Mo

Mountain Cur Shepherd (Unknown Type)

Male, 2 yrs 11 mos
Sheridan, WY
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Grab a ball and play some catch, and Mo is set! Mo’s ideal day would be a long hike in the mountains, and then coming home with the family to BBQ in the backyard. He loves affection and is quick to seek out a good belly rub. This boy is also “good dog” (our Better Canine training program) certified and is all trained up for his new family! Mo is currently our longest dog resident and is just looking for a home to care for him and love him wholeheartedly. He does struggle with a medical issue involving one of his ears. If you are interested in Mo, our veterinarian will meet with you to discuss his needs further. If this ball of energy sounds like your guy, come meet Mo today! Extra Info on Mo: Mo has been in our care since March 2nd of 2022. When he came here it became apparent that there was something wrong with his ear. It would break open and bleed whenever he would shake his head (which was a lot). Our vet diagnosed him with vasculitis affecting his pinna (pinna being a fancy word for ear). With the proper treatment, he is doing much better! He is a goofy dog with the biggest smile! He likes his ball A LOT. He is always walking around with his ball and doesn’t like to let it go. He loves cuddles and attention.

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details

Story
Meet Ruger! This handsome boy may be big, but so is his heart! He would do great with an active household with lots of time to run around and play. Ruger is a special boy with a really loving personality, because of this we have found it best for him to have one person he can rely on. He is wonderful with people, but is very anxious if his person is not near him, so consistency and routines will benefit him immensely! He will also benefit best if he is the only “child” in the household as he can get mean with other animals. Ruger recently graduated from our Better Canine training program but will need consistency with his continued training so he can be the best doggie he can be. If you need a friend that’ll be obsessed with you, come meet Ruger today!

Merle & Melvin

Pit Bull Terrier Mixed Breed (Medium)

Male, 4 yrs 11 mos
Sheridan, WY
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Merle and Melvin, a bonded pair that grew up in a difficult situation. They are very timid and spook easily. However, they do not have a mean bone in their bodies. Patience is key with these doggies, because once they open up, they are loving and cuddly guys. Merle and Melvin will need leash training. And after they are established in your home, basic obedience training would benefit them immensely. The time and energy these dogs will need to heal will be a commitment. But we think with the right fit and dedicated owners, Merle and Melvin will blossom into amazing dogs! We will require several meet and greets before you are able to take them home as this will help you and the boys establish a bond before integrating them into your home. If you are interested in meeting these two love bugs, please call to make an appointment or if you have any questions pertaining to these doggies, ask for Emi. Extra Info on Merle and Melvin: Merle and Melvin were transferred to us from a different county on February 3rd of 2023. Due to abuse and neglect they were taken from their previous owners. They are very sensitive to loud noises or raised voices. They are also terrified of leashes. They do not like taking walks as it is a very scary experience. They would much prefer to run around in a big yard with their favorite people. Merle is the more outgoing of the two and Melvin gets courage from him. Once you have some patience and a calm demeanor, Merle and Melvin will be the most cuddly and loving dogs you will ever meet!
