Story
Rajah was adopted in the Spring 2022 from a shelter in Polson, MT. She is ~5 years old and has been living a rural life with our other two dogs. Her ideal family looks like someone with patience, love, and a fenced-in yard. This girl loves to run & play and be #1 in your life; however, she loves to run off if she gets bored or sees something fun to chase, to the point that she has no problem spending the night outside, roaming the wilderness. She does love having siblings; however, we think she would flourish as a main best friend. She LOVES human affection and curling up next to you for pets and belly rubs. Over the years, we have tried to make our home a good fit for her; unfortunately, she has made it clear that it doesn't fit her preferences. PROS: -Sweetheart -Hilarious -Loves adventures -Very smart -Loves fetch & frisbees -Gets along with other dogs & has lived with a cat -Potty & leash trained CONS: -Free spirit; therefore, needs fenced-in yard -Vocal when anxious/excited

Meet Beans!Beans is a busybody with a big personality and an even bigger love for belly rubs! He enjoys tagging along for car rides and is already crate trained, making him a great companion for both adventures and downtime.Beans would do best in a home with children over 12 years old and with dogs his size or larger, where he can feel comfortable and thrive.Beans can be a little protective of his yard, but he walks nicely on a leash and is ready to explore the world by your side. If you’re looking for an active, loyal pup who loves attention and being part of the action, Beans might just be your perfect match!

Story
Murphy is a sweet senior gentleman with tons of love and affection to offer his new forever family. With his gentle spirit, affectionate personality, and love of car rides and hikes, Murphy is the perfect companion for everything from outdoor fun (he has great recall and does perfectly off leash) to couch rotting. Do you have room in your heart and a place in your home to give him the safe and loving retirement he deserves? Murphy is currently fostered with six other dogs and a cat and gets along great with everyone. He's around horses, mules, and a pet steer at his foster home and handles himself like an old pro. Murphy's forever home could include another dog or two for companionship, but maybe not six since he'd like first dibs on that prime spot on the couch or in the truck! Murphy appears to be part Heeler or Aussie or other herding dog type mixed with German Shepherd or other large breed. He's a big boy at over 90 lbs! Murphy was found in Libby near the Kootenai River and a door to door search revealed that no one had seen him before. We can speculate on how he ended up lost in an area where no one knew him, but we will never know for sure. The best placement for him is within 100 miles of his foster home in Eureka to ensure he remains safe and secure for every golden day he has left with his forever mom, dad, or family. Murphy has been vaccinated, had recent bloodwork, and will have his full senior dog wellness exam prior to placement. Please contact Kirsten at Underdog Rescue 406-871-1278 or underdogmontana@gmail.com with any questions and to schedule a date with Murphy.

Story
Meet SadieWhen Sadie arrived, her skin was extremely itchy and cracked, with patches of missing fur, and she was significantly overweight and clearly uncomfortable. We’re happy to report that Sadie is well on her journey to feeling—and looking—her best. We’ve discovered that she has food allergies that were contributing to her skin issues, and she is now thriving on a sensitive-skin diet. Sadie has also been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which is being successfully managed with a daily medication that she takes like a champ.Because Sadie adores food, she is also on a slow and steady weight-loss journey. Once her thyroid levels are fully regulated, weight loss should become much easier for her.Sadie has lived successfully with children and is housebroken. She enjoys going for walks and even likes getting baths! She is calm, gentle, and loves affection. While she can be a little shy around certain people at first, a few reassuring words and some tasty treats are all it takes for her to become your new best friend. If you’re looking for a mature, well-mannered gal who just needs a little extra love, Sadie may be the perfect match for you.

Story
Meet Lizzy! In true Chihuahua-mix fashion, Lizzy may be small in size, but she has a big personality and takes her role as protector of her home and loved ones very seriously. She’s looking for an adopter who knows how to recognize and respect her boundaries. When meeting Lizzy, it’s important to follow staff instructions and let her set the pace—slow and steady, on her terms. As a mature lady, Lizzy knows exactly what she wants out of life: a friendly dog her own size to play with, and a secure, fenced yard where she can zoom around to her heart’s content. At 8 years old, she still has plenty of spunk! Her ideal day includes a short walk, a fun car ride, and an evening curled up on the couch for snuggles.Lizzy has successfully lived with other dogs, cats, and children over the age of 12. She’s well-mannered in the home and long past the chewing stage. She’s very food-motivated and is currently on a diet to keep her at a healthy weight, which also helps support her joints. Lizzy does have some arthritis in her feet and takes daily joint supplements to keep her comfortable. While she can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, a few tasty treats go a long way—once she warms up, Lizzy’s sweet, loving personality truly shines.
