Story
I brought Rip into my home about a year ago because I was single and needed a buddy. Soon after, I entered into a relationship and my whole life changed. I am no longer at home as often as I need to be for Rip. He has a lot of energy, needs a lot of attention, and I am unable to provide that for him. He is full potty trained, kennel trained, and a good boy, just really energetic. He has been reactive aggressive in the past to adult strangers, but he has never bitten anyone. I don’t believe he is actually aggressive, just very scared at times. He is around my seven-year-old grandson, quite often and loves to play and play and play. He has never been reactive, aggressive to children.

Story
Hi, my name is Teddy. I was found on a county road, starving and with shop staples in my head. That really hurt!! I was so sad and lonely and in pain. The good folks at Lucies Project picked me up and started taking care really good care of me. They believe I was probably a hog dog, and just couldn't make the cut. Maybe I'm just too darn sweet for that, but who knows? With the proper training, I can be just the type of dog you would like for me to be. I love playing with other dogs. I have many friends here at the rescue and most of us play well together. All we want is a good home and family to love us. I am leash and crate trained and an awesome watch dog! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you!! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Story
On November 11, 2018, Simon and Travis came into our world. Two precious little boys that were part of a 22 dog, court ordered seizure. Three rescues were involved, and vets were on standby, waiting for the dogs to be captured and delivered. When we arrived at the location , there were 22 numbered collars on a table , cadaver bags available. As the dogs are caught, they are crated in the closest vehicle. Once the vehicle is full it heads to the clinic. The dogs were in serious condition. Purebreds, mixes, pregnant, you name it. Whatever dog(s) end up in your vehicle, you take. After being released from the vet,the boys arrived at Lucies and were put in major quarantine for a month. We noticed that they seemed to have a fondness for each other. Carrying on little conversations through the fence. They were overjoyed when we put them into a yard together. We also noticed that they were similar in a number of ways. They insist on eating and sleeping together, although they curse each other in their very own language while they do it. We have no doubt that they are brothers. In all the chaos that day, Simon and Travis were loaded into Lucies vehicles. Luck??? Please pardon the length of this post, we can’t split them up. Last month they received a clean bill of health and are ready for adoption. Please share their story, there has to be someone that needs some laughter and love in their lives. Simon and Travis are crate and leash trained. They will follow off lead. Kid and K9 friendly. Approximately 6 years old and weighing about 35-40 pounds. Thanks y’all 🐾💙! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Story
Hi guys! My name is Blair, glad to see you visited my page. When I was younger, someone dumped me on the side of the road. A very nice older lady took me in and fostered me until the kind hearted Lucie's folks could fit me in. Ready to go?? I am full energy and ready to run and play!!! I just love kids because they tend run and play like me! Oh yeah, I'm treat motivated :) :) :) I love playing with toys but haven't quite mastered the whole retrieving thing ;) I would be an awesome family dog or one for an active adult who enjoys running or hiking. At the moment, I am enjoying rough play with my kennelmates, so if you have another dog who enjoys that as well, that would be really swell. I'm ok by myself too. I am leash and crate trained. Hope to see you soon! *** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****
