Story
Cocoa (black) and Buttercup (tan) were abandoned on a country road together in June. They were picked up and brought to a family that had lots of experience with dogs but are full of rescues already. These girls are approximately 8 months old now and were estimated to be 6 months at pick up. They were given good care, food, toys, training and love. They are spayed and have shot records and microchips. These girls need families that are willing to keep them indoors and shower them with love. Buttercup is the athlete who is energetic and playful. She loves to go outside holding a toy in her mouth. She loves to run and she can climb a 4 ft fence so a yard with a taller fence or tie out that cannot be chewed would be best for her. She currently weighs 48 lbs. She melts in your hands and she will melt your heart. Cocoa is the sweet loving little girl. She likes to watch her sister and then make a decision to play or not. She responds to commands well. She weighs 51 lbs. and needs love.

Story
LOCATION: Summerdale, PennsylvaniaDOB: 10/26/2015Hello! My name is Belle! My name certainly does mean ""beauty"", and I'm a gorgeous girl! However, my good looks are only the beginning of my story. I have been in multiple homes when my last owner reached out to Save Rocky for help. I didn't always have the best life. Because of this, I need a very dog-savvy new home, without children or other dogs. I do well with cats though! I do tend to resource guard against dogs and humans, and so I need someone to help me with this, help me to feel safe, and help me to learn. One of my favorite things to do is to lay in the sun! I would lay out forever even in the heat of the summer if I could! I also love my toys, especially squeaky ones. I am very good at entertaining myself with my toys and I can never have enough of them. I am all around just a very goofy lady who means well and just wants love and affection, unfortunately my past trauma has left me with some unpredictable behaviors. Will you be my angel and help me live my best life?========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 =========================For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
LOCATION: Killeen, TexasDOB: 02/05/2015 (Estimate)Hi guys, I’m ready for my furever home! My previous owners dropped me off at a shelter for some reason, but that place was for the birds! So a little about me:I can’t wait to spend many more years with my new family. I’m a calm and relatively lazy girl, and would like my furmates to be the same, or I would be happy to have all the attention for myself. I am a Couch Potato Queen during the day that loves snuggling with you on the couch.I'm always eager to go on my daily walks. My foster mom says I’m amazing on a leash however, I like to speed walk for the first few minutes and will sometimes react to new dogs because I'm curious. It may not be ideal to allow a child to walk me because they might not be able to keep up. For now, I can only handle 20-minute walks because I get tired easily so it's best to walk me when it's cooler out. I LOVE playing with water coming out of the garden hose! I also love sunbathing in the backyard but only for a little while. I'm becoming more playful with my foster dog siblings; we play outside together and all talk to each other (bet you wish you knew what we were saying). Sometimes I try to play with the house cats even after they've warned me that they don't want to play. I like to play a little fetch and LOVE soft squeaky toys! I do enjoy toys that have peanut butter or treats as long as I don’t have to work too hard to get them. I’m house broken, crate trained and know basic commands like sit, lay down, look and touch. I can, however, be left out alone without an accident or any destruction as long as there's no treats in my reach. I know how to use the doggy door but will also scratch at the door if it’s closed to let you know I need out. Car rides? I’m game and load up by myself but giving me treats is always encouraging. Bath time? Well I prefer a standup shower and I’ll walk in easily with a peanut butter treat. I enjoy being brushed and having my chest scratched at. So, if you need assistance holding your furniture down, I’m your girl. I’m prepared to give you all the love and attention you need without those pesky puppy behaviors. Do I sound like the ideal girl for you?-Kids 10+========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. Story
LOCATION: Plainwell, Michigan DOB: 03/16/2016 (Estimate)Hi all! My name is Louie. I am a Great Dane mix and a handsome, distinguished gentleman as you can see from my tuxedo coat. All I’m missing is a bowtie. I am wonderful with all humans (kids of all ages included), if I do say so myself. I do fine with other dogs (although I am not a fan of the pesky small ones), but I would be lying if I said I did not want to be the center of attention in my home. I’d prefer to be king of my domain and not have to share any of the love and cuddles from my humans. (No cats for me either, please!). I do have a high prey-drive so seriously, no cats and no small dogs.As a distinguished gentleman, I of course behave perfectly in my crate, though I do great outside of a crate too if you need to leave me alone. I will walk great on a leash for you. I know basic obedience and am housetrained. I love tennis balls, playing fetch and tug-of-war, and I also **can easily clear a 6ft fence** and keep on running FAST! Impressive, I know. I also LOVE treats!!! Dog biscuits are the best!So anyway, if you are looking for that perfect, devoted gentleman to shower with unconditional love, please look no further – I am the guy for you!========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
LOCATION: Brownsburg, IndianaDOB: 03/29/18 (estimate)Stormy is a snuggly, loving, and amazing dog! She loves her people so much! She loves to splash in the water, and she loves her doggy pool! She is the best cuddler, and now that she is more comfortable at home she has become quite the couch potato. She loves to be in a bed or on the couch, but she definitely prefers to be in bed! She will need lots of time and patience to adjust to her new home and new people (she warms up more quickly to women), but once she gains your trust, she'll be inseparable! Stormy will do well with older children (12 years and older) who will respect her need for space and patience as she adjusts. She does need time to warm up to strangers, especially men, but comes around quickly after learning that they aren't going to hurt her. Stormy loves to go on walks even if it is cold outside. She has done well with her leash, crate, and muzzle training. Due to her very tough past, she does have separation anxiety, and is protective over her resources - especially food. She will need a strong, patient owner who will continue to work with her. She does fantastic in the car, and she loves to go get pup cups. She also loves to do enrichment activities that help her with her anxiety such as her lick mat and topple. She is a lap dog who always wants to cuddle and give you lots of kisses. She loves to play with her foster family’s other dogs outside, but she takes a while to warm up to other animals inside. She would do best in a home without cats, and her future family should be aware that she is dog selective and will need careful introductions (again, she struggles more indoors). Because of her sad history of being attacked by other dogs, she can be reactive to other animals and is not a dog park dog. Stormy would be best in a home with larger dogs only, even better if they are bigger than her and she can't physically boss them around. She does not like to go outside very often and she is terrified of being left outside, so her foster family always go outside with her for comfort. She especially has trouble going outside when it is hot. Quite possibly, she had lived her life outdoors in Texas and was not able to escape the heat, so now the outdoors and heat give her pause, but her nice and cool doggie pool definitely makes that better and a lot more fun for her. Stormy is learning how to play with toys and is getting better at playing catch outside. She loves to explore and do her zoomies! She is a great listener and knows basic commands (sit, stay, come, no). She is also fully housebroken. She is still learning manners, but she is the happiest and most loving girl! She enjoys her calming chews, and she is great at taking her medication. She can be out in the house by herself as she is not destructive at all (unless she has access to food or trash).Although she had a rough past, she is the sweetest and happiest girl (especially when she wakes up in the morning)! She deserves to be soooo spoiled! If you are that special person that is willing to put in the time and patience, you will get so much more in return from Stormy!========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org. LOCATION: NOTI, OREGONDOB: 08/29/2018 (estimate)Pepper is just a sweet bell “pepper”! She’s a love bug that will climb in your lap for pets and roll over when her belly needs a rub. She’s a quick learner and wants to please her person. She’s got good recall and knows how to sit. Her foster mom swears Miss Pepper has springs in her legs because she is very fast and bouncy! While she is fast and loves to go on walks, playing and running outside, she is quite happy sitting next to you on the couch and being lazy indoors. She loves to be with people, including kids. She is submissive with her fellow dog siblings and she enjoys being with them, taking her cues from them.Sweet Pepper does seem to have some separation anxiety and cannot be trusted yet to free roam but her foster momma thinks that will diminish over time. She knows her crate is her safe place and is happy there when her foster family is out of the house. This bundle of energy and fun is a good dog, eager to please and a fast learner. She has so much amazing potential and she has a ton of love to give!========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org.
