Story
*Courtesy Posting* Meet Bradley, the charming 2-year-old Velcro Doberman in search of his forever home! Bradley is an affectionate companion who thrives on human company. However, he's looking for a special family where someone can be there with him most of the time, as he tends to feel anxious when left alone, sometimes leading to destructive behaviors. While Bradley has a heart of gold, he does need a patient and understanding home willing to help him manage his separation anxiety. He has the potential to befriend other dogs, but introductions at the shelter are necessary to ensure a harmonious match. Once he warms up, Bradley forms deep bonds and becomes incredibly loyal to his loved ones. Bradley is a work in progress when it comes to manners, as he tends to be a bit of a jumper, but with consistent guidance and training, he'll be a well-behaved gentleman in no time. While he's great with cats and farm animals, Bradley would feel most comfortable in a home without younger children (under 10) as their energy makes him anxious. Rest assured, Bradley is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccines, eagerly awaiting the chance to become your faithful companion. If you believe you can offer Bradley the loving and supportive home he deserves, please apply directly to the Humane Society of Yates County, Penn Yan, NY, through our dog adopter survey: https://www.yateshumane.org/dog-adopter-survey

Story
Meet Niko, a spirited European Doberman born on July 15th, 2021. This handsome black and tan boy, originally from Serbia, weighs about 83 pounds but would be healthiest at around 85-90 pounds. Niko is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. He’s a bundle of energy and intelligence, with a high drive that needs plenty of physical and mental exercise. Niko is quick, smart, and eager to please, making him a great candidate for agility, obedience, and IGP sports. He's affectionate and has a lot of love to give to the right home. He thrives on structure and routine, and with consistency and patience, he’ll continue to grow into an exceptional companion. He rides amazingly well in the car. Loves it! Healthy and active, Niko is on heartworm, flea, and tick preventative and has no reactivity to grooming, including nails and ears. He's housetrained and enjoys attending daycare. His favorite toy is a Kong tennis ball, and he’s very food motivated. While he’s good with older kids (13+), he would do best in a home without young children. He is also a big lovebug! Niko needs a committed owner who can continue his training, as he’s not a fan of the crate and needs work on his leash manners. He requires a securely fenced yard (at least 6 feet) because he’s a fast and high jumper. Niko loves to run and play with other dogs, but his interaction with cats is unknown. He initially feared thunder from storms, however, was able to overcome his fear and now he is no longer bothered by them. Niko is working on his separation anxiety and has shown progress. He’s also "growly" when excited for meals, which is just an anxious quirk and not aggression. With zero resource guarding, Niko’s only aim is to please and protect his family. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a loving, structured home for a smart and energetic Doberman, Niko could be the perfect addition to your family: Right now Niko is located in Ontario, Canada. Story
*COURTESY POST* Joker is a charming 4 1/2-year-old Doberman Pinscher currently being fostered through Catskill Animal Rescue in NY. This sweet boy has a lot of love to give and is looking for a dedicated, experienced Dobie owner to share his life with. Joker loves going for walks and being with his humans. He can be around other dogs, but a meeting is required to ensure compatibility. Given his past as a cruelty case where he was kept in a small kennel, resulting in bowed rear legs, Joker needs a home that understands his special needs. Joker is great at following commands and does well on a leash, though he might pull if something catches his interest. He has a tendency to tear up toys but doesn't resource guard. While he hasn't been around young kids, he behaves well around people. Joker is dog selective and only barks when someone approaches the house. Currently in a foster home, Joker is doing well but may have occasional accidents indoors if he becomes anxious. He loves car rides and is happiest when he's close to his humans. An experienced Doberman owner is preferred, and it's important that Joker isn't crated. To apply for Joker, please visit Catskill Animal Rescue's website and complete an application: https://www.catskillanimalrescue.com/app-faq Let's help Joker find the loving forever home he deserves! Story
**Courtesy Post** Meet Theo, a 2-year old blue Doberman Pinscher looking for a new home. Theo is a sweet and playful dog who loves snuggling, going for walks, and playing with his family. He's crate trained, knows many commands, and is fully housebroken. Theo has shown dog aggression with unfamiliar dogs and has nipped his adult owners in response to high energy and overstimulation when seeing other dogs. He needs a calm, quiet household without young children and ideally no other dogs, unless they are a strong alpha. He lives with two cats, whom he sometimes chases but is also affectionate towards. Theo behaves well on a leash and is not aggressive towards people. He needs an experienced owner who can provide structure and manage his reactivity. Despite his challenges, Theo is smart, trainable, and capable of being a wonderful companion in the right environment. If you have a calm, structured home and experience with dogs with special behavioral needs, Theo could be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Meet Roxie, a 5-and-a-half-year-old Doberman ready for her forever home. After experiencing several changes in her life, Roxie has shown incredible resilience and is now looking for a stable, loving environment. She’s a sweet girl who enjoys exploring the yard and relaxing indoors with blankets and calming music. Initially a bit nervous, Roxie started to relax and show her affectionate side, often cuddling up with her foster. Roxie is very food-motivated, which makes her eager to learn and train. She loves playing tug-of-war and is becoming more comfortable with new people through slow, gentle introductions. Roxie has shown some resource guarding tendencies, particularly around other dogs, and while she could have doggy friends out of the home, she would be happiest as an only dog. She would do best in a calm household with 1-2 people where she can continue to build trust and feel secure. Roxie’s ideal home is a quiet environment without young children, where she can thrive on routine and positive reinforcement. She’s a loving dog who needs a bit of time and patience to feel fully comfortable, but with the right match, she will become a loyal and affectionate companion. If you think you could be the perfect home for Roxie, complete an application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog PA Kennel License #14649

Story
Say hello to Dexter! Dexter is a rambunctious 1-year-old blue male Doberman who came to DPRPA from BARCS in Baltimore, MD. He got loose from his yard and ran up to someone walking their two dogs. Unfortunately, the two dogs felt they needed to defend their owner and attacked Dexter causing some significant injuries. Once he was healed up, he was returned to his owner and he was later picked up by animal control officers when he was found living in poor conditions. DPRPA was notified and we worked to get him into foster care. Due to his previous attack Dexter is reactive to other dogs when walking on a leash. Because of this we sent him through a 17 day in-home dog training boot camp. While he made great progress Dexter will need a family who is willing to continue to work on his obedience, and leash reactivity. Dexter loves to train and would do great in a home who wants to help him learn and grow. With proper introductions Dexter loves playing with other dogs, but may do best in a home as an only dog. Dexter is a very high energy dog and can sometimes be too much for another dog if they do not match his energy level. He absolutely LOVES his people! He loves children as well, but due to his size and activity level his future family would need to be conscious of his activity around small children. Dexter is currently located in Annapolis, MD. Do you have an active loving family looking for a high energy buddy like Dexter? If so please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DPR/Dog DPRPA PA Kennel license # 14649
