Meet Cooper, an approximately 1.5 year old, black and tan male Doberman with a docked tail and natural ears. Cooper is approximately 70 pounds and growing. He is handsome and gets lots of compliments while we are out. Cooper is friendly and enthusiastic about life! He is both crate trained and house trained and settles into a daily routine quickly. Cooper already has a good training foundations. He knows "sit," "down," "paw," "speak," and "drop it." Like many young Dobermans, he is still working on his puppy manners. He is learning that keeping four paws on the floor is the best way to say hello, but for now he still jumps up when excited. He also countersurfs. On leash, Cooper is using a front-clip harness. He will need continued work on his leash skills. Cooper is non-reactive to passing strangers or barking yard dogs, though he will show friendly excitement when other dogs are walking nearby, hoping to make a new playmate. While he hasn't had off-leash dog-to-dog introductions in his foster home yet, his history notes that he is dog-friendly. When it comes to playtime, Cooper is not destructive with furniture or household items, but he is a power chewer with his own toys! Soft plushies do not stand a chance against him, so he requires ultra-durable, power-chewer toys, along with normal supervision during play to ensure he doesn't ingest toy pieces. Once settled in, Cooper is a good passenger for car trips. Because he likes to try to join the driver upfront, securing him in a travel crate or with a dog seatbelt harness works best. With his foster family, he took a 1.5 hour car trip and relaxed with them at an outdoor patio restaurant. He was great company! He was also a favorite at the vet for his check-up. Cooper will do best in an active home committed to continuing his training, monitoring his play, and giving him the mental and physical exercise he needs to thrive as a young, playful Doberman with plenty of energy. A home with a fenced-in yard where he can safely zoom around would be his dream. He loves carrying the jolly ball, tennis balls, and frisbees around the yard while he runs and stretches his legs. Meet Cody, a happy-go-lucky 12-year-old black & tan male Doberman. Cody has beautifully cropped ears, a docked tail, and weighs 90 pounds. Cody came into the rescue through no fault of his own when his owner passed away. He is a total love bug! Cody recently had a checkup with our vet and left with flying colors. His blood work came back great, and the vet didn’t hear any issues with his heart! He is healthy, 12-year-old. He was so happy to meet and greet everyone at the vet office, and they said he was the best boy! Cody has a little anxiety and gets scared during thunderstorms. He has a Thundershirt that helps calm his anxiety during the storms, but he still does some pacing. Cody is looking for a calm, relaxed forever home where he can be a couch potato and can also receive some not too strenuous exercise throughout the day. Cody would do best in a one-level home without too many stairs. He would also do better with carpeting or non-slip rugs throughout his home. His older body is a little slow to get up so having good traction under his feet is necessary. Cody rides well in the car and tends to just lay in the back seat until we arrive at our destination. Cody is house trained, but he is not a fan of crates. At his age, a crate isn’t needed for him. He spends his days lounging on his favorite bed, waiting patiently for his people to get home from work. He also sleeps on that favorite bed at night. Cody is not really into playimg with toys, but he does have a few that he will carry around the house. His favorite is his orange tennis ball. Cody is a happy, smart, VERY loving boy who quickly claimed us as his people. He is a typical Velcro Doberman who wants to follow you everywhere. He loves attention from everyone! Cody is happily awaiting his forever home and is currently being fostered in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Kirk is a Dobi mix born on 9/24/25 with a goofy personality, a big heart, and endless puppy charm. This handsome boy is the life of the party—playful, outgoing, and always ready to make you laugh with his silly antics and happy energy. He loves attention, enjoys playing hard, and when the fun is over, he’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles. Like any typical puppy, Kirk is still learning and thriving with consistency and structure. He was previously potty trained, but after spending time in the kennel environment, he’ll need a little refresher and patience as he settles into a home routine again. He’s smart, eager, and ready to succeed with guidance. Kirk is fully vetted, neutered, and incredibly social. He has been exposed to cats and did well, though supervision is recommended since he’s still a puppy. This sweet, fun-loving boy is ready to find a forever home where he can continue growing into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. HOLA!! My name is REXLY and I am here to let you know more about me!! I am such a gentleman, and am not forward at all!! In fact, I take time to get to know you and your home and family. i am respectful like that!! My favorite rescue chick has this to say about me, "Rexly takes time to sniff around & explore a new place b4 choosing a spot to relax. He makes friends pretty quickly with gentle pets & maybe a tasty treat. He likes being brushed, is very gentle & calm. Rexly will be a perfect companion to go on walks or car rides or to just watch a movie & relax with- now that he is older a couch potato he is becoming ;)" Rexly has lived with other dogs b4, in the rescue and when he was adopted 3 years ago. He and his buddy ended up coming back to the rescue because their human mom got cancer and passed away last year :( The rescue people took me back and even brought my friend Tumble along! He has been adopted and NOW IT IS MY TURN!!!! I am a very good boy and if you have a female dog I would love slow intro and its important to know the breed or a single dog home suits him just fine!! Rexly is house, leash & crate trained is the sweetest boy who just wants to live his days out in a real home!! Not too much to ask for such a great great boy!! PS: like other older folks I have a couple of lumps that show up in silly places, but don't worry, they are FAT deposits!!! Munich, as German as the beer!! Now, I am not a beer drinker, but I have heard that German beer is da best!! So, I am a miniature Doberman/shepherd mix. And at 33#, I am smaller in stature but not personality!! I am such a happy guy, saved from the pound by the rescue team. The pound peeps were so happy for me because they knew I am a special boy and now I am safe and ready for adoption ! I don't have a napoleon complex.
