Story
Opal is a precious gal full of life, energy and brilliance. This rare gem was saved from rural county shelter and full of hopes for a second chance of loving forever home. She is friendly, good with other dogs, kids and would enjoy a backyard to stretch her legs. She’d make a great jogging buddy, loves the outdoors, playing fetch, car rides or couch snuggling, she loves family snuggle time!  Opal is a quick study, is working on training, already known basic commands, walks good on-leash, is crate trained and housebroken. Her ideal home would be active family to match her energy level, fenced yard a bonus or alternate plan of ample playtime. Opal would be a great family girl!  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##1640076##

Story
Meet ”Frannie.  We were told Frannie’s dad was in the military and deployed, leaving three Dobermans with no where to go. The boys found safety, but the person who was going to take her, planned to breed her asap. As soon as we found out about the situation we knew we needed to help.  Frannie was spayed/completely vetted this week and now is safe with us. It’s so sad because her world has been turned upside down and if you know the breed - you know how sensitive they are. We saw a picture of her laying in the sunshine tucked against her brothers, and just a week ago it all changed. This big baby is about as tender hearted as they come. Dobermans are often referred to as “dogs with the human mind” because they are to intune to what owners are feeling too. Needless to say this has been a lot for her.Frannie is 1.5-2 years old and 80 pounds.  Frannie needs a dobie loving home where she can thrive and be cherished. She’s been great with all the dogs she’s met thus far, but as for squirrels and cats it’s a no! For more info please contact us asap! Please share with any Doberman lovers you know as well. We all thank you for helping us make these happily ever after s happen. Email adrienne@rescuemega.org PLEASE NOTE: Previous firsthand ownership experience with purebred Dobermans is a strict requirement to adopt Frannie  ##1703116##

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Genesis was fostered and adopted by our family which also consists of another female Doberman. They get along very well. Dobermans are very high-energy dogs and require a lot of stimulation to avoid chewing behavior. They need ample time to play in an open environment. Our work schedule has changed dramatically which does not allow us the time to train her as needed. She knows basic commands, however, needs work on coming when called and basic discipline. Cats are not her friend, but is very gentle around children and very much a Velcro dog wanting to be everywhere you are. No….personal space will not exist. She is crate trained and walks well by herself on a leash but can be difficult to manage with another dog. This breed does not do well with being left alone for long periods of time so a stay-at-home or work-from-home situation would be best.

Story
Name: Styx Age: 1 year Arrival Date: April 14, 2023 Meet Styx, a beautiful 1 year Doberman who is ready to find his forever home. Styx is a striking dog with a rust coat and regal stance. He was surrendered to the shelter due to his previous owner no longer being able to care for him Behavior with Cats, Other Dogs, and Children Styx has been friendly with other dogs and people he has met at the shelter, but has not yet been tested with cats. However, his sweet and gentle demeanor suggests he would do well with proper introductions and training. He could potentially due well with children based on his amazing tempermant and eagerness to please.  Personality/Energy Level Styx is an active and energetic pup who loves to play and run around. He enjoys spending time with his human companions and is eager to please. Despite his large size, Styx is a gentle and affectionate dog who loves to cuddle up with his humans for some quality snuggle time. Skills/Crate/Potty Styx is crate-trained and house broken. He is an intelligent dog who is eager to learn new skills and tricks. Likes/Dislikes Styx loves toys, running around in the yard, and spending time with his humans. He is a people-pleaser and enjoys receiving affection and attention from his family. He does not like being left alone for long periods and may become anxious if left alone for extended periods of time. Medical Styx is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and preventatives. He is in good health and has no known medical issues. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Styx may be the perfect match for you. He is a stunning dog with a great personality and a lot of love to give. Story
Dozer was adopted as a puppy and returned when his owners could no longer take care of him. Dozer's former adopters say he is house and crate trained. He is in a playgroup here at the shelter and gets along well with other dogs. Dozer would be best in a home with adults only or teenagers. His previous adopters say that he is too rambunctious to be around young children. Because he's still a puppy, Dozer needs an active home where he can burn off his energy. He'd make a great running buddy! Dozer weighs 45lbs., is approximately 6 months old (est. birth date 11/18/2022), and his adoption fee is $305. If you want more information about Dozer, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Kane is very old for a dog of his breed, at least 10 years. He is very sweet and kind, but his falculties are now lacking. He has trouble getting up from laying down. He LOVES being outside, 24 hours a day. At his age, I just let him. Unless it is too cold or raining. I'm hoping to find him a home where he can just roam outside all day without a care in the world.

Story
A SWEET & FRIENDLY GIRL:  5 years old / 42 lbs.  Hi, my name’s Devonny!  Somehow, I ended up at animal control, and Mostly Mutts rescued me.  I obviously had a home at some point, but likely not the best care, as my ears were cropped at home and was likely painful.  Thankfully, now I’m soaking up all the love from the Mostly Mutts volunteers and look forward to a better life ahead.   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met a few other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I am starting to play with them.  The barking dogs still make me a little nervous, but I have not shown any aggression.  If you have a nice, quieter dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  My temp. foster said I tried to lunge at some dogs on our walks so please be mindful of this, tell me to ‘leave it’ and keep a good hold of my leash.  / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so a home with kids ages 10+ could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet!  Children should not walk me since I am strong and sometimes reactive to other dogs. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I have a sweet nature and was a bit shy, but the attention of the volunteers helped me feel more comfortable every day.  My sweet nature is emerging, and I am warming up quickly now to the love that comes my way.  I really enjoy being petted and snuggling up to people.  I am even showing more of my playful side now.  My temp. foster said that I was cautious and a bit scared, sometimes trying to jump up on or toward any new people on our walks, so please help me meet new people calmly.  He also said that I looked to him on our walks so I have good focus and this should help with my continued training.  / My energy level is 4-6, but this may increase a bit as I begin to feel better after my heart worm treatment.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I have learned the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘place’ commands so far and am sure to learn even more, so check back soon to see what else I have learned. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts.  My temp. foster said sometimes I didn’t want to go in and other times I would use it to relax I may have an adjustment period in my new home.  / My potty manners are good on the shelter schedule and were good in my temp. foster home too.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Now that I am feeling comfortable at the shelter, I am showing an affinity for head scratches and lots of petting.  I like Kongs filled with peanut butter or other treats – yum! Toys don’t interest me yet, but perhaps you can show me how much fun they can be. / Other than loud traffic noise and sudden movements, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a monthly heartworm preventative, so I came to Mostly Mutts heartworm positive.  Thankfully, I’ve been treated for it and have finished my recovery period.  I will have my heartworm re-check in October so local adoption is best, please. I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 1, 2023, 6:09 am

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My foster mom says I'm "full of love." Yes, it took me almost a month to be "full of love" in my foster home, but I came around. That's what happens when you lose your home and end up in a shelter – you have to make sure you can trust people.      So about me, I'm about 9-years-old, so old enough to know what I want in life. I prefer things on my own terms. I'm not much for cuddling, being picked up, or being petted unless I initiate it. But I'll let you know when I need help – then you can pick me up. I love dogs and playing with them in a fenced yard – I'm also okay with my foster mom's rabbits, but cats, not so much. Kids, I love 'em, but they don't have a lot of impulse control – so only older/almost adult children for me.      I'm house-trained as long as you watch me, but I was neutered at a late age and will try to make sure other dogs know it's my place (so you can keep a "belly band" on me until I re-learn in your home). I mean, who wouldn't like to "read" my signature all-over – I guess not my foster mom. I don't enjoy a crate, but you can place me in a pen or small area when you need to leave the house.      Don't be put off by my independence.  I'm just my own little man.  So, before you make a decision, you should talk with my foster mom. She can tell you what a sweet, loving, and adorable dog I am once I'm comfortable with you...just on my terms...hey, I'm not grumpy. I just know what I want. Maybe you'll be the one to give me everything I want and need.     Check out my video where I'm making up my bed so I can sleep – pretty darn cute!     For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. *Some of our animals receive a high volume of applications, and we strive to select the best home for each animal. Story
I'm Misha Marley, a 7 year old, Miniature Pinscher weighing 9.8 pounds. I'm pretty amazing, a bit high strung like most min pins and talkative! I am needy and sweet and really just want to be with you at all times. I am the perfect size to sleep in bed with you.  Good with dogs and great at potting outside.    An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Hans is a 10 yr. old, 9 lb. Minpin. He is blind, deaf, and a bit uncoordinated, but gets around very well once he is familiar with his environment. Hans is sweet, gentle, loving, friendly, low energy, and quiet. He gets along great with other dogs and cats, and likes both men and women.Because of his small size and vulnerability, Hans needs a home with no children, no stairways, no large or rambunctious dogs, no doggie door, and no in ground pool.  He does not enjoy long walks, so will need a fenced yard.Hans will go to the door to indicate he needs to potty, which is about every three hours. However, he will not wait long at the door, before he will go ahead and go potty. Therefore, the use of potty pads is also recommended. Because of the danger of falling off the bed, Hans prefers to sleep in a dog bed on the floor. Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##1462096##
