Story
Hi! I’m Commander, a Doberman mix and probably a little part unicorn. My birthday is probably sometime in January 2025 (thanks for asking, my favorite cake flavor is steak!). That makes me about 10 months old and 72 pounds of pure snuggle power. People are my favorite! Attention is my favorite! Hugs are my favorite! (Basically, if it involves love, I’m in.) My rescue coordinator calls me “Mister Let-Me-Hug-You". I’m a playful, goofy guy who’s still learning what to do with these extra-long legs, sometimes they forget they’re on the same team. I want nothing more than to be close to my people and soak up all the love they can give. I’m also a very strong boy who needs a confident, committed human to help me keep working on my leash manners. Right now, I’m fully convinced every walk is my big audition for a professional sled dog team. With patience and consistency, I’ll get the hang of it, I just have a little ways to go before I’m a “loose-leash” walker. Food is my love language. I’m playful, affectionate, goofy, and still figuring out where my long legs are supposed to go sometimes. Basically, I’m one big lovable jumble of joy who just needs a foster home (or adopter! please!) to continue helping me grow into my best self. If you’ve been dreaming of a happy, huggable, slightly uncoordinated adventure buddy, I’m your guy. No cats for me, thank you. I maybe able to live in an apartment but my tail alone will destroy every article you hold dear that is in proximity of my tail. I’m good with children, but I do love to hug, and at 72 pounds, I might accidentally knock them down. Dog parks aren’t my scene. I can be a bit overwhelming for some dogs, and my size can make others nervous. You don’t need a yard for me to be happy, though! Just common sense, regular walks, and maybe a pup cup or two. Professional training would be awesome for me, it’ll set us both up for success. Story
4-year-old neutered Doberman. He is up-to-date on vaccinations but is not currently housebroken. This playful and loving dog requires a special environment due to his territorial issues and unpredictability at times. - Age: 4 years - Health: Neutered, on anxiety medication and hypothyroid medication (which will be provided), and currently on a sensitive stomach diet. - Behavior: He is smart, trainable, and affectionate, but he cannot be housed with other dogs or small children. He thrives with plenty of exercise and needs a large yard to run and play. Ideal Home: We are hoping to find a home with someone who exercises daily and has a secure yard for those days when outdoor time is limited. He deserves a caring owner who can give him the attention and space he needs to flourish. Reason for Rehoming: Unfortunately, we must rehome him due to our current circumstances. His owner is wheelchair-bound and is unable to care for him adequate and is unable to care for him adequately due to brain

Story
🌼 Meet Daffodil – A Shy Flower Blooming Into a Ray of Sunshine 🌼 Daffodil is pure joy wrapped up in puppy wiggles and soft ears. This gentle, shy girl is blossoming into an affectionate and playful pup who loves people, other dogs, and even cats! She’s indoors full-time now and thriving—calm, well-mannered, and soaking up love like sunlight. She’s still learning about crate training and how to walk on a leash, but she’s a fast learner and responds beautifully to gentle correction. Daffodil has the kind of personality that makes you fall for her without even realizing it. She’s sweet, silly, and a little bit magical—like a dream girl in dog form. She's still getting used to the idea that humans are safe and kind, but her tail is wagging more each day, and she’s always ready for playtime. Daffodil is the type of dog that makes fostering feel like a gift—and adopting her will feel like winning the lottery.

💜 Adopt Dutchess – Loyal, Playful, and Learning to Trust 💜 Meet Dutchess, a beautiful, bashful sweetheart who’s equal parts puppy-playful and snuggle-curious. She’s still learning the ropes of being a family dog—but she’s showing so much promise. Dutchess is crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and gets along with other dogs and cats in her foster home. She does have some food guarding tendencies specifically when she’s in her crate, so we feed her separately to help her feel safe and secure. She’s currently working on this with consistency and patience—and she’s already making great progress. Dutchess is discovering that humans can be kind and loving, and while she starts off shy, she’s opening up more every day. She loves to play and is very much still a puppy at heart! She just needs a home that will keep helping her grow, set boundaries with love, and let her blossom at her own pace. If you're looking for a diamond in the rough who's already starting to shine—Dutchess is your girl. 💎

Story
💕 Kiara – Sweet, Shy, and Ready for Her First Real Family 💕 Kiara came to us after growing up as part of an oopsie litter of backyard dogs, which meant she didn’t get the early socialization most puppies receive. Because of that, the world felt a little big and overwhelming at first — but with patient guidance and lots of love at K9netic Pack, she has absolutely blossomed. Kiara has gone from a fearful girl to a confident, curious, incredibly sweet dog who truly wants to connect with people. Once she warms up, she becomes affectionate, loving, and so eager to be part of your world. She has a gentle soul, a working-breed brain, and a heart that melts the moment she trusts you. She is still building her dog-to-dog social skills, so slow introductions are best. She’s dog selective, but she may do well with a calm, neutral, dog-savvy companion who won’t overwhelm her. She would also be perfectly happy as the only dog, soaking up all your attention. Kiara LOVES kids, but because she can be a little shy and startles easily, we recommend a home with children 10 and older simply to ensure a calm, predictable environment as she continues growing in confidence. Kiara is the kind of dog who will bond deeply, love fiercely, and blossom beautifully with a patient, kind family. She’s ready for a forever home full of love, stability, and gentle encouragement — the kind of home she’s never had before. 💖 📍 Located in Poolesville, MD 🐾 Spayed, fully vetted, and professionally trained ✨ Adoption includes post-adoption support through K9netic Pack Apply to adopt Kiara: www.underdogdivision.org

To learn more about Sadie please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Sadie will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Sadie is a vibrant, expressive, and very boopable Pinscher/Doberman mix with the most poignant face you’ve ever seen—seriously, she could win awards for her eyebrow work. Sadie makes sure you know she’s around with a few enthusiastic barks. In her foster home, she’s proven to be a polite apartment pup. She only barks when someone’s at the door and spends most of her time relaxing quietly. On walks, Sadie is confident and composed; she enjoys exploring the world with curiosity and poise. Sweet, affectionate, and full of personality, Sadie has the perfect balance of energy and snuggles. She loves people, adores belly rubs, and makes a wonderful work-from-home companion, often resting her head on your lap between Zoom calls. With her spark of spunk, occasional zoomies, and loving nature, Sadie’s ready to bring joy, adventure, and cuddles to her forever home.

Story
Meet Zipper! Some souls show up already carrying a lifetime of stories in their eyes and little Zipper is definitely one of them. This tiny Min Pin gentleman arrived to Miri's Haven through no fault of his own. He didn’t ask for much ~ just a soft place to land, gentle voices, and someone who understands that change is big, even for a little dog. He’s potty trained and takes life at a careful, thoughtful pace. A slow walker on the leash, a quiet passenger in the car, and a boy who’s trying so hard to be brave in a world that suddenly shifted beneath his paws. Despite everything he's been through, it's abundantly clear that Zipper has a gentle heart doing its very best to trust again. He deserves nothing but the best for his golden years - could you be the one to make sure he gets it? Zipper is approximately 11 years old and 7 lbs. More details to comeas we get to know him better. Story
Meet Pee Wee! This sweet, gentle girl is as chill and easygoing as they get. Pee Wee came to us carrying some serious extra weight, so if you're looking for a diet and exercise buddy, Pee Wee is your girl. She is already hard at work at getting slimming down and has made great progress. She's just a few pounds from a perfect swimsuit bod! You can help her get there. On the exercise front, Pee Wee enjoys going for several relatively short walks each day. She can do a few stairs but would need some help with a whole staircase (a great way to get your arm exercises in). She also enjoys hopping from bed to bed, looking for the perfect place to snooze at different times of day. She enjoys sleeping in and having a leisurely breakfast to get her day started. Pee Wee is basically housebroken, but it wouldn't hurt to have some pee pads out initially, just to be safe. She sleeps well through the night, enjoys a good car ride, and is trustworthy when left home alone. She is looking for a fairly calm, quiet home that provides structure and consistency. She is happy to have canine or feline companions and loves to hang with her humans. Pee Wee may be small, but her heart is mighty and she is ready to show the world that every senior dog deserves a second chance at life. Could you be the one to give it to her? Pee Wee is approximately 10 years old and 20 lbs. Fostered in Severn, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org
