Story
We are looking for a loving, stable home for our terrier chihuahua, Oscar. Oscar was adopted from a local shelter when he was about 8 months old and given the birthdate 2/14/2019. Oscar needs someone who doesn’t have young children around, and someone who is home a lot and doesn’t travel much. He has always been anxious/skiddish of guests, but he is especially fearful of men. That doesn’t mean he won’t chill out around them; it just takes a minute longer than a female. He has progressively gotten more and more temperamental over last couple years. He has nipped at almost all of our guests, but especially children who don’t know to give dogs space. He does not like people to pet him if he has not come to you and sniffed you out. We love Oscar, but our lifestyle with aging children is always on the go. He is used to walking twice a day. He has serious leash aggression, and so we walk with a buzz/beep collar so he knows to chill out.

Story
Meet Nick – Your New Best Friend! Nick is a 3-year-old, 65-pound mixed breed with a heart as big as his sweet, soulful eyes. With his sleek short coat and medium build, he’s the perfect size for snuggling on the couch—and that just happens to be his favorite place to be! Nick is incredibly smart, affectionate, and gentle. He thrives on companionship and would love nothing more than to be by your side—whether you’re hanging out inside or enjoying time outdoors. He’s a toy enthusiast, a devoted cuddle buddy, and a loyal shadow who simply wants to love and be loved. Nick is house trained, crate trained, walks beautifully on leash, and is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. While he had a rough patch with another dog in a previous foster home and is currently working on rebuilding his confidence around other dogs, he’s made incredible progress with guidance and patience. Nick would still make an ideal only dog (he would make the perfect “Hallmark companion dog”). His first love is to people, then to toys, and finally to his foster buddy TJ. With the right dog (not alpha), and slow introductions, he should be ok, although I am convinced, he would be content as an only dog. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, and devoted companion, Nick may just be the perfect match. Serenity is a 4 year old, 10 pound, Wirehaired Terrier/Chihuahua mix. She's current on shots, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. We are working on kennel and potty training. She's close. She gets along well with her fur siblings, but would rather be with her person than playing with them. Serenity is a truly special girl who embodies her name. She has beautiful, long legs and prances around like a Queen with her head held high. She is a dignified lady who carries herself with grace, but don't let that fool you she's also a playful pup at heart! She loves nothing more than being by your side, offering a loyal companionship that will fill your days with warmth and love. Serenity is an adult dog with a heart as big as the ocean, and she's searching for her forever family. Could it be you who helps her write the next chapter of her life? If you think Serenity is the dog for you, please complete an application. It's on our website, www.myhappytail.org.

Meet Clyde!Clyde is a 2.5‑year‑old, 25‑pound Beagle/Whippet mix with the perfect blend of playful energy and sweet affection. He’s current on all vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He’s also both potty trained and kennel trained, making him an easy addition to the right home.Clyde loves playing with other dogs, chasing squirrels in the yard, and entertaining himself with toys. He’s also a total people‑pleaser who enjoys attention from his person and happily soaks up affection. He gets along well with most dogs but does best with a proper introduction to new canine friends. Clyde ignores the resident cat in his foster home, so a feline roommate may be just fine.If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion with a goofy streak and a big heart, Clyde might be your perfect match.
