. Okay with kids 12 +. Preference for house with yard. Dog companion in home a bonus.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Kauai SPCA in Hawaii, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 09/05/25. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.September 22, 2025, 1:14 am
